My guess is they're not producing large enough runs to warrant a price break for glow powder, which doesn't make much sense considering they're not exactly a tiny shop anymore. It could also be that they're just getting overcharged with their current manufacturer and haven't bothered/are unable to find an alternate avenue.
@mortcrimpjr Oh their run numbers are definitely way lower than what Mattel would do for MOTU. Someone else touched on that they might just have crappy connections and I could honestly see that as a possibility.
Usually when a company is charging more, than others it's bc of the accessories. There's S7 ultimates thundercats that's $35.00 it's bc they took out a lot of accessories. Also put them on card.
I guess when you consider MOTU Origins used to be $12.99 then they crept up to $19.99, $15.99 is still an overcharge… we just don’t notice it as badly because they conditioned us to expect to pay more. It’s like when gas is $3.25 then goes up to $4 then back “down” to $3.50 we get all excited 😂
@joshmv damn I forgot they started out that cheap when that first wave was a Walmart timed exclusive. That gas analogy is spot on if gas went from $3 to $3.50 I'd be like what the fuck? But like you said when it drops from $4 to $3.50 I fill up haha.
@nostalgic_nick1461 I'm cherry picking TMNT and that's it. I've thought about Simpsons and Toxic Crusaders but I've soured on them greatly over the last year.
Flynn is always coming up with new excuses for overcharging. "glow powder is going up in price," "plastic is going up in price," "we're a small toy company" (yet somehow has 40+ different licenses), "Vehicles are more expensive to make than playsets," "playsets are more expensive to make than vehicles," "these shirts are made in the US," "price of rent keeps going up in downtown San Diego" (okay I made that one up, but I'm sure its true). Yet collectors keep giving him their money and keep acting surprised when the product looks like shit and nothing like the 3d render Subpar7 sold them.
@NickDoobs dude including reaction they are over 100 IP's deep right now... that's absolutely insane. The fact that they continue to operate store fronts in San Diego and San Francisco is a good indicator of the decisions they make. There is no way both of those stores aren't hemorrhaging money. I don't preorder anything from them anymore I wait to see how things come out for the exact reason you stated.
I appreciate that you're positive about your stuff, your collection and generally you hobby but by all means. Calling out the big companies for shady practices I think should be fair game. This is something that had been on my mind, the glow TMNT figures seem nice but I hate that their Site exclusives and tend to not get marked down so far. I'd grab several of the turtles Ultimate glow in the dark but I gotta draw the line somewhere for that price range.
@andagean glad you get it dude. That's how I felt too. I'm also not just bashing on companies I don't buy figures from so it really does come from a place of caring, not hating. Unless you love glow in the dark, you're not getting anything here you're not getting from the regular ones. I think Super7 will run a clearance sale at some point. They've been sitting on them for almost half a year at this point, seems like any one that was willing to pay that price has done it.
Because collectors have more money than sense. This is what kills off every toyline. Kids cant afford them anymore but some 50 year old can and will splash out £60 plus on a GI JOE
@alleniumfalcon I feel personally attacked but you are not wrong haha. This was definitely an "I know these are overpriced but I want them bad" situation. This line has been outside of kids pricing since the jump it was only ever intended for people like me who have the collector sickness.
@@noyougrowup69 I collect too. Its just so infuriating that prices have gone so high because collectors have been willing to pay extortionate prices therefore tanking the hobby for all of us, especially kids ! They deserve the fun we had too. Jabba's Sail Barge for example. That thing is not worth over 300 bucks, nevermind the asking price of 1000. Now Hasbro are Haslabbing toys that would've been out on store shelves for around 80 about 10 years ago. Then charging stupid amounts of money for them. Sorry kids no Millenium Falcons for you unless it's one of those micro playset things.
Honestly, I look at super 7 and see tons of price gouging. This doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. Also valaverse is coming out with a swarm trooper that’s glow in the dark. It’s going to be same price as a regular deluxe figure for them. Keep in mind Action Force is an Indy line with probably even lower MRQ than super 7.
@robertsinfiniterealms1308 I'm getting a little suspicious of that myself. I don't personally collect Valaverse but I will tip my cap to Bobby Vala. I can't think of anyone doing a better job running a small toy company than him. I'm pretty sure he announced around comic con that he's dropping prices on his figs, which is unheard of.
@christopherbanda2239 I can't think of anything more ludicrously priced than reaction figures. On the flipside, Playmates figures are still priced shockingly well for 2023. So to answer your question, it makes no sense haha.
Guess I'll put a glow in the dark figure into consideration to get. Gonna have to pause on my collecting had to get other car today. If you got mk on switch it will be cross platform eventually, heard it runs bad on there.
@chazz5568 everyone is trashing MK1 on the Switch which makes sense it was made for next gen hardware and the Switch was already underpowered for last gen. I'd just keep an eye out for sales I feel like S7 has to be getting close to a clearance point.

$55 is so hard to do. $65 is crazy!
@Figures.Horror.Music. Yeah I'm not exactly sure where my line is, I just know they're getting close.

how much would u sell any packaged figures for?
