Set dosa recipe
Set dose is a type of South Indian dosa that's thicker and softer than the usual crispy dosa. Here's a simple recipe:
Ingredients:
For the Batter:
5 Glass Ration rice
1 glass urad dal ( black gram)
2 glass Poha
1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
Water (as needed)
Oil
Instructions:
Soak the Ingredients:
Rinse the rice, urad dal, and poha thoroughly.
Soak them together in plenty of water for 8-10 hours or overnight.
Grind the Batter:
Drain the soaked ingredients.
In a blender or wet grinder, add the soaked ingredients and a little water. Grind to a smooth batter. The batter should be slightly thicker than for regular dosas.
. The batter should be of pouring consistency.
Ferment the Batter:
Transfer the batter to a large bowl and cover it with a cloth or plastic wrap.
Let it ferment in a warm place for 8-12 hours or until it has risen and has a slightly sour smell.
Prepare the Dosa:
Heat a non-stick or cast-iron pan over medium heat.
Lightly grease the pan with a little oil.
Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it slightly to form a thick round. The dosa should be about 1/4 inch thick.
Cook on medium heat until bubbles form on the surface, and the edges start to lift. You can cover it with a lid to ensure it cooks through.
Flip and cook for another minute if desired, or serve it as is.
Serve:
Serve hot with Vegetable Sagu, coconut chutney, sambar, or any other side dish of your choice.
Enjoy your set dosa!
