- On December 13, 2016, Alan Thicke - the actor nicknamed "America's Dad" for his portrayal of Dr. Jason Seaver for seven seasons on “Growing Pains” - died after his aorta ruptured while playing hockey. Though Thicke's ultimately passing devastated those close to him, his legacy endures as a beloved television actor, songwriter, friend, and father.

I met Alan once. I was a restaurant host in Universal city walk in Los Angeles. He was just looking at me. It was weird. It wasn't a negative look but it lasted longer than it should of 😂. I always liked him. So Sad. I hope he's in a way better place. Life or So Short
