  • @sadiehelen
    @sadiehelen День назад

    Got diagnosed two weeks ago and have thrown myself into a sea of videos in the hopes of trying to work with myself rather than against myself… I’ve probably watched 100 tip videos on ADHD and while I found helpful tidbits while watching, this particular one has been the most helpful video I’ve come across for my current college struggles.
    I’m 32 and returned to college at 31 for a quick cert program. I’ll be done by end of this summer. I know I’ll love the job after I’m done getting through school, because it’s interesting to me, BUT getting there and getting through some of these terribly boring subjects has been driving me insane. So thank you for this. I already kinda do the search and find game thing, but always used to shame myself for doing it that way as it’s not the “normal way.” I can give myself some grace now and embrace that it’s ok to do things differently. Great advice.

    Great video, I wish I found this sooner!!
    Another tip I could add: once you've got some info studied, talk about it with friends. Like a study session, but not with only being quiet and studying together, rather interactive and your friends might have some new insight. For me at least, talking with friends made all the info stick better than only hearing it from the teacher.

    Important Points for studying:
    1. Spoilers are good
    2. Visual learning should come first before textbooks.
    3. Draw visual fun mind maps instead of writing boring textual notes. Make it as much fun as possible.
    4. Mnemonics are good. Make it NSFW if needed.
