    Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like Yao was the only one who successfully incorporated a Hakeem inspired style in his post game consistently throughout his career.

      VrQz Silent Yeah, I think Kobe was definately more inspired by jordan. And the nature of his game demanded more high post/baseline touches in the post, which resulted in fadeaway and turnaround shots.

    • @sonix98
      @sonix98 5 лет назад +42

      Looks like Dwight travelled when he spun around.
      Also, the point is to do the shake and get a hookshot or something and not go for a dunk because he won't get that kind of space in a real game perhaps.

    • @sonix98
      @sonix98 5 лет назад +72

      @asian dude Olajuwon is not teaching him how to dunk. He's trying to teach footwork, post moves, spin, hook shots. You're not gonna have the luxury to dunk all the time.

      LeBron: Passing, IQ, Scoring, Rebounds, Steals (career 1.7 per game), blocks, on and off ball d, handles, finishing, dunks, and clutchness (see 2016 Finals).
      Hakeem: Scoring, IQ, Rebounds, Blocks, On and Off ball D, Finishing, Passing.

      Mo Wat & MiNNEAPOLiSTiLLiDiE There was this guy that used to play in Chicago that was all around too with the complete offensive & defensive repertoire along with the intangibles.
      This guy had bball IQ, SCORING [ball in hand and catch & shoot], CLUTCH [2pt, 3pt, passing, rebounding, free throws, defending], will-to-win, finisher, quickness, on/off ball defense (learned @ school of Dean Smith), steals, blocks, underrated passer & rebounder (ex: see move to PG in '89), athleticism, hang time, great body control, hand-size, not turnover-prone, leader, post game, go-to-moves [fadeaway from outside & reverse layup from inside], footwork, fundamentals, creativity, handles, could use both hands, efficient, strength, mental toughness, stamina, etc, etc, etc.......then add the fact that his game went up in the playoffs, if you talked about him before or during the game (whether it be a coach, fan, the media or opposing player) or if he was sick or injured.
      Seriously, What do y'all think about him?

    The dream shake is the hardest to learn ..because it’s not just one move but many moves ..depends on the defense gives you and how to counter it.. and how to work on your footwork beautifully ..if you do it wrong it looks ugly and worst you traveling ..my opinion Hakeem , Jordan , Kobe were the best ..and no body even bother to learn it again either it’s so hard or they just want to shoot 3

    I wish other legends took the time to pass on their championship level skills on to the next generation. Imagine if Larry Bird was giving out 3 point shooting lessons after his retirement or if Jordan was handing out flight lessons.

      3 point shooting is more of a thing you learn naturally as an nba player but with hakeem it’s different cuz he has a variety of moves

    • @Hoops_head
      @Hoops_head 4 года назад +1

      Tony Song how so. Okafor is still a good post player. Too bad this is 2020 and coaches would rather see players shoot 1000 3s than actual post play.

      @@tonysong8236 maybe not but the potential is there. Take lebron for example he'll never be a great 3 pt shooter but he can average at least 35%.

    Lebron, Dwight, Kobe, Yao, Valanciunas, Sengun, Melo and probably a lot more nba-players have high praise off working out with Hakeem. And that's no suprise really. Arenas is a clown and dosent deserve any amount of respect, not even from another circus show.

    I gotta say Dwight Howard’s footwork really did improve once he worked with Hakeem. Didn’t always make the hook but his footwork usually looked clean
