Good video Amish. Just want to throw this out there for people looking to make this build. If you stick it out a little longer and spec your build for pilfering without being revealed you will max out the thief codex way faster. I did this build and switched over at 6 points and thief codex climbs very slowly with only doing mugging attempts.
very good point, I purposely left this part out since the video was getting to long, i kinda rambled on :P But yes, before starting this build in this final form, play a pilferer build to get the codex leveled up if you are in a hurry, you still need to pilfer for the first 6 points to get shadow hands unlocked, afterwards it doesnt really matter what you do.
Hey there! I pivoted to this build on live, before even running it for a pass on Test, and I love it! I needed to re-purpose my old summoner necro since my tamer duplicates it :). This build is so much fun - where has Shadow aspect been all of my life?! So glad for your guide - thank you!
If you are gonna take the backstabber to ssc, abuse the pillars, they break line of sight. I try and avoid farming in 1 and 2 on my backstabber since people will either attack the mobs you are setting up for, or they will pull a mob without knowing. So I usually will go into the echo gates and farm them, 9 times out of 10 there wont be anyone in them, so its easy farming for you, you just need to play carefully.
I cut the video short, i could of added more details, so if you are curious about anything else, just hit me up, i will answer any questions to the best of my ability. Also thanks for the worling around videos, they are very entertaining, keep up the good work.
Great video, only thing that would be nice is example footage of the gameplay while you are talking at some point in the video. Id watch 30m or you looting full carry capacity of gold from a dungeon on that build in a different video aswell.
id go tier 7 asap for blackguard, you dont really use the finisher much as a backstabber, so its not as important as getting blackguard finished in my opinion.
you dont need 100 dex, i just am a warrior on all templates, so 100 dex is my default. and if you drop tactics below 80 it will not allow you to use the codex unless you have the one skill active in the thief codex
Technically, yes you can do this with an archer, BUT the rules for mugging/pilfering from a mob, requires you to be within 1 tile of the mob when you make your mugging attempt. So yes you can mug from a mob with archery, but you will probably want to run tier 3 overlooked with it if you go this route, so you are less likely to get caught in the mob aggro. After you get the steal attempt off successfully, then you can play it like a regular backstabber archer.
someone on the outlands discord said the damage on long spear was broken and short spears were better.. i dunno if its true or not but i've been using short spears regardless.
normally the slower the weapon the better, but i do think its correct that the long spear is kinda broken at the moment, i dont notice a massive difference, so i would just suggest going with a pitchfork or short spear, they are the same speeds and damage.
only reason i would suggest going to this build, is because of the mugging and black goods. you make money faster, and thats all that really matters in the end.
Thanks for the Video. Where are some good places to hunt? Oss is pretty good, but is there anywhere else with decent Gold per hour for a Tier 7 Shadow Backstabber?
Usually my suggestion for backstabbing areas, if the dungeon has "walls', then its probably a decent place, if it has walls that look like its man made walls, then they are usually at a 90 degree angle, which makes it alot easier to run around it and then simply break line of sight and hide. so some suggestions. oss, aegis, undermountain, level 2 cav, level 2 DM, maus, pulma, ssc, and forsaken keep all have 'man made walls'
I'm glad this build works for you but I still want to point out that I would never play or even recommend anyone play a backstabber without either hamstring or hinder. I mean it literally breaks the strategy of backstab and run and hide for a second backstab when the mobs are free to follow you. Sure you can smoke bombs as an alternative, but you don't even have "without a trace" maxed out either so you are still waiting 1:40 between smoke bomb uses. For fairness, I'll post the build I use since I'm criticizing your build: Archery, tactics, stealing, hiding - 100 stealth, arms lore 120, chivalry 80. Yeah I can't carry half as much and I can get blindsided by reds if I don't get any warnings from my guild alliance, but also I can consistently kill nearly anything safely and I do a decent job as a pure dexxer when the need arises.

Nice video Amish! Hope you keep making them in 2023!
I feel like I could backstab my way through ssc2 like a pro now. Thanks Amish!

Nice vídeo Amish, hugs joey
So I dont know how to make those Cooldown bars show up. I made the Cooldowns in the Option tab and apply and saved but they never show up.
Outstanding
No need snooping for this build ? Thanks for video

Hello, great vid. What armor type you usually use?
I want more Amish guides!
more are coming, planning to do atleast one a week
On blackguard in the codex, go 100% and then every other one to 5 for finisher, or 5 black guard then 5 the rest?

@@ProudFootProduction that's what I was thinking, but a guildmate was telling me to get the finisher... but I think he has poison backstabber too.
Why do you need 100 dex and does weapon codex works if drop tactics? Thx

Is it worth switching from a "pure" Fencing Backstabber to this build?
only reason i would suggest going to this build, is because of the mugging and black goods. you make money faster, and thats all that really matters in the end.
