Nah more like a stack
What an analogy. Well put.
Always.
No lie, I was just listening to Doom on this track when I walked into a bathroom stall at Newark airport and saw RIP DOOM graffitied in the stall. Straight up chills

The whole album "Cheat Codes" by Danger Mouse is amazing. Thank you for bringing old school sampled hip hop in 2022!
*Danger Mouse and Black Thought
Yeah, man. This is album of the year. Don’t care what nobody say. Makes me kinda not want to listen to nothing else🤣

woooooow incredible
I should have caught this. Thankful you pointed it out. DOOM's depths are infinite.

He didn’t say booze at all

I remember when I caught this I was shook...only DOOM can delay a punchline over several bars.
Don’t usually get upset over dead celebrities or artists, but Doom passing really was upsetting to me. So hearing him again on this track actually made my heart swell a little bit.

It’s that “Away from you” that sends me every time. Heard this while blazing up at the bus stop and a coffee shop was playing it in Vancouver Canada. Blessed to be able to listen to this art and even more blessings to MF DOOM. Even in paradise he’s giving us these lyrical gifts of life.

@@kickemindafacestyleson6986 Lol you give me the same vibes as boomers complaining about "mumble (c)rap" on Facebook. Just this year, we got big name releases from Kendrick Lamar, Denzel Curry, Earl Sweatshirt, Conway the Machine, Benny the Butcher, Westside Gunn, Saba, Vince Staples, Pusha T, a posthumous album from Phife Dawg... That's not even including the more underground rappers who have similar styles discussing serious themes with incredible bars or the other big names who have released singles this year.
If you think hip hop needs saving just because subgenres of rap you don't like are popular on TikTok but you ignore all these big names releasing good shit, idk how to help you. Black Thought and DOOM are top 5 rappers but they aren't the only ones who can "save rap" - it's been "saved" by plenty of artists this year already.

Sample is Peace of Mind by Federal Duck
Lyrically, his flow, the beat, bruh this is something else. Beyond greatness
Sample is Federal Duck, "Peace in My Mind." I thought of someone sampling this old psychedelic gem for years, and am glad someone finally did, and put some worthy rappers over it. Someone needs to flip Gandalf's "Golden Earrings," next.
I’m on it
@@user-fs1lc2cj5s "Hang onto a Dream" by Gandalf is also a banger, probably easier to flip. Let me know what you come up with, regardless.

I'm from Angola and I've always appreciated Black Thought's works and lyrics( I'm talking since about the 90's)...it is such an honor to know Black put my country's name in his lyrics but I get there's a place in US with the same name (think is a prison). This Man must be given his flowers while he's still alive. One of my favorites. And of course just remember, it's All CAPZ when you spell the villains name. ✊🏽 UBUNTU.
Beliza?
Yes, it was a reference to the prison in Louisiana, hence the use of the word "bars". I've always wondered why they chose to name it Angola, so now I'll have to research it. I know they've locked up a lot of Black men at that prison.
(Looked it up. Apparently the land was the site of a plantation and they named it Angola because a lot of the enslaved Africans and their descendants originated from there.)
It’s a prison in Louisiana, most of the slaves in that state were imported from Angola
Greetings from 🇰🇪 ✊🏾
Random but ive always thought yalls flag was weird.
That Paul Mooney line...its like one man in the afterlife giving another his flowers. So beautiful
Don't think I'll ever get over DOOM's tragic death... I'm my 61 years on earth, no other artists passing has affected me as much.
Hearing this 'new' track brings him back to life.... A bitter/ sweet moment.
Rest in Power, The Villain, DOOM. Props to Black Thought for bodying tracks on the same level.
I'm 46 years old. Haven't been this excited by a collab project in a long minute. Like, full on ordering a physical copy upon hearing just one track--this one. On the 49th anniversary of Kool Herc's legendary block party, I feel like Hip Hop has once again delivered another gem for me to enjoy. RIP DOOM
The amount of people that know Kool Herc now kills me. It's so due. I recommend The Freshest Kids documentary that focuses on breakdancing bit starts by laying the ground w Herc and breaks getting flowers. WATCH THE FRESHEST KIDS!
but these DOOM lyrics are years old and just reused.
This album has been stomping my brain since it came into my world. Masterclass in hip-hop, galactic beats and lyrics… 10/10
