thanks for saying that about renata out loude, hopefully someone in charge hears that and lets me get back to a champion i called "main" until they nerfed the ultimate, wich was the only fun part about that champ. renata shielded worse than anyone else, hooked worse than anyone else, the only thing she had going for her was the ultimate, wich made tristana kill her entire team in the baron pit wich had the abilitie to turn arround a lost game. that was something wich made that charackter be a worthy champion, since none of the other supporters can have such an impact in such a small time in the late game. it got gated by its cooldown and the fact that she was giga vunerable while she had no R. old renata was ballanced and not overpowered at all. instead of gutting her Ult they could have raised the cooldowns on her hook so she has to be more carefull about the target she chooses to peel and shields while buffing the shield so it finally feels like she has the abilitie to give shields instead of the abilitie to spam benefe...
in generell i already felt like old renata already was weak since her kit was ballanced arround beeing alive to do the shieldin, similar to an immobile sona without her R.
the thing about her rework wich absolutely gutted her was, the duration of the R was so short, that she got punished for using it, since it caused enemies to keep walking torwards her while she was locked in place, that cancled the reason to push R in the first place, cause usually you didnt use it unless a khazix jumped onto your face as a way to get out and buy you time. but its not a way to get out, when you lock yourself in place while 5 enemies keep walking torwards you. you should at least be able to walk a couple meters away while they are somewhat stunned instead of even reducing their distance to you.
i think they killed renata just cause her appearence messed arround with their usual skin rotations and the fact that even more champions been in the pipeline. i remember the princes of belvedere appearing 2 weeks later... maybe they feared that belvets auto attack damage would completely render the new champion useless cause of renata... it had to be connected with the skinsells... cause nobody buys em for a champ wich is unplayable cause of a support counterpick. people dont have problems if someone counterpicks them on top or midlane, but imagine beeing a midlaner, jungler or toplaner, and a support 1 v 1's you with no backup... you haveto understand that the mentality of players wich play other rules than support is " if im not getting at least 10 kills ouf of a goldless support this game, imma stop buying skins and sell my account on ebay...
and after that, they simply forgot about renata maybe this video wakes them up
