- HELLO!!!! so i was gone for a bit friends! i got my hands on a new computer, the whole Coronavirus had kept me away because of work and other stuff, but finally i got some time on the side to do another video i wanted to make for a while, in fact i had made 3 other cadian videos in the past but i didn't like them in the end but now am happy with this one! hope you guys enjoy it! please remember to like, sub and comment! please follow me on instagram at / ordo_scriptorum for daily wh40k posts!

Wherever a Cadian trooper fights, Cadia Stands. Wherever the Cadian flag flies, Cadia Stands. The Despoiler merely broke a planet, he could never break the guard. Cadia never fell, it still stands in each and every Cadian guardsman on every planet they fight and hold the line.

CADIA BROKE BEFORE THE GUARD
CADIA STANDS!
The Imperial Guard has something no other faction has, they don't have the technological magic of Tau and Eldar, they don't have living metal to keep their armies alive like the Necrons, they don't have the super soldiers of the Marines, or the radical faith of the Sisters. They don't have the numbers of the Tyrranids or the Orks. They don't have the power of gods morphing their bodies like Chaos does, or the overwhelming firepower of the Mechanicus, Titans, and Knights.
What they have is purpose, unity, and courage, and the will to live. They are humans, they feel fear and pain, suffering and loss, and its because of this fear of death that they fight harder than any army. They don't fight for themselves, they fight for the Imperium of Man, they fight for their brothers and sisters in arms, their families either on a distant planet or the one they're on, and they know vengeance like no other when they die.
They've held the line for thousands of years, knowing that no individual guardsmen is more important than the next, knowing that they'll die for their God, and knowing that they're sacrifice will never be in vain, so long as there is one planet, one hive, one guardsmen, they will never fall.
The guards equipment:
-paper armor
-a flashlight
-a plastic knife
-HUGE BALLS IF STEEL
@@Marhakon And not even a wheelbarrow to carry said balls, the endurance of the guard is truly something to be admired.
I wouldn't say that they have unity. Pardon the heresy but the Imperium is a mess.
@@uja11 They have the closest thing to unity, every other faction goes around killing each other (from their own faction, in masses, 1-5 Guardsmen from a Commissar don't count), they have the closest thing to full unity, as well as unity in purpose: survival for others.
Guardsmen will stare down Ork Hoards so the civilians behind and beside them don't have to. A sort of self-sacrificial army. They die so others don't have to.
@@Dragonspirit223 the Imperium faces rebellion, insurrection or desertion (especially to the Tau) literally every day. If anything, the Tau are more united than the Imperium, though then again, they are far smaller. The Orks and the Eldar are the least united since their race consists of multiple dominant factions. The Imperium may be the dominant human faction (by a vast margin) but by no means is it fully united as an entity.
It's less of a unified force heading in the same direction and more like a mass of multiple entities who head in more or less same general direction.

People like to rant and rave about how awesome the Space Marines are, but it's the Imperial Guard who I would truly call heroic. A Space Marine rarely has anything to fear, and indeed he knows no fear, for he is one of the Emperor's angels; ageless, immune to all illnesses, hyper intelligent, faster, stronger, and better armed and armored than any normal Human,
The Guardsman has none of those things. He is armed with a weapon so comparably weak that he jokingly calls it a flashlight, he is clad in flimsy flak armor that can barely stop bullets, let alone Bolter shells, and physically, he is no stronger or faster than your average well-built Human man. He is just a man... and yet, he takes up that weak weapon, dons his pathetic armor, and charges headlong against the horrors of a galaxy consumed by evils unimaginable, knowing that he will die and praying that his death, tiny in the grander scheme of things, makes a difference for his family, his planet, his species, his Imperium. Glory to those that held the line!
CADIA broke and was consumed by the eye of terror when a guardsmen spoke to a random demon: "You don't get it don't you? We're not locked in here with you! You're locked in with us!

A sad, angry, pale skinned little man, who betrayed all he swore too, everything he was might to hold dear, all because Daddy didn't spend enough time with you. We might be small, we might be insignificant, we might loose our lives and home, yet at the end of the day, we still hold to that one thing that makes us human; our loyalty and faith. What do you and your "Brothers" have left, save for a dead primarch, who killed himself, and a legion of roaving space pirates?

I was there, I was there when Cadia fell…
I remember sitting in a smoldering ruin, what was left of a Chapel to the God Emperor, out in the fields of Cadia. We had held that position for hours, the scream of bolter and Lasgun fire ringing in our ears like the bells on Sanguinala. There I sat, cradling and crying over a corpse I held in my arm, of a fellow guardsman whose chest was blown open by Bolter fire, a man who was my little brother.
All around me, my fellow Guardsman could hear me but none dare break me from my crying. On this day we’d all lost friends, lovers, and family, here on this battlefield, all to the vile forces of Chaos and their followers. We were scared, tired, and on the verge of madness, as we fast terrors unbeknownst to the Imperium at large; Daemons, Heretic Cultist, and some things that go beyond my power of description.
It was our Commissar, a woman who’s name I’ve long forgotten, who broke me from my wailing. She was young, I remember that much, young and with a need to prove herself. She was barely a few weeks promoted from Cadet.
She grabbed me by the scruff of my neck, hauling me to my feet, and looked me dead in the eyes. It was at that moment though, when my eyes met her, that I saw the fear in her. She was terrified, same as me, with her other hand shakily holding a Lapistol, saying, ”The Emperor has no use for sniveling cowards!” before taking aim at my head. I closed my eyes, knowing what fate awaited me and didn’t care. My brother was dead, my home was aflame, and all the forces of hell itself waited for me beyond the wall we were using for cover. Then, just as she started to slowly pull the trigger, a Miracle happened.
His every step echoed, with the mixture of machine and metal hitting stone, as his massive shadow fell over the Commissar and I. His giant, armored hand, went to grab the Commissar's pistol and ripped it from her hand. He then looked at it, through the blood-red eyes of his Wolf-shaped helmet, and tossed it aside, before looking back at us. The man…no, the Angel, was an Adeptus Astartes, one of the Space Wolves, a son of Leman Russ. He then pulled his helmet off and showed us his face, a face that was millennium of years old. He watched as my commissar dropped me, in stunned silence and reverence, and slowly began to back away. Perhaps she thought that the Wolf would kill me, for my cowardness, but instead he reached for the corpse of my brother and, before I could even protest, closed his eyes for me. He then looked at me and asked a single, haunting question, one that rings through my ears every time we go on a mission. He asked me, ”Guardsman, why do you fight?”
I simply looked up with silence, my eyes still blurry from the tears I had shed. I was scared, confused, and at my wits end, but the great Wolf simply spoke again, shouting, "GUARDSMAN!” this time to not only me but my entire regiment, "WHY, DO, YOU, FIGHT!?” so loud one could hear it over the raging battle around us. He then waited for the others to all focus on him before he continued, ”I tell you why, you fight because you most!” He then started to pace the ruin, looking at each and everyone of us trapped in that ruin, speaking as he went, ”You are not Astartes, you are mortal men; You are frail, fragile, weak, facing a galaxy of endless horror and Xeno from the depths of the Warp to the very nightmares of Space, ordered to charge with nothing more than a Lasgun and a bayonet, even though the very men and woman who order you to die would rather kill you themselves,” to which he snapped at our Commissar, forcing her to look downward in shame for letting her fear get the better of her.
He then turned back around and headed toward me, drawing his massive, double-bladed power axe, and spoke,”...And yet, you do charge into the fray, with nothing better than a Bayonet with a Flashlight, and you do so with courage in your hearts.” He then stopped beside me and knelt down, putting his giant hand on my shoulder, ”That, Guardsman, is truly an act braver than any Astartes, Daemon, or chaotic traitor, can boast. That despite all the odds against you, you have held the line these ten-thousand years!”
The Spacewolf then stood up and held his axe high, shouting at us, ”I am going out there, and I’m going to make those bastards pay for every inch of proud Cadia they soil, WHO'S WITH ME!?” to which the roaring cries of courage, triumph, and duty echoed through the chapel. Our shouts and cries were so loud that, for an instant, the enemy forces stopped their firing and stared at us, only to find the sight that will forever be in my mind when I think back on blessed Cadia.
We stood up, attached our bayonets, and we charged straight toward the enemy line; we did so with courage in our heart, with pride in our bones, and the blessing of the Emperor in our souls. We charged right into the killing zone. We did this, not with fear of our Commissar's Lasgun behind us, but with the Courage and honor of the Imperial Guard, and we did so with a smile.
And that, my friend, was the day Cadia stands!
I was there brother, a noble i was before I gave it up to fight for mankind, but, the forces of Chaos pushed us back to the brink, but our commissar rallied us and we pushed the forces of darkness back to the very brink... we fought to be evacuated, at least some of us were able to make it out... after that I went through training to become an Astartes, and am fighting in the Indomitus crusade, blood I have found, me and my fellow men liberated a sector, killed a chaos prophet, and am liberating a planet from the Necron menace
We will find victory, just push on... CADIA STANDS! FOR THE EMPEROR!

The thing about plain old humans is, the more the odds are stacked against them the harder they resist and fight and the stonger they are and can take before they begin to break. Its almost like they are made to endure no matter what.

@@Gman1ist again I’ll state that the one that stayed on cadia as it cracked didn’t kneel down and beg to join chaos they fought till it ripped itself apart and exploded around them after a black stone fortress was hucked at it by the despoiler cause he couldn’t deal with the boys and girls in green with a can do attitude

You know, I just wondered...What if they put sly Marbo on Cadia? I doubt Chaos would ever leave the eye of terror
a fortress may fall and man may die but cadia was merely that a fortress. it was not a fortress that held the eye it was the men and women that maned that fortress that broke the blade of chaos time and again. it was the will of men and women that brought low many of chaos warriors and demon. and now that the fortress is broken it is time for other fortress defenders to follow the example set by the men and women of cadia. that though the fortress is now but dust in the cosmic winds the fury the will and the courage of the cadian people is still present. after all a fortress alone is not an army.
