Love how he keeps the live performance as close as possible to the original recording (unlike so many artists who perform their old hits on stage). A man who shows respect for his own work as well as his fans.
Although, I must admit that I do sometimes like how with some bands their live versions of certain song are different than off the album; thus, giving them not just a rebirth, but acts as ah extension of those songs, if that makes any sense. It's as if you have different version of the song to select from depending on which one best suits the mood you're in, or the moment itself Led Zeppelin did this especially, and while some criticize them for it, it's what makes me like them even more. What you got live wasn't what you got on record or yeard over the radio. The lack of multiple guitar overdubs that Jimmy Page was notorious for on the records... come live, and those overdubs are no longer to be. You now have a different song, which for me is why if want to listen to Led Zeppelin, I listen to soundboard tapes from 1977 and 1980 almost exclusively
Actually there are/were lots of great psychedelic guitarists like Neil: Stephen Stills, Gary Duncan and John Cippolina both of Quicksilver Messenger Service, Barry Melton of Country Joe And The Fish, Robby Krieger of The Doors, Henry Vestine of Canned Heat, and even Danny Whitten, the original guitarist of Crazy Horse to name just a few of the greats.
@@theodoreroosevelt9755 Everyone has a personality and that is expressed by every musician but I hear a lot of the liquid clarity of Stephen Stills, the dirty muddy sound of Danny Whitten, and thick Gibson chords, and controlled feedback and white noise of Henry Vestine in Neil Young to this very day.
