    maybe it's just my poor eyesight but i feel like the binder is easier for me to try and gauge effectiveness for my own chest beneath a pale shirt than a black one, like you did around the 3 minute mark. I know most of us who bind tend to lean towards wearing darker colours but for a try-on video where i'm trying to figure out what to buy vicariously through others lol, i find your videos helpful bc you use different types of over-shirts. thanks for making these vids! especially thanks for going into sensory-friendly details, that's really cool of you

    • @irisolympia
      @irisolympia  6 месяцев назад +34

      that’s exactly why I try them on with multiple shirts! apologies for not including the light color shirt side-by-side for the second binder! I want to make sure my videos are as helpful as possible hehe so I’m glad you noticed ❤️

      Hi just want to say as a trans guy with sensory issues I own a For Them binder and for me personally I'm still not able to wear it frequently. While it's certainly more comfortable than other binders I've tried, I just can't handle the material still. This is just me though, I think they're a great brand and you should definitely try it out if you're interested in doing so, but just wanted to share that it's not 100% guaranteed to be sensory friendly for everyone (I'm sure it's absolutely fine for many other people though, as I said. But this is just my experience)
      Edit: Something I do very much like about their binders is that they're shorter than most others I've seen. I have a severe specific phobia that causes me to experience a lot of anxiety as a result of any compression on my stomach so it's really nice that this binder only really compressed my chest and not anything below that

    I am so envious in a good way! I live where no respectable binder company delivers its products, but I also cannot tolerate anything on my chest that is not a breezy tee, so my only option is KT tape and hoping that one day I can finally get a top surgery 😢

      i have two videos featuring the adjustable compression top from tomboyx if you want to hear my thoughts on them! both are linked in the description they are the ones with “compression top” in the title. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the one I have, but haven’t tried their original version which seems like the one most people like!

    I've been wanting to get a binder for a while and these seem like a good option. My only problem is getting it delivered without my parents finding out because I'm not exactly out yet. This video is great, thank you!

      Dunno if this helps but I live in the deep south (US). I'm not out to many people but when I got my first binder and my parents saw it I just told them "I just like the extra support. Sports bras don't do enough" which IS true for a lot of cishet women. I've heard from so many big chested people that sports bras don't give enough support. Maybe that would help you? Or maybe look up brands with discreet packaging. Regardless of what you choose I wish you luck 🙏

    This isn't really related to this video but I just wanna say that I've been binging your videos recently and I really love them! Your outfit videos are really nice because usually fashion videos are too fem or too whatever, but you have my exact sense of style but cooler. Also this review, and your reveiws in general, are always really desciptive and definitely some of the best and most thought-through, organized ones I've seen. Also I feel like my gender experience is more similar to yours than a lot of other trans creators I watch, which is really nice. ❤️‍🔥

    I bought some new “binders” yesterday. They’re not technically binders but they are SOO much more comfortable, even though it’s not quite as compressive as my other binder. But, luckily for me, my b00bs are small

    I was wondering if these were friendly for ppl with back issues? I’m asking bcs I have a lot of back pain and my current binder (gc2b from 2022) just aggravates my back issues a lot, which is why I’m looking for a new one
    For context, I have a lot of chronic pain(back, neck, hips, etc)

    • @irisolympia
      @irisolympia  5 месяцев назад +2

      i did notice my back was a bit sore the next day after wearing it so long, so I avoided wearing it again until that soreness was resolved-that’s sort of what I meant when I said I reached my limit on binding. hope that info is helpful!

    Random but is a 32C/D considered big? I take dance/ballet and want to flatten my chest but my mom says I don't need to bc it's not that big and that a leotard is enough 😭 but I usually have the biggest chest in my class which is really awkward

    • @irisolympia
      @irisolympia  6 месяцев назад +12

      i have so much gender trauma from taking ballet in middle school 😭 this exactly speaks to my experience feeling SO uncomfortable in just the leotard!! try to get an under leotard (like a nude one) for an extra layer that may help (this is something I never had but many of the other girls did). 32C/D is certainly not nothing!! don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself and stand your ground about this! i felt so out of place for years and i wish i would have been able to articulate what i needed 🥹 it’s on your parents to support you through those needs

    • @elisajacobsen8716
      @elisajacobsen8716 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@irisolympia thank you this means so much!! And I'm so sorry you had to experience feeling uncomfortable bc I'm currently going through it and it's awful 😞 Like I just want to blend in with the other girls in class but being one of the only dancers with a bigger chest (but like also is it even big or is it body dysmorphia ugh) makes me feel really self conscious 😩 I'm gonna try layering a leotard underneath and see how it goes!!

    • @insertname1857
      @insertname1857 4 месяца назад +2

      please please be careful about chest flattening and dancing! its unsafe to bind while exercising. i suggest high impact compression sports bras over binders. they may not flatten as much, but they wont bruise your ribs, mis-shape your ribs, or impact your ability to breathe. i know how hard it is to be the big chested one in dance (38D) (and also nonbinary) but your health is so much more important than being self conscious

    • @elisajacobsen8716
      @elisajacobsen8716 4 месяца назад

      @@insertname1857 omg thank you!! I haven't tried binding yet i've just been wearing a super compressive sports bra! But since I'm a c/d cup I feel like my chest is just way too big to flatten so the sports bra is really only good for minimizing bouncing :(
