@UnseenWhispers When it comes to just major events and fights its the same just details such as the order in things happen in certain arcs as well as scenes cut or added in the light novel that wasn't in the web novel. It's like the rough draft version of the light novel. It's not like Tensura, where the web novel is an entirely different story. Details such as when the Archbishops stop what they're doing when they hear that bell ring, in the web novel is instead them pulling out their gospels to see what's been added. There are a lot of differences, but the plot itself is the same
@UnseenWhispers So yeah, overall the story and plot between the light and web novels are exactly the same. They both follow the same key major events that take place in each arc, but there's a lot of smaller scenes and details that are either cut or added depending on which version you read as well as the order they may happen in each arc. For example Garfiel and Reinhard have a sparring match to see who's stronger and Reinhard wins in a landslide. In the light novel this was replaced with that scene where Garfiel on instinct attacked Reinhard and Subaru had to tell Garfiel to stop. Just stuff like that. So there's significant differences, but the plot itself as the same
