I can't get over how much shock travel, that you are getting. I had well over $100,000 into my 1985 bronco XLT. It was a full pre-runner. I was only getting about 10 inches travel in the front and I think it was 22 in the back. And that was really good at the time. I'm getting old. That was 30 years ago. That truck was so much fun. I sure miss that thing.
That's crazy you spent so much. I just spent $15k on lift, ADS triple bypass shocks, hydralic bump stops, wheels & tires on the gladiator. It has about 11.5" shaft travel on the shocks. I want 40s but that's another 20k or so for axles and wheels. I plan on mobbing it with 37s for a while and see how it goes.
If you guys ever have any more TT’s or pre-runners in, you should pop of the coils and show these things at full bump slam dunk. The geometry and clearance is mind blowing to see. Keep up the good work boys!🙌🏻
triangles are the strongest shape you can make, correct, but not when cutting a hole in sheet metal for lightening. in that case a dimpled round hole is strongest. if you understand why the triangle is the strongest shape you should understand why cutting a triangle shape hole in something doesn't transfer any of those properties.
Actually, you can buy the 1/6 RC replica of this exact truck. The Losi Super Baja rey 2.0. www.horizonhobby.com/product/1-6-super-baja-rey-2.0-4wd-brushless-desert-truck-rtr/LOS05021.html
Nice build Id love my 2005 3.0L v6 AWD Mercury Mariner to be a Rally Racer esq...still want it to be versatile ie pull trailer of need be....if i could afford the mods Id do an overhaul on my Engine, install a more sturdy/bulletproof Transmission, Shocks and Struts, tires, radiator, if feasible widen the axles
Ok so I race offroad dirtbikes but can't afford the trucks but I do have a nice 07 Silverado classic 4x4 with a little squat and method wheels. It has the 5.3 and did a mild 212/218 cam and just got my speed engineering long tube headers. I have a super 44 flowmaster on it but thinking of going 3" into muffler and 3" out. What muffler would you guys recommend? I really do like black widow. Any input would be awesome. Thanks!
Try look into Spintech mufflers with equal length pipes from the header collector back, it'll give it a more corvette sound than a lumpy truck sound. But I see you posted this 5 years ago so you're probably done with the truck exhaust by now. Anyways, spintech on equal lengths is what I like.
I wonder how one of these would fare in stage rally? After watching the entire video and all the detail work on this thing...WOW😍. These guys need to build a stage rally car for sure! They could build an open class car that might actually survive a few rallies😉. Beautiful and clever work!
Clean trophy truck for sure and would love to see this thing party at the burn yard 👍 On another note though @ 14:50 "specialty built bump pad" , rubs 1/2 steal 😉. Everything on the truck is one off and everything was custom made for it but jeez a specialty bump pad that thing is even more serious now 🤔😎
Why do a lot of the high performance engines smoke a little on when revving? Increase ring gap or is it forged pistons that aren't fully heated or a combination?
Feels like dan rushes them and makes them feel like they don’t need to explain things, “yup”, he needs different reactions like “okay”, and “that’s sick”, idk maybe it’s just me but this isn’t the first time i felt like this. I enjoy their description of what things do and why
They explained a lot of things to him that you would thin he already knew. But I guess they probably talk to some media who are less familiar with cars so they just say it all to be safe rather than sorry
The rear trailing arms are hard set,not on Heim joints. Won't that be a problem locking the rear with out any non lateral rotation(side to side twist)???
Brenthel Industies exist. Therefore, there has to be a market for these trucks. That means people out there can afford them. Which means I too could potentially afford to own one some day.Theres hope!
06:24 Yes this sun visors are robust because no windshield and that also need sunvisors wht no break smal gravel stones too and prodect from dust and wind.
Trophy Trucks is definitely one of the most badass racecars around! Not only for how they are run but fabrication wise too, and that is a part I really like with all racing. Even though it say 'you can buy' no price is available either here or on their page... But concidering the level of engineering, fabrication and historical pricing these must break a million by now.
And once you own it, you have to pay for race prep, chase vehicles and crew, also own a pre runner to pre run the race course, a helicopter doesn’t hurt, anyways, you have to be loaded to really enjoy one of these bad boys, they’re awesome though!!
Price estimate 750k to a mil. The top of the line Brenthel engines cost 75k each and they need to be rebuilt every 3k miles. You gotta have deep pockets. If I had that kind of quiche cooking in my bank account, I'd definitely want one.
Went to highschool with Johnathan Brenthel. He drove the "Terminator" lime green square body (mid-late 90's) 1500? with fiber glass flares. Always missing one of the front flares giving it the the name "Terminator"
Nice feature guys. Too bad they DNF'd last weekend. A lot of big dogs went DNF last weekend. It was a really rough race. Class 5 was virually wiped out. Could you get Dusty Grabowski with his Class 5 on? I'd like to see a feature on that.
First off ford 460 bored, stroked, ported and polished with a forged 4 inch crank built to hell and back. Also you said its made of 4130 i thought trophy truck chassis had to be made of 5130 to meet regulations. Im no expert and i dont race so most likely im wrong. I would like to hear why 4130 and possibly why not 5130

If you could put any engine into a Trophy Truck that ISN'T an LS, what engine would it be?!
Some sort of diesel.
Honda mini LS build...
MAXI V8 made from two Hayabusa motors at 11k rpm
Hoonigan I would put the lightest V8 Diesel engine I could find in it
Ummmmm a naturally aspirated V10?
I would rather have this than any super car!
i agree but the mpg, i couldnt handle
Chad wran If you can buy this you can deal with the mpg
@@chaztitan6457 Dude, if you can fucking afford either, GAS prices would be the LAST fucking thing on your mind.
A super car you can drive every day if you want to. This is just a toy that's used every month or less.

same in Madagascar...

Thanks for the comment Brent! Appreciate your input.
Yes, and it will double as a workout. Those shocks are f*kin heavy 😂
Chromoly, carbon fiber, billet, stainless, 1100hp, 100 gallon fuel cell and 40s sounds like I'll never afford one 😂
You forgot king shocks and bumps!
@@2ndGenDesigns ha yeah exactly!
About a million bucks. You don't have that laying around!? 😉
@@magnus5356 I wish. Can I borrow it? Lol
Usually in off-road racing if you have to ask the price, you cant afford it lol. A truck like this is around $800,000 to fully build.
I've been a desert racing fan and a shade tree fabricator for over 40 years. This was such eye candy. Well done video.
"There's not a single component from any street truck in there" what gearbox is it running? "Th400"
Probably late but that would mean they made it after hundreds of car and truck models 😂
It's like a piece of art, metal sculpture!
More like a carbon fiber sculpture.
Which happens first: Scotto finishes the Audi or my dad comes back from the store?
How long has your dad been at the story currently?!

A twin turbo 3.8 out of the old gnx, maybe a nissan v8 small displacement VRH. Keep some weight off the front end.
