SUIKODEN 1 SOUNDTRACK OF THE GODS!!
Forgotten Days Village of the Hidden Rune is the third of the pinnacle trio of video game music. The other two of the holy trinity being Corridors of Time from Chrono Trigger and Shevat The Wind is Calling from Xenogears.
A personal 4th favourite is the Fortress of Doom theme from the original Lufia
I transcribe video game music to piano sheet music and I turned the Fortress of Doom into a brass band piece

  • @StewNWT

My final party always has Cleo (rage/fire rune), Eileen (Thunder/lightning rune) and Tengaar (Mother Earth Rune). Balanced magic attack for the higher level combo magic and great long term damage. Viktor not having access to level 4 spells always pissed me off.
Gremio's death the first time round made me sob
There has NEVER been any video game music as sad as Theme of Sadness

There's actually a good money grind you can do right at the beginning of the game... it's the cup game. In the guide for the game, which I have put away at the moment so I can't tell you the exact pattern, if you select the correct ones then exit, you can build a ridiculous amount of cash very quickly. The only caveats to that is you can only do it the first time you meet the character who runs it right at the beginning of the game then it doesn't work anymore. I actually completely started over when I found out back when I first played it back as a kid.
Truly one of the best games I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I hope we can one day truly return to this amazing world.

I was introduced to this game in about 1998 along side two other classic JRPGs... Wild Arms and Vandal Hearts. Aside from adopting so many other JRPG classics onto my faveroit list out of that era ( Xenogears, Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve, FF Tactics) Suikoden has remained my absolute faveroit series.

    Great video, subbed!
I actually have your remaster trailer reaction video to thank for getting excited and checking into the series, I recall leaving a comment about not having tried it but since then I got around to playing Suikoden 4, Tactics and just finished Suikoden 1 a few days ago! Such a wonderful experience, Suikoden 1 is my fave so far but I didn't find S4/Tactics as bad as people said, though going into them without any expectations/expecting the worst definitely made the experience better aha. But Suikoden 1 just had so much charm, my favourites had to be Gremio/Odessa/Viktor/Kirkis/Valeria/Ted & while the story was more on the simple side I still found it really engaging.
Can't wait to play S2/S3/S5! Here's hoping the remaster & Eiyuden do really well so we can potentially get more remasters (or best case scenario bringing the Rabbit & Bear studios to work on Suikoden 6)

    • @gamebreak6395
      @gamebreak6395  Год назад +1

The more I look back at Suikoden IV the more forgiving I am of it. I like to think of Suikoden Tactics as Suikoden IV: Part 2. Taken together, I think S IV becomes a much better entry in the series. I'm glad you liked S1 too! It has a ton of charm, and with S2, S3, and S5 (some of the best in the series) you got a lot to look forward too :)
      And thanks for watching!

@@gamebreak6395 Agreed! & the rune of punishment theme has been my favourite track in the series, heck one of my fave video game tracks in general!
Also surprisingly loved Snowe and most of the designs in those games, though if it ever gets the remaster treatment I think a story rewrite would be for the best.
Yohn/Kyril were great too but I'd have loved the former to do more in the story instead of only speaking in the ending!! Reinbach has been my favourite narcissist so far
Incredibly excited for those 3 games, S3/S5 in particular had my favourite character designs that I've seen in the series so far + all the praise S2 gets makes me really want to see it for myself. I hope many others get into the series too as it deserves waaaay more attention! Already got a friend of mine following my playthroughs and we both plan to buy the remasters next year.
Please keep doing what you do for the series, videos like these deserve so much more love! I plan on watching your S2 tribute review after I beat it ^

Nostalgia punch. 1 is my favourite. I think just because of the emotional hit it gave me as a kid. Odessas death was the first really impactful scene in a game for me. I was engrossed from that point on. - I like the linear nature to Suikoden games. Pretty much just having someone new rock up at HQ asking for help. It didn’t feel overused though.
