  • A video showing off a working, decent condition IBM Thinkpad X24 with Windows XP on it.
The Thinkpad X24 was the best performing iteration of the first generation of X-series Thinkpads. In a time where laptops favored expandability or functionality, usually ending up being remarkably bulky and large as a result- the X-series pressed in the direction of being light and thin. The X24 may not be as thin as today's laptops, but its stout and grippy profile makes it quite comfortable to handle, and fit nicely on anyone's lap. Combined with the Thinkpad's distinct design and premium market, it wields quite a bit of performance and utility for the time despite its size. Especially when paired with the X2 Ultrabase, a sort of docking station that latched onto the entire bottom of the laptop and could be carried with the laptop, making it considerably thicker but giving it an Ultrabay (allowing for a CD/DVD drive, Floppy drive, or 2nd HDD, normally not possible in the X24's small chassis) and expanded I/O.
The Thinkpad X24 was the last in the line of "X2x" Thinkpads, and was eventually succeeded by the all new X30.

Mine's not nearly in that good of shape. Just pulled it out to make a Windows 98 boot disk with the Ultrabase for a PC build.
