You know, funny thing is that when they say "how can Champs be this bad?" I can answer that question by saying that those ranks are so inconsistent with skill level.
I've been a Champ for several seasons up to this point (since when RL wasn't even F2P yet) and I've seen it all: from people who can barely aerial to people who can do all crazy mechanical stuff but lack in rotation/game sense.
So I'm not surprised to see that many mistakes XD

So I went back on the past on Aspect’s tracker, and I’m pretty sure he’s a Smurf. On his tracker at, in season 3 (7 seasons ago), he achieved GC1 in 1v1 (top 0.3% in 1v1, incredibly hard to do) Plus over the seasons, his progression doesn’t seem linear and he doesn’t grind any game modes except 2s.
When he got GC in 1s in season 3, he played 96 games. He hasn’t played even half that amount in any season since, also another red flag it’s a Smurf. He hasn’t played more than around 15-30 games in any game mode on this account except 2v2, where he is always ranked highest and plays 4x+ as many games as the next closest playlist, usually around 150-200 games per season.
I’m almost positive he’s a GC2-3 level player who uses the account “Aspect” for smurfing with his champ buddies, cut and dry to me.
Maybe not GC2-3 but most definitely a solidified GC1. Which is still miles better than C1s and 2s.
@@nuclearmusic77 I can totally agree, it’s very possible he’s a GC1 level player who just never grinds enough to escalate through the ranks… and only plays 2s with diamond/low champ friends

@@dragonx23123 2s is the easiest game mode to Smurf in, and If every game mode is on low games except 2s, if can be a sign that someone only plays on that account to Smurf with a buddy. This is more and more a red flag if for example that player is on less than 20 games in other plays lists, except 2s and is most obvious when they don’t ever grind any other game mode.
It’s not a smoking gun, and in this example it became clear after discussing with him that he actually just doesn’t really play the game much and was booster to GC by a friend that one season.
That being said, whether that’s true or not relys on his word. It seem more than likely he isn’t a Smurf and just is a low hours player who in my opinion COULD reach GC if he put in the hours, but he could also just be lying and indeed be a Smurf. So not a clear cut Smurf as I originally, but that doesn’t mean the warning signs weren’t there, they just probably weren’t right this time

I've been hard stuck C2 for like 10 seasons now and Aspect is the only one that looked like he could play in those lobbies. C2 has improved. I'm way better than I used to be and it doesn't change where I land.

The moment you touch C3, you are playing against lobbies of 3 GC tags. You have to beat legit GC players just to get into C3 now. I believe him.
I’ve been C2/C3 since before F2P. I keep improving, but so are other players around this rank. I just need to improve faster than them. But I suck. 3500hrs stuck in c2 lol
100% agree. As someone who is mid-C2, I have a very hard time as soon as I hit like div 4 of C2. There's deranked GC1s and 2s ready to beat you back down.

Champ has a MASSIVE range. I'm Champ 2 but every time I dip into Champ 3 I start getting stomped hard and if I dip into Champ 1 I'm unstoppable. I love Champ for that, huge variety.
Middle ranks have huge range in skill. The difference between d1 and d3 or c1 and c3 is massive.

@@dansbigfanguitarist maybe, but I hit GC a couple seasons ago, then I just stopped playing as much. I definitely put the majority of my games into 3’s at an extreme amount higher than any other game mode because it is what I want to play.
Now he could be a Smurf still but simply stating that that alone doesn’t guarantee it. And while I agree it is way harder to get GC in 1’s than other play lists the skills don’t always transfer over in team play modes and I think it is fairly common for players to hit GC then either not play that mode as much or not play the game that much. As you said it isn’t an easy feat and it becomes draining mentally
