Determining fish age using Otoliths

Fishing into the Future takes you through the process of how scientists from Marine Scotland extract otolith samples from Haddock landed at Peterhead Harbour, and how these are used to better understand fish populations.
Otoliths are tiny ear bones found in most bony fish that can be studied to determine the age of fish.
