    I love watching the MD-88 take off, especially knowing that Delta retired the aircraft just over a month ago. They will truly be missed, but I'm excited to see what Delta has coming in the future!

    Happy retirement to the md-80. I watch these things take off from Dallas-Fort Worth Airport for years because I worked there. It was a pleasure to watch these Majestic Birds take flight on a daily basis. Awesome video.

    Awesome videos! Love the extra content/information on the aircraft and it’s current flight. A lot of time must really go into these videos. I just let them play on my TV and watch (my wife thinks I’m weird🤷🏼‍♂️).

      Nolan The dab king I heard a md-88 awhile back at one of the domestic terminal drop off areas in Hartsfield. The sound must have bounced of the buildings around it and made it even louder. It sounded like a fighter jet. Everyone turned and looked lol

      And that's just two jet engines at full throttle. I've been at Minot AFB (as a spotter) when they do the drill to scramble a whole bomber fleet of B-52's those things are deafening when they take off. You're talking about 8 JT3D's all at once. Even if you're wearing sound cancelling headphones: the vibration shakes your body and you still hear it. Lol

    The airport is called " Hartsfield-Jackson " for a reason. Former Atlanta Mayor, Maynard Jackson, is the reason why the airport is what it is today. Mr. Hartsfield's name is on it, because he was the commissioner, but Mayor Jackson, who is also credited as as a founder of the airport, is the man that put the money and the resources behind the machine and made it what it is today.

    Good God stay off Delta avg age off aircraft 16 years flying a 30 year old md80 not good. I don't give a damn what mx it's had or how many sets of engines. Old ass structural fatigue begging for calamity.

    • @LeppAviation
      @LeppAviation  4 года назад +1

      Malamute Aerospace If an aircraft was so unsafe that it would run the risk of structural failure, they wouldn’t be airworthy. MD-80s are some of the best built aircraft ever made and have life left in them, thus some cargo carriers are buying some of DL’s. It does matter what maintenance goes into it. If an aircraft is properly maintained, it will fly for a very long time. Aviation is probably the most regulated industry in terms of safety, so I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t allow an aircraft to fly if they thought it would have a risk of structural failure.
