    I know that feeling of sensory overload and forgetting to take photos/videos. Loved the video, and hoping HOPING to make it to my first Adepticon next year 2025.

    If you get a chance next time, make sure to stop by Fort Wappel. That is a painter's paradise. Everyone there was so welcoming, and the chance to sit down and paint with so many really great painters is just amazing.

      @@BlastercadedPainting If you go behind the escalators up from the entry of the Renaissance hotel you'll find it. It's in the same place every year. Highly recommend for painters. Doubly so for streamers of any type as that's where you'll find your peers.

    I'm lucky enough to have Adepticon just a short drive away. I will definitely say the second time/day at the Con is much easier as you can 'work a plan' on what you want to do/see/experience.

    I was there and I was actually in your video surprisingly haha. In your first shot of the hall after the terminator I was in a yellow plaid shirt with a backpack just meandering by my tournament tables. You really need to go at least Thursday through Sunday to get a really good experience. My first year I went I didn’t even have any events and I still kept finding things every day that I had missed the day before.

    • @BlastercadedPainting

      Awesome!!!. Yeah I hope to be able to get there Thursday next year.

    I went this year for the first time; played warhammer heresy from thursday until saturday night. The event and people playing were fantastic! Top notch people and some beautiful armies painted up! I cant wait to go back next year and do it again.
    I also circled the vendor hall, like 5 times, and kept finding new shops and new games to demo. Overwhelming is an understatement.
    I hope in the future they can extend the event another day, or find a larger venue to decrease the amount of claustrophobia 😂.

    I'm so glad you got to go! I definitely relate to the sense of enormity, I looped the vendor hall probably 50+ times and still missed stuff. Excited you got to grab Rumbleslam though, it's a super fun game!
    Thank you for stopping to take a picture with me, I always feel bad saying things like "Are you the Blastercaded Painting Guy?!" but it was awesome to meet you and get a photo! Hope to run into you again next year!

    Just started playing age of sigmar late last year. Went to Adepticon from mid michigan for my first tournament. It was fun, but definitely a lot going on. I didn't plan much for my first time, so I was able to walk around and browse a lot more. The next few times that I go I'll try to plan some of the other events (painting, design and what not)

    Great vid. Thanks for the video of the con. Yes I definitely plan to go to Adepticon next year. I've gone to LVO, ACO and a few of the other East Coast major tournaments before but my goal for 2025 is to get to Adepticon. It definitely looks like more than you can do in the time frame of the con. Just with the two miniatures games I currently play MCP and Shatterpoint I have another weeks worth of content to watch in addition to the content I did watch live over the weekend 😀

    You know you say its clickbait, but the scale of the place, without preparation, is definitely a problem people might run into. I was signed up for one tournament (the 40k Friendly) and had a great time, but it ate my entire Friday by the time I got back to the remote hotel and dropped my army off. Preparing for the time investment (and money investment so you don't break the bank) in order to do at least a little of all the things you want to do is super important.
    Because so much of Adepticon is interactive other conventions don't really prepare you for it. At a big comic con you don't usually find yourself wanting to commit to a few hours of sitting in one place. Saturday morning I spent 90 minutes in Fort Wappel (the sit and paint free area) painting a quick Space Marine because I knew I wanted to be ready for the Meat Grinder that night.

    • @BlastercadedPainting
      @BlastercadedPainting  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes! This! I have been to plenty of comic-conventions and they do not compare in anyway to this. And yeah if you choose to play in any events you have lost a whole day of doing so many other things. Just not possible to do it all.

    My friends say that there is no real coverage of day to day events, mostly vendors on the Adepticon FB page

    • @BlastercadedPainting
      @BlastercadedPainting  8 месяцев назад

      Some channels stream the different tournaments, but just so much happening it would be difficult to showcase it all online.

  • @mindlasher
    @mindlasher 8 месяцев назад +1

    I went this year. Wednesday to Sunday. I had a blast. I completely agree that you can't do it all. I had the opposite problem. I over spent and didn't find everything I wanted.

    • @BlastercadedPainting
      @BlastercadedPainting  8 месяцев назад +1

      Awesome! I am for sure going longer next year. You could stand there and just drop entire pay cheques in a hour.

  • @JMcMillen
    @JMcMillen 8 месяцев назад +1

    Well duh, every convention is like that. You have to pick and chose what you're going to try to do and what you'll have to take a pass on. Even at small conventions it's not always possible to do everything.

    • @BlastercadedPainting
      @BlastercadedPainting  8 месяцев назад

      This is my first gaming and miniatures convention, I have been to mostly Comic Conventions where you can do everything over the course of the Con. This convention is just so vast, not to mention there are events happening that aren't even advertised, that it was overwhelming.

    • @JMcMillen
      @JMcMillen 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@BlastercadedPainting Adepticon isn't that big compared to other geek conventions. Try going to SDCC or NYCC where you couldn't even come close to doing everything even if you could be in 20 places at the same time. Same with GenCon, Origins Game Fair, or any of the Pax conventions. Heck, even at the tiny cons I've seen featured on Little Wars TV, you'd still have to pick and chose your events as there's never enough time to try everything, or even most things.
      Game conventions are a whole different ballgame to comic conventions as participating in anything is going to require several hours of your time. Time where you aren't getting to do something else.

    • @BlastercadedPainting
      @BlastercadedPainting  8 месяцев назад

      @JMcMillen yeah I have heard some crazy stories about SDCC, and just how huge it is.

Laughed my head off when you said "I wasn't going to get these, but they had 50% off!" You sound just like me 😂 Hope Mr. Kemp remembers you for all the future mint new minis coming out. Cough!
