Thanks. Handy tool. I think a standard Petzl pulley, like the Partner, would be better than the Fixe bc the rope within the in-line 8 will always be levering the Fixe's cheeks together. Thoughts?
I designed this with the intention of having a device that would be compact and raise my body weight or that of another in tight situations. So I wasn't really worried about bending the pulley but your concerns are certainly valid if higher loads were applied. The other factor is that the bend radius of the knot is larger because of the spread and the edges are softer in the Fixe than say the Partner. This matters because I wanted to eliminate a connector. Really the best solution would be a 1.1 inch Omni block but they are pricey compared to a Fixe. And I already had a Fixe! Thanks so much for an excellent question.
Might want to tape some acoustically transparent foam over your mic.
Yeah, the wind is bad. Probably should have reshot the video but sometimes my free time is limited. Thanks for watching.

How is it a 3:1 if all you did was flip the 2:1 upside down? Great tool though. I can think of all kinds of ways that would be useful.
Check out this video and you'll see why it is a 3:1. ruclips.net/video/3K0SH0edIKE/видео.html
