      I work in the field. However, it sounds like heavy-duty corrosion protection painting is what interests you, as long as it's not related to mass production.
      In summary:
      1. You need to clean the metal surface with alkaline degreasing, removing all external contaminants such as dirt, dust, and oil residues. Rinse thoroughly afterward.
      2. Blast the surface to SA 2 1/2 according to ISO 8501 and achieve a medium surface roughness per ISO 8503. This is to remove any rust and mill scale from the surface and to create adhesion for the upcoming paint. Steel grit could be a suitable blasting medium unless the material is stainless steel. Afterward, vacuum or air-blow to clean the surface thoroughly.
      3. I would recommend a painting system with epoxy as the base coat and polyurethane as the topcoat. Make sure to follow the Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and you should achieve excellent results. :)

    Hi sir
    Thank you for the details.
    I am running a fire extinguishers factory.
    Which phosphating process should I use?
    What is the name of chemical compounds which is used in Eight tank process.
    Thanks

      I am in the zinc manganese phosphating industry. Since fire extinguishers are stored indoors, they do not need to withstand a higher corrosion class than C3 according to ISO 12944 with high durability. Both zinc manganese and iron phosphating can achieve this. Among these options, iron phosphating is preferable as it is the most cost-effective and straightforward method. I would also consider thin-film technology like Oxilan, as it doesn't require any heating and virtually eliminates sludge formation. You can purchase all the pre-treatment materials from suppliers such as Chemetall.

    Or after Iron phosphating we can do powder coating??

    • @thinkfilter
      @thinkfilter  2 года назад +1

      Dear Mr. Murali Prasath, thanks for the question. The process of Phosphate coating is employed for the purpose of pretreatment prior to coating or painting, increasing corrosion protection and improving friction properties of sliding components. You should go for powder coating after iron phosphating is done.
