About the video, it's rare I shoot conceptualized videos overseas... specifically, Rome! I had a couple of days off while teaching dance classes in Italy, and my friend Andrea from Bounce Factory asked if a dance video was something I might be interested in while I was here. Reluctance was my first reaction... But then I thought, hey... when in Rome. #stayclassy
I was extremely excited knowing that I had the opportunity to dance in front of one of the most historical landmarks in the world! I got a soft spot for different cultures and history. In case you didn't guess... that's the friggin' Colosseum! That's where Russell Crowe fought a bunch of gladiators!
Now, this routine was actually never intended to be shot in this manner. It's geared towards learning in class for students rather than something to be shown or performed for a stage or video. So in other words, what the choreography looks like is not as important as to how I feel when I dance to it. The movement came pretty natural when I popped on my headphones and listened to the music. Sometimes it's better to just let yourself go, have fun, and not think too hard!

So, sick. I wish people would do this more often at this high a quality (choreo, videography, etc.). As much as I LOVE seeing a bunch of great dancers dance together? I think it's dope to get to see the piece in a group setting, but with almost the exact perfect lines, and mannerisms.
