Sam, thanks so much for this... Grace is by nature the most authentic, transparent artist, and every one of her performing moments reflects it. It's never a 'show' ; it's always just Grace being Grace "... I had a burp..." with no excusing words, no real embarasment, just like 'oh, yeah... that happened...' so let's move on. How can anyone... when HAS there been anyone, like it? She strikes me in the heart every time! This is one amazing performance and deserves preservation! Again, my most sincere thank you!
Well, I must admit, I was truly blown away by "I Need A Dollar." I knew she spoke jazz, but to speak blues, and so fluently....It's becoming very apparent this girl speaks several musical languages. Thank you Sam for all you do to keep this beautiful talent relevant. the time has arrived to get people talking about Grace again, I am trying to come up with ideas, I want to get a wildfire of her name to spread. I am but a very small channel, but size is irrelevant, all it takes is a tiny cigarette to burn 1000's and 1000's of acres.
Thanks Jman, and thanks for what you're doing. Sadly fans can only do so much when it comes to spreading and promoting a very small artist. Fans did a decent job in the past. But when Grace's producer tweeted saying he is freaked out by middle aged men tweeting about her multiple times a day, with which Grace agreed, a lot of that died down. Grace needs to release music very often and her label needs to spend good money and promote her aggressively everywhere, otherwise the word won't spread without some kind of a miracle.
(France Burgundy 🐌) Oh my Grace!!!. from the first scene until today, you have always had immense talent and a warm and unbelievable voice, you are truly a living legend.. we love you Grace.
(France Burgundy🐌) OH my Grace! Thank you Sam and excuse me I'm not always on the web, your approval touches me I never use technical terms, I'm not here to show off, but just open my heart, for an exceptional artist. We love you Grace. 🦋🦋🦋
Grace, this is one of so many special moments you’ve created on your short time on this planet. 🌍 You are a superstar with (like the wizard of oz) confidence and vulnerability, bright thinker and organizer. Of the many musicians I have enjoyed in my life, you are right up there with the young Miles Davis, Karen Carpenter and maybe Janis Ian. You blow me away...
"I need a Dollar" shows Grace's scat maturity. For years she has leaning towards blues and jazzy songs and I love this rendition because Grace shows a fantastic genre transformation that has been coming for a long time. I yearn for her continued growth. I love to hear her sing blues and Jazz. Thanks again Sam
But there is so much Beauty in this cruel world. Beauty is only skin deep, but ugliness is hard to the bone, without ugliness; there would be no Beauty. Stay Safe! 🌼🎶
Oh what I would give to have been sitting there in Grace’s treehouse coffeehouse watching and listening to this performance! She’s such a natural. I think these bluesy jazzy ones I like the most. Oh who am I kidding? I love them all. Thanks Sam.
Your absolutely correct, Grace sitting in a coffee house, me with a cup of Joe and this unbelievable performances would be the best evening out ever!! I've been watching this on my 60in and it's like being there!!
Before she started it would be like this. Grace: If anyone has to go to the washroom go now I don't want to stop for you, Barrrrbara. James, take a cough candy now I don't need you clearing your throat every 20 seconds. Greg, stop shuffling it's distracting. My moms bringing water just in case any of you need to take your pills. What's that smell? Cal is that your feet? Mom, light that incense. Grace says a little aside to Tina "I wonder what a concert in Austin would be like if everyone was old."
For me, Grace is the most underrated singer / songwriter of all time. Her last EP "Letter Volume I" completely changed the style of her songs and her first song in this new style was "Stray", which was only found on the Japan version of "Letters Volume 1"!
Damn, this is the first i seen this. MY GOD SHE SOUNDS SO GOOD. Most won't sing in any environment, they don't want folks to hear their raw voice. Grace sounds so good anywhere and everywhere, electronics or none, band or solo. Just backing up my very first "gut feeling" . Some don't know it yet, but they will. She is of the rarest kind, so rare, most won't have one one during their lifetimes. I have been lucky to see two, but Prince is gone now, so she is the "only one". she is such a trip
Thank you Sam for this version of this video, as usual Grace made this iconic song so recent. I just love her song choices. Grace is plain and simple a indispensable force in new music and some of the best iconic music ever written. What other artist would even bother to sing songs that older people have grown up to? No one!!!
Grace puts so much of her soul into her singing I go to another place where the greats are listening! if that makes any sense! I mean, look at the genius in her coffee house concert for her fans! Her voice, her coffee shop imagination is incredible to me!
@@jayschwartz6131 we know that, that's what makes it genius! Grace thought of this herself, the imagining of a live audience made us feel like we were in a coffee shop concert. Grace is to unbearable for words! In a good way, she knows more about the blues than most and can lay it down hard, no one like her,! Grace could sing the news paper and it would be amazing, no cookie cutter music here, just the best singer I've heard!
Grace excels at whatever she performs. If she does a blues/jazz album (I hope she will), I'll buy a few copies. I've seen many of the big and popular perform live and it's almost always disappointing; they just can't do it without studio tricks. Grace live never disappoints, her live performances are most impressive.
Grace, thanks for this night in the Tree House (Tapes). One of the most magical creations you've brought across the screen. You took something that could've been blah and turned it into a magical masterpiece bringing back the spirits of female artists who have come before. Really intense for me!
(France Burgundy🐌) Hi Sam, thank you for taking the time to like me, always faithful to the post to contribute in my modest way, by my likes to the success of Grace Wanderwaal, I saw in your video, for the last song of Grace 10Million views it's great.
Thanks! I figured since she created such a calm vibe throughout the whole thing, the interruptions didn't help with that. Usually I keep all her glitches because her reactions are funny. This time I felt it was better without them. Since others have posted it with the glitches, we still have a record of those out there.
SOMEHOW I didn't realize or had forgotten this version existed. Why was I listening to the noisy versions? ***scratching head*** Thank for the audio clean up!
Same here, seen every one from PP&M, Dylan, M&TP, Janis,Jonie,King, and now my favorite Grace!! She will be that great or greater than the iconics some day! That is my prediction!!
Sam, off the subject (and man I hope you read this), but I just watched your extraordinary video of Grace's Austin City Limits Festival concert for the umpteenth time. facebook.com/sam.borgman.canada/videos/310691549404871/ I cannot logoff my computer for the night without thanking you once more for it. I have watched MANY concerts in person and on line. But this, this is nothing like any thing I've ever seen before! NO ONE has ever connected with an audience on a personal level like Grace did here in all my many years of loving music. She is one of them, the audience; they are having fun together, suffering in the heat together. She didn't say "I'm hot, you're hot, but here's my music, hope you like it." Instead she said "It's hot, but what the heck, let's all have fun anyway." The concert was an amazing gift to the audience, and your video of it a gift to us. And did I mention, SHE'S 13. Nothing can explain this phenomenon in plain English. Yet you captured it. Thanks again, it means a lot.
I know what you mean Neil. Everytime I play it I find it hard to stop it without watching the whole thing. Something unexplainable about that whole performance, it is just addicting. @@neilmikesell6075 My pleasure really. Glad to be the messenger then. The appreciation from Grace fans are just the cherry on top :)
