I care for stray cats any time they show up in my neighborhood. I used to on average see two kitten batches per year, averaging four-five kittens per batch. I adopted out the ones I could. But you don't always find them homes. That's what prompted me to just neuter the ones that show up. since I started to neuter and spay the males and females, I've only had one "new" stray cat show up in the last three years. TNR does work, and shame on anyone that is trying to get rid of these programs.
Thank you so much for doing TNR! I understand lots of ppl get upset when they want to kill invasive ferals, but doing TNR is the next best alternative and I can't believe they are getting rid of it. It's been the main/sole weapon in controlling these populations. Human beings can be just so stupid, like ppl randomly feeding ferals outside and creating these colonies that would not exist naturally in nature due to food competition. Now that they have these ppl feeding them more than enough food, they spend the rest of their time hunting native animals for sport. Thank you so much for trying to control the population and doing your part to help! People like you give me hope that we can finally start healing and helping nature.

@@belmum1689 WHAT they were made to live on the streets just not human ones lol They are wild animals that are meant for outdoors that we made dependent on us for food. Thats why they stick around in the streets instead of hunting rodents and shit for food. Cuz humans give em free food.

Years ago many if not all cats lived outside, the reason why birds in most areas die isn't from the feral cats that are cared for, but is the direct effect of humans taking away their habitat by over building (food supply) and the overuse of pesticides that's what's killing the birds.
Marisa - That is so true. When the agricultural revolution started, about 15000 years ago I think, the new towns attracted animals like rats and mice, so there were a lot more of them than there used to be, and soon the cats followed. Humans found cats useful in keeping the rodents down. I my experience cats prefer rodents, lizards, and insects to birds, as a small bird offers little in sustenance compared to the effort in getting them. So in effect, the amount of land urbanised, even in some of the most urbanised countries, is relatively small in comparison to the rural area. To blame a lack of biodiversity simply on cats is wrong.
I have 9 cats, and always in my garden freely. I feed the wild birds, ring neck doves, native birds, and my cats never bothered them because they're well fed.
Imagine not understanding how evolution works, they will breed until there is not enough for feeding then they'll start to hunt, then theylll breed some more until they reach near starvation this is equilibrium. Stupid cat lover
So by her own logic, how we treat animals is a reflection of our humanity? So all the caged orcas, dolphins and other creatures we put in cages… in Zoos, circuses… what does that say? That’s the problem with “ cat people” they will dismiss and ignore every other animal except a cat. Cats always get a free pass.
This documentary was executed perfectly. As a TNR trapper myself, I've seen cat populations dwindle slowly. I understand with the wildlife committee that the cat should not be in our native environment, but right now TNR is the best solution. We have to look at it this way, what would be better? Countless numbers of starving cats hunting wildlife every second to survive, or a controlled smaller number of well fed cats that will predate less often? I've had both managed ferals and birds eating together.
@@cloud4565 They are going to be illegal in most neighborhoods soon unless you live in some crack ghetto. In fact the state workers tear them down already and trap as many cats as they can and what ? find them homes? Not! They dispose of most of them cause they cannot home them.
@@barrycollins795 yeah but it will significantly cut down on the numbers of new cats which will reduce the amount of natives killed since there isn't a growing population of cats. Over time, there numbers would dwindle which gives natives the best chance. There's no way you can get people in America to support the capture and eithanizing of large numbers of feral cats.
Feral cats do not try to kill bird. They look for food in neighborhoods or dumpster. A lot of them die by cars, coyote. They die due to lack of water, disease. The life span of a feral cat is less than two years. But because of people dumping cat out. This why we have this problem. Shelters are over full
I am thankful to God that people are actually out there trying to help humanely solve the problem. TNR worked in my neighborhood. It takes effort, but it works!
A lot of so called ecology experts are bribed by corporatist developer's and other corporatist interests, as well as those who don't think cats, the poor and other social problems they consider as not fitting into Thier planned communities of boring hygemony. Why doesn't the environmentalist or ecologist speak against or stop developer's who displace wild life exponentially more then a cat that can fit into that ecosystem. At least the cat is not bill dozing everything to artificially inseminate domestic landscapes and structures that wildlife can't use and If they try humans do everything to eliminate them from their habitat they stole from them
The cat was created for a reason just like the human was. If people continue to let them be feral instead giving them a life of full contentment and happiness it does come down to what is right or wrong. I know that people love the "kitten" but don't really think about the future of the cat. How long will it live what does he need to live happy. So when the cat gets older and they get tired of it and want a "new pet" they get rid of the cat and live life never thinking about what they just did. SAD but true. TNR is a way to make sure that unwanted cats and kittens aren't being born left out in the cold. Thank you for helping these babies. God put them here for a reason just like we are.
Yeah I agree with this! Honestly a lot of domestic animals are treated more like shiny toys than living breathing beings with emotional intelligence, which is awful and sad to me. A cat or dog should be treated like a member of the family and given the same level of care as a human child, instead of something meant to entertain us. This is something too many of us take for granted and it's the main reason there's so much animal abuse today unfortunately.
Yeah it's the same argument they use in abortion where not aborting is gonna cause more babies to be born in shitty life situations where they are abused or neglected and end up in foster homes or the system. By doing TNR, you will ensure the best way to control these cat populations. It will prevent large litters being born and having these kittens die on the street due to large population
Letting feral cats reproduce is definitely a negative outcome, whether or not someone decides to kill cats that pose problems for property owners. A policy solution might be more consistent and effective in reducing feral cat populations: TNR requires funding and manpower. I personally favor TNR and do TNR on my own in my neighborhood.
I hate the argument “cats are native” or calling them “invasive”. Most urban areas traditional apex predators were displaced by civilization. Nature’s rule is adapt or die. Without stress, birds would cease to fly and evolve into groundlings. The exception are the delicate isolated areas in ecological peril due to invasive cats.
I highly disagree with some of the things people said in this video, but both sides gave their opinion. I didnt quite appreciate the video until I realized what it was: a fantastic illustration of the parties involved. Helps better understand the other sides stance or how they think. It's educational, even if the other side is wrong, it still shows what you are up against. I would choose to respect the native wildlife instead of any invasive animal...I am not interested in living in cat island over my awesome biodiverse ecosystem!
" It's educational, even if the other side is wrong, it still shows what you are up against. I would choose to respect the native wildlife instead of any invasive animal...I am not interested in living in cat island over my awesome biodiverse ecosystem!" Yeah, it really appears you learned a lot. "I would choose to respect the native wildlife instead of any invasive animal...I am not interested in living in cat island over my awesome biodiverse ecosystem!" If you truly believe that then you should end yourself (not telling you to, just pointing out obvious inescapable logic, given what you just said, and the reasoning below), because the number of extinction events that have been caused by humans makes those extinction events by cats to be for all practical purposes, near zero. Cats haven't fished 90% of the ocean's human food source biomass, or 60% of the animals in total, on the planet, OR made extinct nearly as many bird species, since we're on the subject, or caused global warming, or destroyed animal habitat at ever increasing rates. People keep talking about the fact that animals are going to be in trouble. They ARE in trouble, many many of them to the point of no return. And if there is ANY TRULY invasive species on the planet, it is MAN. We started in Africa, period. Now what areas do we inhabit? I'll tell you, every area that is habitable, and many that really are not, except by technology and external support. What do you think of that argument? We are in one of the largest and fastest extinction events that has occurred on this planet, one caused exclusively by us. Eventually we are going to put the Chixilub asteroid event, and all the ice ages, and all the super volcanoes, and every other extinction event put together to shame. Eventually we will wipe out every animal species, save the ones we eat (and will eat, and it will be all of the edible ones, species we don't now), probably even those once we can cost effectively lab grow meat (they already are, just not remotely cost effective, but it will come). In case you haven't noticed you are seeing more and more sources preparing you to eat bugs. I've seen them ground up to make pastes out of, eaten directly, etc. And folks trying them out, with obvious repulsion, and saying yeah, they're fine, properly prepared, which means making them look and taste nothing like bugs, basically. People have been eating bugs since the dawn of man, but I'll bet you haven't, yet, certainly not as a staple. The rate of the rate of human caused extinction is increasing, and eventually that will include a VERY large percentage of humankind dying of starvation, many already do. Wars are already being fought over water, and the west is QUICKLY running out of it, and I mean REALLY running out of it. Most of the reservoirs there hold a tiny percentage of their capacities, are at minimums since they were created, and just single digit years from drying up, if something doesn't change. Unfortunately something is, because it's making it worse, not better. Many of the dams there will soon be at dead water levels, meaning that no flow will occur through them. At that point the sh*t will have more than hit the fan there, those major rivers will be dry. Then they will have to desalinize, which is very expensive, or ship water from elsewhere, and everywhere , or virtually everywhere else in the US is becoming dryer, as well. And we're worried about CATS?! That is humans in a nutshell. Now, let's discuss the current Dems vs Pubs BS, rather than facing REAL issues, like public and private debt that is bankrupting this country, or the fact that arable land is disappearing by leaps and bounds, and there will NEVER be more of it (overuse, non rotation, GMO caused problems, animals for consumption, etc) or about 50 other VERY serious problems I could pick. Idiots depress me.

Hey Jane, you dumb twat, what Texan was trying to say (and clearly went over your crazy cat lady head) was that if cats weren't cute and fuzzy, people wouldn't give a shit whether they were euthanized or not.
If more people would be responsible and humane pet owners there wouldn't be a problem. To much cruelty and over breeding in general let alone ignorance in the actual needs of an animal. I hope videos like this can change the hearts and minds (thought process)of those without either.
I am trying to figure that out myself, the reason I am here. For some people, all they can see is the cat, but they are narrow minded, and can not think past the cat, can not think of wildlife. If they played chess, they can't think beyond one move at a time, they cant comprehend tomorrows but only today. Their regard for the many species and many animals does not exist. Their misguided compassion makes them choose a cat vs all the hundreds of wild that will be destroyed. And they nake money off of organizing and their propaganda and getting contributions from narrow minded people. Its a business also. What I have surmised do far. Ignorant cat owners with knee jerk reactions come and bully the folks that are seeing the full picture, that understand ecosystems, vs wanting to live on cat island Japan.
Wolverines only want to live in peace and to pursue their happy lives without fear. They don't want to be pets but they would be happy to live free in urbain areas where pets and trash cans and other game are plentiful. And they're just so cute and furry.
None of these go after breeders there are some decent breeders but the majority are not licensed and don't pay taxes some people make over 40,000 a year on selling cats. Each year over 1million cats and dogs are put down to over crowding in US shelters including puppies and kittens. Keep your cats inside! Build a catio, leash train them. They are domesticated animals they don't need to run free!
This video is years old. It didn't work in places like Australia and New Zealand. They are now legally labelled as pest and there are machines that have been built to kill them.
I picked up a motherless feral kitten from my woods one day, while I was on my way back from a long sit in my tree stand, (I Guarantee the Coyotes had something to do with this.) I can honestly say, it was like I had a dog. He had no cat qualities about him, aside from using a litter box. I'll always see him as the best pet I've had. (I never got him fixed, I am almost certain he just ran away one night looking for tail.) I let him come and go through my house of his own accord. (a while later, kittens under my house, but he never showed back up.) I guess I just wrote this so someone could have some reading material.
I'm glad you gave him shelter, food, and a loving friend to snuggle with. =) I had a cat when I was about 10 who acted like a dog as well. He walked me to and from my bus stop every single day and was always waiting in the bush at my bus stop at 3:30pm or so when I came home! I was devastated when he disappeared and I cried for weeks on end. I'll never forget my childhood cat named Lucky.
Honestly, I know I'm late to say this, but I feel like I have to stick up for Feral Cats. They are not necessarily a problem. It is only truly domesticated cats, as well as semi-domesticated cats (such as those in Feral Cat Colonies), that actually posses a problem for the Ecosystem. They (semi-domesticated Feral Cats & Fully Domesticated House Cats) tend to be awake during the day, prey on small mammals (primarily Wood Chucks, Squirrels, and Ground Squirrels) & MANNY Song-Birds, concentrating their predation on small, tiny areas, and not only that, but whole populations of these semi-domesticated Feral Cats will congregate into a single, tiny area (I.E. a Feral Cat Colony) thereby further concentrating their predation into these tiny areas, and thus absolutely destroying the Ecosystem. However, for truly Wild Feral Cats, they tend to have MUCH larger Home-Ranges, thereby spreading out their predation & causing less of an impact on the Ecosystem as a whole, their populations are more spread-out (I.E. not forming colonies), active only at night (waking up at dusk, and going to sleep at dawn), preying on small mammals (primarily Mice & Rats), insects, reptiles, amphibians, and the OCCASIONAL Bird (mostly during the short period of time that Feral Cats will be awake during Dusk & Dawn). Which is why I say we should treat Feral Cats as we do Coyotes, as WILD animals, not as some ones PETS.
Feeding a feral cat does not stop its indiscriminate killing of wildlife. Spaying and neutering does not stop the indiscriminate killing of wildlife. According to the Smithsonian feral and domestic cats kill 9 BILLION songbirds annually and 9-11 BILLION amphibians and small mammals. Australia has had 22 species sent to extinction because of feral cats. The only control method for feral cats is destruction. I kill an average of 12 per year on my farm and that has been consistent for the last 25 years. I had the only nesting pair of Henslow's Sparrows that biologist from the University of Tennessee had found in a two year search. A feral cat found them killed and ate one and just left the other laying. Had a feral cat kill 13 of my daughters 2/3ds grown baby ducks. Didn't eat them, just killed them. I've spent most of my 50 plus years outside and have seen first hand the destruction they can cause.
Very well said! I definitely agree with your analysis on the predation patterns of domestic vs. feral cats, as this understanding can be helpful in efficiently solving this issue without euthanizing them! One thing I would propose is to keep domesticated cats mostly indoors to stop them from over predating certain prey species, and allowing fully feral cats to roam the wild as they please, if domesticating them isn't an available option. I also believe that better regulation of the pet industry in general would also help to fix this problem, as the overpopulation of cats was something started by humans. I really appreciate your two-sense here!
The cruelty of a few humans is unbelievable. I know this I'm not a violent person I'm not an angry person. I will however become that way if I were to ever come across someone torturing an 11 lb or so basically defenseless creature who has no idea why these horrible painful debilitating things are being done to it. Please keep that away from me. I say this because I'm not sure I would be able to control my base instincts. Whomever my anger was driected towards would find themselves in a fight for thier lives.
What are your feelings when you see a 11 pound cat torturing a smaller prey animal. What are your feelings when a cat kills 14 quail and doesn't east a single one or 12 two-thirds grown ducks, or a half dozen rabbits? Australia has had 22 wildlife species driven to extinction by one thing, feral cats. I don't believe in torture of animals. I've seen first hand what feral cats do. There is nothing more damaging to the landscape than a feral cat. Check out the Smithsonian's website if you want to get the numbers on the BILLIONS of birds, small mammals and amphibians killed by feral cats.

Cats are living beings that are brought in this world with a purpose, just as we humans do…we have no right to eradicate them, just because they kill birds, that is nature…..TNR is the best, most humane way to control their population, and also adopting them as pets, because they give so much happiness to us.
My street's demographic is 75% retirees, 20% irresponsible tenants, 5% feral cats. The small street on which i live has 12+ feral cats roaming around. I've tried catching them and can not. They were abandonded by neglectful owner/s who moved out 1year ago. We have few birds, torn up yards, no rodents, overabundance of spiders.
It takes time to win their trust over. They’re most susceptible to human interaction the younger they are. They have to see you daily, preferably at the same time. Sit with them and talk while they eat food u bring. They’ll put the word out that your decent and the whole colony will be in ur yard. Don’t be the ignorant tenant. U can do it
Sure. Cats are very territorial. When you remove cats and euthanize them, that area will just be infiltrated by more feral cats. Whereas, when you trap a feral, neuter it and return it to that same territory, you have left no gap in that area for more unneutered feral to move in and multiply. So that area is occupied by neutered or spayed cats that will not further add to the unwanted pet population.
I'm glad more and more people are starting to get how big of a problem that loose cats really are. These dumb cat lovers think this TNR bullshit is a solution. The only solution is to keep the cat inside if you want it to stay alive or between dogs, coyotes and fed up neighbors it's just a matter of time before the pos cat gets what it deserves. They do so much damage to the environment it makes me sick that these ignorant cat lovers try and push this bs that the cats life is worth more than the tiny animals they murder. people building these cat colonies with no respect for the neighbors are going to see them not come home more and more now that folks know that they are saving a shit ton of native wildlife for every loose cat that gets it. Remember it's the cat that is the one doing all the senseless killing but they wanna hate on the ones trying to protect the tiny wildlife. These cat colonies are gonna be a thing of the past unless they want to continue to see people poison them or dogs or coyotes show up and make chew toys out of the worthless cats. Most places (colonies where the cats run loose) they are getting taken down and these irresponsible idiots are deservingly getting the fines. The fines are where the money comes from to put the unhomeable cats down.. They can't even find homes for healthy domesticated cats and keep them fed. All those strays, ferals and even abandoned pet cats they gather up in traps from getting rid of the colony don't even make to the place where they get adopted. Even the kittens are lucky to make it a couple days before they get put down. Good riddance
Maybe if people were willing to feed the TNR cats enough pet food they wouldn’t hunt as much and possibly damage ecosystems. Or keep the cats secured within the barns so that they only hunt infesting rodents.
Well, cats are generally playful, and do usually kill for sport. Cats are some of the most successful hunters out of any animal, but they hardly eat the prey they kill.
Why would ppl want to feed or shelter feral cats? What if they don’t have a rodent problem & just want to be left alone and not bothered by hissing scary feral cats? I’m allergic and feral cats are mean & invasive.
Domesticated cats will kill for necessity if they don't have enough food, and for fun if they do have enough food. Tl;dr, keep your cats indoors IF possible.
@@itsyurmumm8458 they don't kill for "sport".. don't compare their hunting to stupid human ideologies. They are what's called opportunistic hunters. Read up on it, not the same thing at all. It's based out of survival and instinct, It's not something they can control.

It's a urban dilemma because we can't stop urbanizing places that were not meant for urbanization. Think about how people is being left homeless, you think the same people that is ok with people living in the streets cares even a little about animal rights?
Feral cats are closer to the way most cats have evolved and lived for 10,000 years. It’s humans who suddenly changed their minds and decided the only acceptable way to exist is for them to be indoor pets
Unless you want pet cats ran over, getting sick, starting territorial fights, etc. Indoor cats are the Healthiest. Even vets say that indoor cats live longer than outdoor cats.
@@cupiddelocke While I can see where you're coming from, maximum wasn't saying that all domesticated cats should be released to fend for themselves, but that feral born cats should be left to be wild animals, as they have enough instinctual responses that allow them to properly adapt to wild environments like other wild animals. The basic idea is that the cat has survived fine in the wild without human intervention for a VERY long time, so the idea that feral born cats are in as much harm as domestic born cats would be in the wild is at least debatable. And regarding your previous comment, all wild animals are vulnerable to diseases in the wild, so cats aren't exactly at a disproportionate risk of dying from them compared to other mammals. Cars are also man made hazards that kill millions of animals each year, so by your moniker, should we be domesticating wild birds, squirrels, and raccoons more often as well? I disagree. I think it comes down more to developing better transportation that's less harmful to animals/ the environment in general. Regarding territorial cat fights, cats are actually way more pacifist than we think. While fights do occur, they are very rare. Most cats will try to circle and yowl at one another to scare off an intruder rather than immediately throwing claws. And lastly, while it is true that indoor cats tend to have a longer lifespan than outdoor cats, this can also be said for many other animals kept in captivity. Lions for example, have a long lifespan of 25 years in captivity, while those in the wild tend to live only to 12-16 years. This doesn't mean that lions would be happier or safer living in captivity, as they were born to exist outside of human intervention, much like feral-born cats. The point that me and maximum 411 are trying to get at is that feral cats should be treated the same as any other wild animal, as they were born within an environment that would require them to depend on wild instincts, versus domestic born cats, who were raised to depend on the human hand for survival. Since it's true that not all feral cats can be domesticated and given loving homes, it would be better to just leave them to their own devices after neutering them instead of euthanizing them or forcing them to forgo their wild instincts. The first cat like species, Felis silvestris lybica, was roaming the earth before humans even thought of domesticating them, so one could say that feral cats are merely just naturally wild animals that are meant to survive in the wild. Reducing the number of them humanely is definitely necessary to stop bird populations from depleting, but that doesn't mean that every single feral cat should be turned domestic. Furthermore, the issue concerning the overpopulation of cats was created by humans, who bred thousands of them over the course of a millenium for practical and monetary gain, so maybe a better regulation of the pet industry could also be a viable solution? Just something to think about! This is mainly just my opinion though! This wide spread issue is very complicated, and serious discussions on the matter are important in our goal of protecting all animals, so I don't want to come off as if I'm beating up on you or anything! I respect your opinion, and I hope that you understand mine in turn!
I assume there were small cats from south america in the north and i bet you know that but for some reason you asusme the wildlife evolved without them and this was way before human came to americas , ask youself when did they go extinct -recently as last iceage or later , maybe the vikings intrudused a cat plague (not likely)
I have A LOT of cat experience, especially with disabled cats (asthma, arthritis, blindness, etc). I know this is anecdotal, but TNR appears to do a better job of reducing cat populations over time while euthanasia is better at tackling issues like cats wiping out entire native populations of animals. Neutered cats that are well fed still hunt which is a problem. Cats are beloved globally though, so when people figure out that the cats might get euthanized, they stop cooperating. Both options work better in different circumstances
We're still predators. Maaww. Remember we made a Deal. We get rid of the little pesty rodents and you give us shelter. You agreed to that Deal at your own risk and responsability. Miauuu!
TNR is a lovely idea, unfortunately it did not work in my town. I was tired of the cats screeching, peeing, and killing birds on my property. I checked with animal control, and they suggested I bought a trap. I did so, and so far I have caught 7 cats. 6 were ferals, and animal control probably put them down. One had been lost for months and was returned to its owner. There is finally peace on my street. You can have feral cats on your property, but not mine.

The Cathouse fluctuates between 700-1100 cats. They have been featured on National Geographic. They take in the cats with problems. The cats in Lanai were 97% feral. All are now adoptable. They have saved over 3,000 cats and kittens on an small island near Maui. There are problems on every island in Hawaii and they could have sanctuaries on all of them. They have been featured on CBS Sunday Morning. They now have 660 cats and kittens and are in the process of expanding by 500. I was there. They were both the most amazing and peaceful experience that I have ever had. When I was there about forty other people were there too to see it. They are supported worldwide with donations. Cathouse on the Kings is supported worldwide. I have had a problem with TNR because people don't want them in their communities and and they will continue to kill the wildlife. They are already aborting the fetuses/babies when a feral is caught. If people want they could separate the pregnant females and let them have the kittens and remove from the mother when they are ready. A female kitten can become pregnant at five weeks old. A female can be pregnant with multiple males babies at the same time. I have been the the Best Friends Society How to Start an Animal Sanctuary. I am planning to buy an RV and travel to communities with this problem. For people that don't like killing the cats. The cats are KILLING the wildlife. It's a choice. I believe it can be a win/win/win, but it is costly. The Cathouse has a budget of 1.6 million dollars and a vet and vet techs on staff. Lynea, who started the sanctuary 27 years ago, has saved over 38,000 cats and kittens. They also have saved over 800 dogs and puppies. Also peacocks that were released by a neighbor. Cats are natural hunters. My neighbours have very domesticated cats and they love killing birds. So that's bad for wildlife. People choose cats over birds and small mammals, reptiles and marsupials, very sad and strange.
Thanks for ruining my evening! I wasn't waiting to see gross images of the worst behavior of some debased humans. You could at least have us viewers advised. Can only hope those horrid 'people' get what they deserve to the fullest sense.
Its simple, I am a cat lover but I say. . . feral cats need to be eradicated. Put a bounty on all feral cats. The damage they cause to the environment, to the ecosystem is devastating. I don't let my cats out.
You got issues that feel that way I love cats but there's a difference between cats and humans and as Christians you love your neighbor as yourself and your cat is a pet.
The parks & wildlife dude's last name is literally Broman. Like, yo Mr. Broman, is it true you wanna euthanize all the cats? (Awkwardly responds) we want whats besssst for the cats!! What are you talkin about!!
A modest proposal, hunt the cats and prepare the food for homeless shelters. Have students prep and cook the meat so they can learn survival and cooking skills. Win win win.
I just bought a house. I don’t like cats!! I don’t have to! They are EVERYWHERE! My neighbor was verbally aggressive towards me about the cats. It was my first conversation with her and she started it. I was very respectful but walked away feeling bullied into accepting things. I don’t want the cats in my yard!!!! This should be disclosed when a house is being sold!! 😡 my neighbors are about to hate be bc I’m calling animal control. They spray my yard, run and fight through my yard. I’m so not happy!!! As I am NOT an animal person.
Put out a platter of antifreeze in your yard every night. Take back inside in the morning so no evidence. Cats like the sweet taste of it. Kills them in about 3 days.
I agree! We should take in cats and fucking murder them instead of learning from past experiances and finding new solutions. We should ignore the fact that a lot of these animals are kittens that could be socialized and adopted into loving homes. We should get rid of the problem with violence and cruelty, because we're all fucking monsters. If this is the way you think, never get a pet. Not a cat. Not a dog. Nothing. Either educate yourself better, or live a life knowing you would rather kill innocent animals then find better homes for them. Ignorant people like you need to take a step back and hear what your saying.
Do you think it is disgusting for a parent to consent to their child having surgery before the child themself could consent (because they were too young), if the surgery drastically improved their health and quality of life?
I can see where you're coming from with this, but neutering a cat is really helping their quality of life! If an owner is not letting their cat go out and mate, the cat is unable to release their instinctual urges. This causes significant stress on the feline, which usually results in some form of painful cancer that the cat will die from slowly if it isn't caught in time. While the idea of cutting off your cat's balls without their consent sounds awful at first, in reality, the cat will suffer way less without balls, unless their owner allowed them to mate whenever they were in heat, which we definitely don't want, as that will only further perpetuate the problem of cats suffering in poverty.

Brian - humans have the most devastating impact on local ecosystems.

If were up to me I'd kill them all
A lot of so called ecology experts are bribed by corporatist developer's and other corporatist interests, as well as those who don't think cats, the poor and other social problems they consider as not fitting into Thier planned communities of boring hygemony.
I personally favor TNR and do TNR on my own in my neighborhood.
thank you for representing both sides of a difficult and complex situation.
If only there were such a passion to protect human babies......
Huh....
Excellent information! Thanks!

"I would choose to respect the native wildlife instead of any invasive animal...I am not interested in living in cat island over my awesome biodiverse ecosystem!"
If you truly believe that then you should end yourself (not telling you to, just pointing out obvious inescapable logic, given what you just said, and the reasoning below), because the number of extinction events that have been caused by humans makes those extinction events by cats to be for all practical purposes, near zero.
So is dogs. There's a lot of them on the streets and they bite worse than a cat. They also have bigger poop and does larger damage on where I lived.

Coyote food lol
I'm glad you gave him shelter, food, and a loving friend to snuggle with. =) I had a cat when I was about 10 who acted like a dog as well. He walked me to and from my bus stop every single day and was always waiting in the bush at my bus stop at 3:30pm or so when I came home! I was devastated when he disappeared and I cried for weeks on end. I'll never forget my childhood cat named Lucky.
More cats equals less rats. Let's fix humans, not cats.

Can someone explain to me how TNR work, however, Euthanizing doesnt? Is it because of participation rates among volunteers?

But they aren't wild breeds, they become wild again due to necessity and lack of or negative interaction with humans.
Unless you want pet cats ran over, getting sick, starting territorial fights, etc. Indoor cats are the Healthiest. Even vets say that indoor cats live longer than outdoor cats.
Also they have Domestic in the name. Would you release a dog and have them fend for themselves? Probably not.
Nicely balanced.
Yet the native life continues to suffer. How do you rationalise that?
We're still predators. Maaww. Remember we made a Deal. We get rid of the little pesty rodents and you give us shelter. You agreed to that Deal at your own risk and responsability. Miauuu!
Ive actually been taking care of my street cats. I call Barts and they come pick the cats up from my house and get them all taking care of.
You don't deserve to coexist with animals, then. Because human nature deserve better than you.
robertocarlos1305 I sympathize with you but those cats that got put down as you said could have been released in a field or area away from homes.
shandysnanny those cats certainly deserve better than being put down.
They could have just put you out of your misery- would have been less work and your neighbors probably would have appreciated it
Cool, hope every damn one of them was put down. Too bad, the "missing" pet wasn't put down, too.
my town is over run with so call feral cat , i had a dozen cottontail in my yard now i have NONE .but i see plenty of cats now, Australia is doing it right 10 dollars bounty of feral cats
People can't get past their feelings and see the bigger picture!
Put out antifreeze every night. Causes kidney failure and kills them in a day or two. They like the sweet taste.
👏🏼
I love cats. Iv had 2 go missing in last 2 years in my new neighborhood.. I think someone is doing something terrible... I pray for them all the time... really miss my cats
Did u find out whats going on in your neighborhood?
@@backing5284 pretty sure my neighbor is killing them or trapping and rehoming our pets
Quit letting them run loose. It's not safe for them. People can be very cruel.
Best thing about elon : fired you once, fires you twice. 😊
Legalization to be overturned.
Those biologist need to talk about how detrimental humans are to the ecosystem. It would be unethical for them to suggest that because of this humans should be put to death. Like wise it is unethical for them to suggest the solution is to kill these cats.
IT'S CALLED A PACK, NOT A COLONY
wow that intro she is literally comparing children to cats i lost my hope to humanity. please if you agree with that woman please don't reproduce.
Arber Muqaj, You are no kindness to the Animals at all and can tell what Kind of The Family are you coming from?
The world no need the person like you so black heart.
👎👎👎😡😡😡
just some guy without a mustache Unbelievable! I can't believe how obsessed these people become with cats. They need to be stopped. Cats are not on the same level as children. Lots of these crazy cat ladies are comparing them to their children.
Mike S Just because a living being isn't human doesn't make their life not valuable.
just some guy without a mustache maybe to her they ARE her kids. What the fuck do you care about how she feels or sees cats?
Angels at work
Please check out the Cathouse on the Kings in Parlier, CA (12 acres all fenced in to keep them in) and the Lanai Cat Sanctuary (3 acres with cat fencing). This is a wonderful video. Thank you for it.
I like that the cats are being killed. At least this place has them locked up. I just wish we could be like Australia and post the cullings proudly instead of letting these uninformed protectors of a murdering invasive species try to make us feel bad for doing good pest control and protecting native wildlife.
@@scottpavlovich2789 Something tells me you like the killing cats part more than the saving wildlife part -- I mean, you even said it yourself. Not for nothing but you're really bad at hiding your grotesque schadenfreude.
Well in this video its men's opinion vs women's opinion and women always win, so in this case, the cats win.
Definitely a case of who has the pussy, wins.
I think there are a lot of humans that don't deserve a cat.
Leaving cats out at night to kill native birds reptiles and marsupials.
Neuted cats same applies, I own a spoilt cat.
Rats are God's creatures too. And are far less dangerous and more easily domesticated than cats. We should set up rat havens so they can live out their lives without being terrorised by vicious predators.
Texas Ray and let them overpopulate and have thousands of the running down the streets giving us diseases and soon they will run out of food because there is to many and die
Spoken like a true and harsh cat hater.
True KingEthan- Same exact thing is happening with ferals
Rats screw up the cabling of your house and spread diseases, you southern inbred.
Truth !
You have to be really evil to hurt a innocent animal its not their fault they live on the streets, it's human beings fault.
If you can judge a society by how animals are treated, none score very high. #vegan

Nothing worse for the wildlife than feral cats. I kill at least 12 in a given year on my farm. None of them sick or malnourished.
says a future serial killer. Apathy is a dangerous thing.
Cool. If you can't do that, which is actually fun, antifreeze is the next best thing.
Cats are natural hunters. My neighbours have very domesticated cats and they love killing birds. So that's bad for wildlife. People choose cats over birds and small mammals, reptiles and marsupials, very sad and strange.
Im a savage
Thanks for ruining my evening! I wasn't waiting to see gross images of the worst behavior of some debased humans. You could at least have us viewers advised. Can only hope those horrid 'people' get what they deserve to the fullest sense.
The biologist is incorrect, another biologist said the same thing and killed 40k elephants in africa. You don't have a balanced philosophy.
Kočka je úžasný zvíře je třeba jim pomáhat eutanazie to je hrozně každá živá bytost má právo na ziŽivot a😢😢😢😢
Its simple, I am a cat lover but I say. . . feral cats need to be eradicated. Put a bounty on all feral cats. The damage they cause to the environment,
to the ecosystem is devastating. I don't let my cats out.
Everyone for tnr are mamas and Everyone against are men!!! Sooo funny!
Cats are like babies to these women! The maternal instinct at play!
Cis dude here. I joined tnr bc I have compassion for animals whos worse enemy is ignorant community members
Wiy don’t people get fixed because there killing tiger and utter anamil that’s my opinion
Cats have a purpose in the world. Sighting in your rifle.
Excellent point!
Jeffrey thinks he's so tough !
Oh my God I’m at that woman’s house smells like cat piss
The "C" in "TCU" stands for "Christian." The Jesus I read about in my Bible doesn't sound like someone who would round up and kill a bunch of cats.
As I am NOT an animal person.
the presence of cats and there urine can keep mice and rats away, they hate the cat smell,
@@jeffmarshall1494 That is the wimpiest, most limp-dick answer I have ever read in my life!
Put out a platter of antifreeze in your yard every night. Take back inside in the morning so no evidence. Cats like the sweet taste of it. Kills them in about 3 days.
Not trying to be dismissive or a bully but how exactly do cats being in your yard hurt you specifically?
I love cats. They’re the most loving and loyal creatures
Kill em all
Sure , killing native wildlife and harming an ecosystem is very LOYAL
@@sam-sh2hc Cats are born predators. That's like saying you're bad cause you piss, eat and like sex.

Cats are a great source of coyote food!
Even don't like cats or dogs no humans has rights to hurt them just leave them alone
Dogs are said to be a good judge of character. How are they around you?
@14:50 i would be happy to put cats above everybody else.
TNR is the best way to go...until people learn how to be better pet owners.
Save humans not cats
The Blytonian ,Totally Agree !
Sara Siddique ,Stupid fucking bitch just go to hell where you are belong!
I would recommend that you be euthanized, rather than some animals who are much more worthy.
How are you helping to save humans?
Save humans and cats. Problem solved.
Cats are amazing
Trap and put down no questions asked TNR is not working no owner no home put to sleep wake up folks
Dennis Ludolph exactly
I think forcing surgery on a cat is disgusting
Do you think it is disgusting for a parent to consent to their child having surgery before the child themself could consent (because they were too young), if the surgery drastically improved their health and quality of life?
IsThatEtchas your not the cat's parent nor it's god/master.
