I’m glad Cam Ward is playing, I would hate for Emory to get any useful experience before next season. The trophy is a working toaster and that is very useful for the program. Not only can you make toast but you might be able to heat a pastelito.
Mendoza would be a smarter get than Noland. For starters he's an upperclassmen which doesn't create a problem down the road with Nickle the way Noland would. Secondly he has plenty of experience and the intelligence to lead that QB room which is full of youngsters.
I think Luke probably can become a freshman starter. Albeit, Williams stepped in last night for Ward (arguably the best college quarterback in the country) and looked like a deer in the headlights. Understood, Williams has no recent game experience, however, his passes were inaccurate and he has no mobility. Experience this year shows us how important it is to have a mobile quarterback.
