In case anyone’s wondering, those cauliflower cheddar crackers are sooo good! Kinda like cheez it’s just not as intense of a flavor, but def tastes cheesy. I accidentally ate the whole box in one day 😂

I have an actual dairy allergy on top of being vegan so I am glad when they are willing to double check.
I recently went to a vegan grocery store in Austin and it was refreshing to be able to go in and not spend so much time reading labels bc everything is vegan. If it wasn't so far and fairly expensive I'd go there every week

Chris On the Case! I love when you do this; apart from confirming that things are actually vegan, you show us how to courteously deal with customer service people to get what you want done without making this awful job worse! Aren't there laws in the EU requiring all products to have a cholesterol percentage? I guess we think of this as equivalent to, "manufactured in a facility that also processes dairy and eggs." Food looks great; TFP!
I don't know the standards in EU, but you are probably right.

Love Aldi - you have some different stuff there, but in the UK too aldi is absolutely amazing for vegan stuff lately. Seems to get better each time I visit. And so inexpensive compared to other products. I always pop in for a couple things and come out with a bunch of stuff! Love it 😍💚✌🏼🌱

I just tried the mozzarella sticks yesterday and honestly I wasn’t impressed. The breading was good but I found the cheese pretty gloopy. I cooked them in the toaster oven but maybe I didn’t cook them long enough?
Also thank you for checking on the cholesterol! I didn’t even catch that when I made them... I’m a bad vegan.
Air fryer always seems to cook things better. Could be why.
I'm not Vegan, nor vegetarian, but we DO keep Kosher, and most Vegan products are Kosher so we hit Aldi hot and heavy more and more (there's even a saying, all Vegan products are at least 90% Kosher LOL). That call to their Customer Service was SO positive and... uplifting. Thank you for sharing the call. AND for this tremendous video!

Outside sources of chlosterol only comes from animal foods like meat dairy eggs..

Castoreum a common "natural" flavoring in vanilla, and raspberry. Animal product, in which they kill the beaver to extract. Also used in musk scents of cologne/ perfumes, and some deodorants. Watch for item flavorings not containing it.

I have had similar questions before, and recommended they contact the companies, they were inquiring about. I'm going to try them, too. I love your original Daiya cheese stick recipe. I was thinking about making some. Good to know that some of them are certified vegan, while others aren't. Good point.

Hey I love your videos ! They are very helpful. I know you did a video on your labs. What is a good source of b12 for vegans?
The best sources are supplements and fortified foods. It's hard to say whether any food has a high amount of b12, since it is produced in bacteria from soil and water, and we wash our foods (which washes it off). Some people try to get it from unwashed produce or fermented foods, but supplements/fortified foods are your best bet, as you can't really tell if there's b12 on the given produce you're eating. If I recall correctly, I think I remember seeing people getting deficiency while trying to obtain it through unwashed produce.

I'm out of garlic powder too. I use that in every meal.
Chris, plantbased does not always mean cholesterol free, many products have coconut oil , that is not cholesterol free.
Plant based foods dont have dietary cholesterol. There are foods like coconut oil (and most oils) that may affect our cholesterol and influence our production of good or bad cholesterol but i dont think the product itself contains cholesterol.
Oh yeah I didn’t think about the coconut oil. I eat things with coconut oil and had never looked at the cholesterol level 😮
I was just at Aldi. I didn’t know they had vegan “chicken” patties. Chicken patties were always my go-to food when I was sick or under a lot of stress. My life is weird right now and I’ve been craving chicken patties. Apparently, it’s Pavlovian for me: stress = drool over chicken patties. Those are going on my list. Thank you!

Those cheese sticks look amazing. They didn't have those at my Aldi, but they had the Teriyaki Tofu AND Beyond Sausages and Beyond Burgers!!!!! I live in central WI and I have such a hard time finding vegan things. Aldi has really changed and MY Aldi is getting awesome!!
So far I have liked all of Aldi's vegan items, we didn't have the motz sticks though but we did have the cheddar ones and I was sooooo excited, and then I tried them and so far it was the worst vegan item I have tried in a long time. Reminds me of Mykos cheddar and I hated that as well, had a weird tang for me.... but a lot of people love them and that is awesome. I love seeing new vegan items. I live in Mid WI so we don't get all of the options. Oh and they had mac and cheese that I tried and went back the next day to buy a case because it was the best mac n cheese I have had, and I add a little of the vegan motz into the cheeze sauce mix and that was a game changer!
Those peanut butter "girl scout" cookies are soooo good and less than a dollar. The sugar cookie hummus is good too but I preferred the salted caramel hummus which unfortunately was a limited time item. Thanks for confirming on the Mozz sticks. Hoping they have them at my podunk little Aldi in the boonies.
I thought they said "May contain milk"?! It's at 3:10. Look closely it's kind of hard to see!Is that what it says or am I just seeing things?

However, I don't worry about items that "may contain milk/eggs, etc. It's on there for allergy purposes because the product may have been on the same conveyor belt or equipment as something that contains the allergen. It wasn't made with milk just possibly cross contaminated. They're doing that in case someone is severely allergic.
