Its a cheat because when you turn it on it advises that it can have some bugs with big cities and it even tells you to have more than one save for the city just to be safe. 25 tiles will only be standard gameplay with a remake of the game with new engines man.

@The Mighty Orange dude just play a normal 9 tiles city to get your achievements then when you’re done, unlock the cheat on the save and have the 25 tiles, aint that hard
@The Mighty Orange I think I’m going to use it, but only went I really need it. I’m gonna play the game usually to unlock achievements, but when I need more room desperately late game I’m going to enable it because you can enable cheats on any save even if you haven’t enabled any cheats before
Apart from the 25 tiles and a few graphical improvements most of this can be implemented onto the previous gen consoles so I hope there is going to be more features/tools to make it stand out more.
The teaser made me believe that there would be so many great features, but this remaster is mainly just the 25 tiles, and even this is not possible without disabling achievements
@Jordan Sherrington Same thing on Series S. The Xbox One version runs pretty smoothly, but this “Remaster” frame-rate is all over the place, going from a (rarely) 60fps down to 30… Is just unnerving.
I’m lost on the achievements part. Is that like unique buildings? I still get them. I miss all the DLCs. I am surprised they released it without all the DLCs, I’ve never seen that happen in any other game revision

Yeah, while I have the digital version of the game, I can definitely understand the frustration of disc owners who paid and can’t get the upgrade. It was probably too costly and complicated for them to implement some upgrade program for disc owners which probably would have required some verification process along with giving disc owners a code for the digital version of the game. They probably discovered that disc owners at this point make up a small number of people with the game so any backlash would be minimal. I guess at this point, everyone should be buying digital games only if you want to future proof your game for any free major upgrades. TBH, I wouldn’t be surprised if they stopped manufacturing consoles with disc drives by 2025. They may also announce the discontinuation of games on disc at the same time.
@@The.Amnesia.Channel The thing with the physical copy upgrade for it to work you have to put in the disc. So you HAVE to have the disc for it to work.. Fraudulent use as you say here is literally impossible. Almost every game that has a current gen upgrade has a upgrade path for physical copies like this.. Cities Skylines is currently the only one that has this, which is absurd and extremely customer unfriendly.. Again.. We already BOUGHT the game and have paid for it.. So denying this upgrade to prople who bought the game is plain false advertisement.

They only gave that option if you want to open a map straight away and unlock all 25. If you play the regular mode with the starting 70,000 you will have the option to unlock all 25 as well.
@@justinl1793 have you seen this yourself? cause only 9 show up earnable in the the milestones without the cheat enabled for me. I’ve yet to get to the 9 so I haven’t seen personally what happens then but everyone is saying you can’t go past 9 without the cheat
The only really valuable change here is the 25 tiles. Changes I was hoping for was improved AI paths, better traffic pattern control like dedicated left turns and control of lane usage, and something like the mod Move It. This "remaster" is really underwhelming.
I really want those too, a traffic manager which they could use pc mods for inspiration, and an asset picker to select and place buildings that would otherwise have to be grown from zoning
This is console, those are mods for PC, I’m not sure about PS5 but maybe Xbox will get some more mod support Also they said that there were more features coming soon on Twitter, so have patience

Justice for disc people, just give us codes fgs Disc sharing is such a minor issue, why leave the loyal people on the dark with little to no communication? Ps+ people too who have spent loads on DLCs can’t get it either. Paradox clearly not caring about us at all. The console game was built on discs. @@theyes647 seeing as it was free for the vast majority, hardly. The PS+ stuff is a Sony issue. They claimed to give subscribers the game, but they didn't really. They granted access to it as long as you subscribe. There was no issue with GamePass upgrading it, so it's not a Paradox issue.
I tried the improved version, it is beautiful and wonderful, but there are some disadvantages, which is that the first version there were streets and roads that were removed from the improved version.
They will be added later since the Remaster supports updates until Airports. Any DLC/CCP/updates released after Airports will be added in future updates
Liking the update and great job. Would have loved a version of move it and traffic manager cause the ai and their 1 lane. Plus some mechanic to have the same type of building for an area and parking lots.
@@joec9178 yes its possible i know have done the same but sometimes i have to avoid builds that have 2 lanes of highway joining a 2 lane road cause the traffis does a u-turn there and have no way of avoiding it. And traffic despawning is a major reason it reaches those numbers
Great video, question from Series X/S owners though, traffic management, the AI is awful and I do hope we get a traffic solution before Todd Howard releases Starfield. Anyway apart from that, well done Tantalus and Paradox for getting this in the hands of Cities Skylines players.
Cool, but it does feel a little rushed, also could you make it so that grids are created better (you place 1 Road slightly wrong and your entire grid breaks and your wall to walls buildings look bad)
@@xephosbot I agree that’s almost always a landscape issue. If the OP destroys the road then evens it out should fix the problem. It’s that way on PC too
Tbh this wait was not worth it at all. For a remaster this is a joke. All of this could of been done on the old gen. Just without the fancy graphics update and tiles. I would of been happy with that. If you have the old gen version play that instead. Atleast thats actually playable.
Playable is one thing, starting from scratch with zero assets and nothing to use without unlocking first is quite frustrating after spending so many hours unlocking them on the regular version.
Really not sold on this. Glad i kept my expectations in check on this. Was hoping to see more PC mods added in like realistic looks, traffic AI and so on. Plus was hoping after all this time the devs wouldve managed to have finally get in more western/US looking street signs, vehicles and trains assets. Sure its minor stuff to others and I hope everyone else enjoys it. But this is it for me. Hopefully the next iteration can address the things I would love to see.
@@servus2634 Oh paying for the DLC is fine for me. Gotta shuffle some extra coin to the dev. And its all 20% off through GP anyways. But my issue is just that for those 7yrs it feels like nothing was really done to try to align the offerings on PC with console. Yeah, I get the 2 are wholly different experience with PC being the most optimum. It just feels theres more they couldve done within that span of time. Plus, I really dont like that using any of the supplied mods like the buildings from creators PUNISHES you the player by disabling your achievements! So heres to hoping CS2 addresses these issues and provides MORE content and tools with less heavy handedness for us console guys.

Paradox the only bone to pick is that I could transfer most of the dlcs except snowfall,train stations,mass transit,park life and I’m not wasting 80$ for them can you fix this bug/glitch
I was excited when i saw this, then i realise I've been playing the ps+ version for years and even though i have purchased pretty much all dlc i got to pay £32.99 for the upgrade excitement ends.
How much is the PS4 version, you could maybe buy that then upgrade on ps5? Not sure if it would work but I have the same problem, not that I'm bothered to play this "remaster" anyway.
I own the digital PS4 version of the game and some DLC. It's asking me to purchase the game again? I don't think the 25 tiles is a cheat, more of an add on? This would stop us getting achievements? Outwith that it looks great :)
Yeah. i bought the full game in october of 2019 on my old PS4 account. in 2020 i made a new PSN account cause I for somewhat reason lost access to my old account. i still had CS installed so i could play it. bought alot of dlcs and put hundreds of hours into it. and now i cant play the same game with more features but at the same time less features on ps5. fucking hell.
I love cities' skylines and will probably continue you to play it for a long time. But I wish they would think about creating a new game and going even more in-depth with it. All the dlcs seem quite limited with the current build of the game.
I am glad to see the remastered version drop on Gamepass even though I see some unhappy players in the comments. The reason I came to love cities is because it presented a challenge, for me anyway. Kudos to the developers, I know they put a lot into their game and they should know that there are many who enjoyed it and will continue to do so!
I have seen some conflicting info about the 25 tiles cheat. A lot including me think that you can only achieve 25 tiles via the cheat option rather than earning them as you go. Is this true or not?
@@LouieBMD oh then im not sure. When I started my new save I pressed it and a warning came on the screen to say that 25 tiles could cause some bugs and all and to have more than one save for your city just in case, so I don’t think you’d be able to unlock it without checking that box. Perhaps you need to do some testing. Just start a new save without any cheats and go to areas, they’ll say how many you can unlock.
I am missing the dlc already purchased as park life mass transit industries and others. They were not installed and in the xbox store ae they show as not obtained
If you bought Bundles or Season Passes on Xbox, Microsoft hasn't actually updated those licences to make them eligible for upgrade yet. For me, it's Season Pass 1 that I can't download. Paradox are aware, it's Microsoft that needs to sort it out.
@@CanadianDadReacts Maps 2 and Plazas haven't been remastered yet. They told us this was the case last week when they announced the remaster; anything after Airports hasn't been remastered yet and will come soon.
Currently all DLCs up until 2023 release of "Airports" are Remastered. We are currently working on the remastered versions of the remaining DLCs (Plazas & Promenades, Financial Districts and all Content Creator Packs and Radio Stations released fall 2022) They will be available soon!

Was waiting for the release to buy £100 worth of DLC. No PS+ upgrade so no customer. It's a shady practice and its already been confirmed to break a number of consumer laws in the UK and EU. I have a PS5 and can afford to buy the game I apparently already own but refuse to support shady companies. You don't even get the upgrade free if you have the physical edition. lol
I’m glad everyone is happy with the 25 tiles and map editor but this roll out was terrible with all the issues with Microsoft Store not recognizing ownership of dlc that was purchased. This was in no way ready for release and after being told to wait 24 hours and try installing dlc with the remaster it still isn’t working.
Only for main buildings and not for little random houses unfortunately. Not sure this is a feature that I'll actually use a lot as I imagine it to be quicker to just select the building I need in the menu rather than using that eyedropper, copying a fire station, then moving it around town to find the spot where I wanted it to then finally pop it down.

Thank you for the update but, there are issues with this update, missing Parks/ Prom, Financial Districts, Map Pack 2, African vibes, Modern Mid Century, Heart of Korea. That's what I found, but could be more issues havnt found yet. Is there going to be a fix.

I really, really, really hope the 25 tiles mod comes to vanilla Skylines on PC for those who play through Geforce Now, where there is no access to the workshop mods. Please CO, don’t just pander to the console players.
If we bought the DLCs in a bundle like a Season Pass, are those going to be able to transfer to remastered? I can't seem to figure out how to do that but the ones I bought as standalones were available immediately to upgrade.

@@transangelgaming Here's my take: It's likely MS fault. The issue here is likely how the "entitlements" (that's what it's called) is set up and didn't flag properly for these pieces of DLC on the store. Where did I come to this conclusion? I've worked in AAA gaming and have experience with MS TRCs for nearly 15 years. Their quality has reduced GREATLY since the age of the X360 by the way. What you CAN blame Paradox for is not being more informative about it (doesn't require finger pointing because no matter who is at fault, you're still out of your content for the time being.) For me, Sure I wish I could jump in now. MS has a litany of other issues with entitlements and the like across multiple titles so this isn't my first rodeo as a consumer either. I just check daily to see if the store eventually reads "owned" which is what will need to happen. You COULD try customer support for MS but frankly, that's also reduced in usability over the years. Your mileage will certainly vary. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the content when it does become available.
The ONLY thing I’ve been looking forward to on console is to be able to control lanes of traffic like they can on those PC mods, I’m tired of having a 6 lane highway with 1,000 cars in 1 lane trying to turn or they get in the lane and then change last minute causing congestion

Possibly they could have pushed a little further. But I have a rtx 3070 on my pc. On my ps5 with everything maxed out for quality, the fans start working OT lol. I also haven’t seen anyone take advantage of all 25 tiles and start hitting near the limits. I hope it doesn’t get too laggy
Having to manually bulldoze so many buildings was the reason i stopped playing on PS4. so seeing the option for them to automatically be done is amazing!!

I feel like this should be added to the ps plus version because when I was obsessed with cities skylines back in 2019 I didnt have the money to buy the game but in like 2020 i made some money, I bought the dlcs because I thought it was the main version, now it's not, I wouldn't complain but I see a ton of people had the same problem and I think if I paid over 120 usd I think could be considered.

Remove 25 titles as a cheat and fix the map editor (some things I can not delete like air paths and boats)

The only really valuable change here is the 25 tiles. Changes I was hoping for was improved AI paths, better traffic pattern control like dedicated left turns and control of lane usage, and something like the mod Move It. This "remaster" is really underwhelming.
I really want those too, a traffic manager which they could use pc mods for inspiration, and an asset picker to select and place buildings that would otherwise have to be grown from zoning
This is console, those are mods for PC, I’m not sure about PS5 but maybe Xbox will get some more mod support
Also they said that there were more features coming soon on Twitter, so have patience

Disc sharing is such a minor issue, why leave the loyal people on the dark with little to no communication? Ps+ people too who have spent loads on DLCs can’t get it either.

The PS+ stuff is a Sony issue. They claimed to give subscribers the game, but they didn't really. They granted access to it as long as you subscribe. There was no issue with GamePass upgrading it, so it's not a Paradox issue.

I tried the improved version, it is beautiful and wonderful, but there are some disadvantages, which is that the first version there were streets and roads that were removed from the improved version.
They will be added later since the Remaster supports updates until Airports. Any DLC/CCP/updates released after Airports will be added in future updates

Liking the update and great job. Would have loved a version of move it and traffic manager cause the ai and their 1 lane. Plus some mechanic to have the same type of building for an area and parking lots.
@@joec9178 yes its possible i know have done the same but sometimes i have to avoid builds that have 2 lanes of highway joining a 2 lane road cause the traffis does a u-turn there and have no way of avoiding it. And traffic despawning is a major reason it reaches those numbers
Great video, question from Series X/S owners though, traffic management, the AI is awful and I do hope we get a traffic solution before Todd Howard releases Starfield. Anyway apart from that, well done Tantalus and Paradox for getting this in the hands of Cities Skylines players.
Cool, but it does feel a little rushed, also could you make it so that grids are created better (you place 1 Road slightly wrong and your entire grid breaks and your wall to walls buildings look bad)
Do you use the 90 degree angle option it helps a lot with making grids

Tbh this wait was not worth it at all. For a remaster this is a joke. All of this could of been done on the old gen. Just without the fancy graphics update and tiles. I would of been happy with that. If you have the old gen version play that instead. Atleast thats actually playable.
Playable is one thing, starting from scratch with zero assets and nothing to use without unlocking first is quite frustrating after spending so many hours unlocking them on the regular version.

Was hoping to see more PC mods added in like realistic looks, traffic AI and so on. Plus was hoping after all this time the devs wouldve managed to have finally get in more western/US looking street signs, vehicles and trains assets.
Sure its minor stuff to others and I hope everyone else enjoys it. But this is it for me. Hopefully the next iteration can address the things I would love to see.

But my issue is just that for those 7yrs it feels like nothing was really done to try to align the offerings on PC with console.
Yeah, I get the 2 are wholly different experience with PC being the most optimum. It just feels theres more they couldve done within that span of time.
Plus, I really dont like that using any of the supplied mods like the buildings from creators PUNISHES you the player by disabling your achievements!
So heres to hoping CS2 addresses these issues and provides MORE content and tools with less heavy handedness for us console guys.

Paradox the only bone to pick is that I could transfer most of the dlcs except snowfall,train stations,mass transit,park life and I’m not wasting 80$ for them can you fix this bug/glitch
Having a detailed snapping option for roads would be nice. Fine tuning the streets so they look more natural.

I was excited when i saw this, then i realise I've been playing the ps+ version for years and even though i have purchased pretty much all dlc i got to pay £32.99 for the upgrade excitement ends.

Yeah. i bought the full game in october of 2019 on my old PS4 account. in 2020 i made a new PSN account cause I for somewhat reason lost access to my old account. i still had CS installed so i could play it. bought alot of dlcs and put hundreds of hours into it. and now i cant play the same game with more features but at the same time less features on ps5. fucking hell.

I love cities' skylines and will probably continue you to play it for a long time. But I wish they would think about creating a new game and going even more in-depth with it. All the dlcs seem quite limited with the current build of the game.
I am glad to see the remastered version drop on Gamepass even though I see some unhappy players in the comments. The reason I came to love cities is because it presented a challenge, for me anyway.
Kudos to the developers, I know they put a lot into their game and they should know that there are many who enjoyed it and will continue to do so!

I have seen some conflicting info about the 25 tiles cheat. A lot including me think that you can only achieve 25 tiles via the cheat option rather than earning them as you go. Is this true or not?
I saw the QnA on their forum but would like to check with any players first before starting a new save.
yes, its a cheat, if you dont press it you'll only have 9 tiles, but apparently you can turn it on later in game if you want.

@@LouieBMD oh then im not sure. When I started my new save I pressed it and a warning came on the screen to say that 25 tiles could cause some bugs and all and to have more than one save for your city just in case, so I don’t think you’d be able to unlock it without checking that box. Perhaps you need to do some testing. Just start a new save without any cheats and go to areas, they’ll say how many you can unlock.

If you bought Bundles or Season Passes on Xbox, Microsoft hasn't actually updated those licences to make them eligible for upgrade yet. For me, it's Season Pass 1 that I can't download. Paradox are aware, it's Microsoft that needs to sort it out.
@@CanadianDadReacts Maps 2 and Plazas haven't been remastered yet. They told us this was the case last week when they announced the remaster; anything after Airports hasn't been remastered yet and will come soon.
Currently all DLCs up until 2023 release of "Airports" are Remastered. We are currently working on the remastered versions of the remaining DLCs (Plazas & Promenades, Financial Districts and all Content Creator Packs and Radio Stations released fall 2022) They will be available soon!

Was waiting for the release to buy £100 worth of DLC. No PS+ upgrade so no customer. It's a shady practice and its already been confirmed to break a number of consumer laws in the UK and EU.
I have a PS5 and can afford to buy the game I apparently already own but refuse to support shady companies. You don't even get the upgrade free if you have the physical edition. lol

I’m glad everyone is happy with the 25 tiles and map editor but this roll out was terrible with all the issues with Microsoft Store not recognizing ownership of dlc that was purchased. This was in no way ready for release and after being told to wait 24 hours and try installing dlc with the remaster it still isn’t working.
I get your frustration but that’s more a Microsoft issue then a paradox issue

Does the eyedropper work for every building ? Like for a house or a shop?? Or is it only for pre-existing building like a school or a police station ?
Only for main buildings and not for little random houses unfortunately.
Not sure this is a feature that I'll actually use a lot as I imagine it to be quicker to just select the building I need in the menu rather than using that eyedropper, copying a fire station, then moving it around town to find the spot where I wanted it to then finally pop it down.

Thank you for the update but, there are issues with this update, missing Parks/ Prom, Financial Districts, Map Pack 2, African vibes, Modern Mid Century, Heart of Korea. That's what I found, but could be more issues havnt found yet. Is there going to be a fix.

Yeah, and Synthetic Dawn is among the best radio stations too. Hard to play without it (oh and Industries is pretty handy also.)

The issue here is likely how the "entitlements" (that's what it's called) is set up and didn't flag properly for these pieces of DLC on the store. Where did I come to this conclusion? I've worked in AAA gaming and have experience with MS TRCs for nearly 15 years. Their quality has reduced GREATLY since the age of the X360 by the way. What you CAN blame Paradox for is not being more informative about it (doesn't require finger pointing because no matter who is at fault, you're still out of your content for the time being.)
For me, Sure I wish I could jump in now. MS has a litany of other issues with entitlements and the like across multiple titles so this isn't my first rodeo as a consumer either. I just check daily to see if the store eventually reads "owned" which is what will need to happen. You COULD try customer support for MS but frankly, that's also reduced in usability over the years. Your mileage will certainly vary. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the content when it does become available.
I appreciate that you've given us an updated version. But not being able to use our old saves seems to make this version almost pointless.

Possibly they could have pushed a little further. But I have a rtx 3070 on my pc. On my ps5 with everything maxed out for quality, the fans start working OT lol. I also haven’t seen anyone take advantage of all 25 tiles and start hitting near the limits. I hope it doesn’t get too laggy

Just a question why did you make it a whole different game rather than just an update because now i have to unlock every monument again.
I feel like this should be added to the ps plus version because when I was obsessed with cities skylines back in 2019 I didnt have the money to buy the game but in like 2020 i made some money, I bought the dlcs because I thought it was the main version, now it's not, I wouldn't complain but I see a ton of people had the same problem and I think if I paid over 120 usd I think could be considered.
