Seriously, you dont hear much names when they talk about stuntmen, but Reeves just doesnt let anyone behind. Truly a pure heart in Hollywood,
Sadly, I bet a lot of self-centered Hollywood stars dont even know who the stunt doubles are when they film a movie. You can tell Keanu actually respects the "behind the scenes" people that he works with.

@@risingsun_gt With the way he speaks it's one of the reasons he likes making films. Just consider how many times he says it's "fun". He's not doing it for fame (though I'm sure that's a boon) but because he enjoys making them and working with fantastic people like those who train him in the fighting and what not.
@@risingsun_gt I wouldn't be so sure... They may not mention them in interviews, and that's sad, but they probably know them pretty well. You see, you don't always get a new stunt person... you very often get the same one because, well, he looks like you! From one movie to the next, the best stunt person for you is most likely the one that pulled it off last time! ;-)
He mentions by name EVERYONE he works with. He credits the people who deserve credit. That makes him an amazing human being.

Keanu Reeves was so impressed by his stunt double in The Matrix that he spent years putting together a movie with the man as the starring role. Eventually, he managed to get it made: Man of Tai Chi. Now that is a friend. He helped produce the film and shopped it around based on his friendship and the fact that he felt Tiger Chen was so good at what he did that he deserved to be in front of the camera as the main focus.
Keanu is a pretty incredible person.
Musk could learn from his crediting skills.

His sister battled leukemia (thankfully, she survived); his best friend died at 23; his own child was stillborn; the mother of his child died 2 years later... it's not hard to feel like he was thinking of River, Jennifer and Ava 😞
You can hear his voice breaking while he is answering.
That's why he started with "I know..." That is such a powerful line... Everybody can relate to this answer regardless of religion or culture

It was a rhetorical question. And audiences laugh along. And keanu take a deep breath and answer with different perspective and for a second everyone having a flashback of someone they're missing. The answer just hit you, and the reaction are priceless

The "what happens when we die" question is one of oldest philosophical questions in existence. Yet this is best answer to it I've ever heard.
Yes, such a simple answer, that ignores any races, religions, cultures, continents, political views, sexual orientations... That simplicity and relatability makes it universally true...

The first time I watched this video I "just" felt for Keanu and Stephen since I knew they´ve lost loved ones. That was in May 2019, and 5 months later my mom died. I found this quote today and this time it hits completely different.
When you lose love ones you know what those words mean. Especially when your elders start to pass away, my father for example 6 years ago. You listen to that it reminds you of how true that is

Once in a while I go back to this clip, just to listen to his last words in this interview, for 2 or 3 minutes, in a loop. The question, the deep breath he takes and that heart felt answer sprinkled with a little voice crack and coming from his real life experiences, Colbert speechlessness and finally Keanu’s facial expression in the end… This moment is pure poesy and it makes me tear up…
You could see Stephen taken back. He lost his 2 elder siblings and father when he was 10. Keanu's answer just hits him deep. Moments like these stick with you. You can feel it in your own lives and relate with it. The more you listen to such things the more wisdom you gain. Bless him.

@ Colbert is good at reading the scripts his writers give him for the monologues, but he's the worst interviewer I have ever seen. He's always awkward and makes the guests visibly nervous and he doesn't help flow the conversation along like you see other talk show hosts do, instead he just stares at them like a creep.

what an amazing human being. he doesnt even try to show he is nice and everyone feeling it. that shows how pure hearted he is. they say when you deserve anything (in this case attention of people) that you do not need it.
The fact that he remembers the horse trainers name and the stunt people. Not many actors mention these people. He is a real professional and gentlemen.

I suspect that determining a winner for the title of "Nicest guy in [place]," is a futile endeavour. The same way that trying to decide who's the most beautiful woman in the world, would be an impossible and endless task. It's simply impossible to single out a clear winner, who quite saliently stands out from the pack of upsettingly beautiful women/ depressingly nice guys.

That's the kind of thing we'll never be able to confirm. Maybe, maybe not. None of us will ever know. I got tired of hearing this after my mom's passing. I know people try to make me feel better, but as a non believer (agnostic), it's only making me more depressed.
I lost my father too last year. I went on my first solo trip this year and there were little things e.g. locks for luggage, euro in coins, i found when cleaning the house that helped me on my trip. He was giving me things to help me so I'm greatful for that.

It’s poetic and has double meaning here.. if you don't know Stephen Colbert also lost close family members in a car accident when he was young. They both lost close people to them and I think in the very moment Keanu said it; "Stephen felt it". Also Stephen Colbert is openly a religious man (catholic) and for once heard an answer that is 100% true that is not from an authoritive or in any way assumptive. Love it or hate it Religion tends to assume to have all the answers especially to what happens to us when we die, keanu gave a brilliant truthful answer while staying humble! Love it! Stephen was speechless!

I love Stephen's reaction to what Keanu said at the end. You could see that the words really surprised him and made him think. He had no idea that was what Keanu was gonna say, and it really hit him in a special way. I love how simple and unpretentious it is. No grand idea of an afterlife, just about the people we love and who love us. Thank god for Keanu, a true treasure of a human being.

I loved Stephen's reaction also to Keanu's answer as a simple and honest truth spoken from the heart.
Regardless of anyone's opinion about the afterlife, including Keanu's (that he diplomatically didn't mention), the fact that those who care about us grieve is real. What I loved is how he framed the sentence. Rather than worry about a hypothetical afterlife he might go through, he worried about those left behind & his tone can also imply that what matters is the impact we leave behind on others, the lives we lived.
