Even though I knew something bad was about to happen to Nana and Ren, the author has dropped the hints since the beginning with Hachi’s narrative and through some scenes happening in the future; even then I wasn’t ready when Ren died. I knew he was gonna die at some point but it all happened so quickly, the emotions .... I couldn’t stop crying for days, every time I thought about his death. I think because the author has done such a wonderful job conveying the pain of every characters, I could feel the pain and despair they went through. Every so often I listen to Kuroi Namida and it makes me very emotional. The anime I keep going back and watch it again almost every year, it’s like a tradition. It’s hard to part with the story and characters and I feel like I know so much about. It’s almost like I know them irl, which is crazy. The first time I watched the anime was in 2009, but the manga I only read it in 2013. Since then I’ve been waiting for the ending of this story, I’ve heard the author is getting much better since 2015, I hope she will continue this manga and give us some closure 🙏

I wanted to express a bit my thoughts so this will be kinda long. There is a moment in the manga when we can see NanaO with long hair in a future saying that she'll buy herself a present: a one way ticket to Tokyo, so she definitely will come back from wherever she is hiding, and most likely reunite with her friends in a very emotional scene I would totally love to read. I'm still unsure about the reasons she left in the first place, when we clearly see how she starts to get better as time passes by, and starts slowly being herself by the end of the manga. There must be some critical and decisive moment we haven't seen yet that make her feel worse again, and just wanting to isolate herself from everyone she knows or knows her. That's the only thing I can't discover of all the theories I made up in my mind about the continuation of this beautiful manga. I also definitely want to see more of the little Ren. I suppose he's the first son that Nana was expecting still in the anime, and I really want to see the process of how she decides to name him "Ren". (Maybe it is somehow related to why NanaO left? Idk yet). It was a fact that Takumi and Hachi will divorce at some time in the future, I just didn't expect it to be shown that fast. (I'm glad tho). I'm also interested in Nobu. Really, really interested. My forever ship of HachixNobu will never die, and that last scene of the anime made it clear for me. There is, and still will be something between those two, but right now I can't think of a way that may actually work out. It's complicated. And lastly, I do hope Yazawa Ai manages to deal with the enormous pressure she must have on her shoulders right now and continue the manga. It's obvious that the longer you wait and hold it on pause, the more people will read it in that period of time and become obsessed with it (I mean, how could you not?). If I were Yazawa and I had that "artistic mind block" time, I would feel frightened, anxious and really pressured to write a continuation that stands up to the expectations of millions of readers around the whole world. But still, no matter what, I believe that it's been such a long time that our wounded hearts just want an ending to all this pain and uncertainty we are carrying way too much years now. This is a manga that is worth the wait... No matter how many time passes... Ten years... Fifty years... I'll still be waiting. And it will be forever worth it. It's been 5 years since I discovered Nana and hooked up with the rest on the train of emotional instability. How about you?

Oui c'est bien vrai. Elle a dit dans un magazine qu'elle finirait bien Nana mais "un jour". Ça fait 8 ans et on ne sait pas combien de temps il faudra encore attendre. Pourtant ça fait un bout de temps qu'elle s'est remise à dessiner, des chapitres bonus et des illustrations paraissent régulièrement. Peut-être qu'elle veut terminer tout le manga d'un coup pour éviter une nouvelle coupure?

Andres Esther you can read English online in mangadex. For physical copies, you try check on ebay (can find used one), amazon, book depository (recommended if you wanna buy new one). The english publisher is a US based company so it’s not gonna be cheap sadly. While the used set in Japanese only cost around 10USD on zenmarket 😂

You know how fluid life can be, and so is my mind in how it goes on with Nana, always depending on mood and personal feelings. Anyway, I'll alter the story around the anime's ending instead of the manga. The anime feels much more vivid to me than a plain drawing does. You remember what Nana promised to Hachi in front of flashlights and cameras? That she will rock the show just for her? And as you know - she and BLAST made it. That's my point of entry. The onstage performance of the BLACK STONES with Nana in front guaranteed the success, making sure of getting famous all over with an afterglow bright like nothing else. Hachi would see her in the gleaming spotlights, would see Nana’s reflection on cover pages and centerfolds of any tabloids. The radio stations would broadcast BLAST’s unique sound. But for what, thinks Nana, sitting among her friends, a cigarette in her left hand and a cocktail with melting ice in her right. Totally sunken in her foggy thoughts she's drifting away, blending out the party ruckus surrounding her. The more she's drifting away the clearer it becomes by realizing that something is missing. Something? No, not something but someone. And it's not the someone who's demanding her to sign a long-term contact with one of the most influential music labels. Not bothering by simply leaving the party unexcused, she silently made her exit. Once out in the open she finally starts running, stumbling. While regaining balance Nana stops a cab. I actually don't want Nana to comeback! Everything in Tokyo are just painful memories. The ones who put a smile on her face now are excruciating with sorrow. Hachi chose to have a family with Takumi and has children who has to take care of Yasu has a family as well, he isn't a love interest anymore Nobu has a hotel to take care of and potentially a wedding with Yuri Shin isn't and can't be someone that will help her in that dam city Why would she go back? To meet with Hachi once a week when she gets free time? To play sometimes for the good old days memories with the ex Blast? To suffer, to be in pain just to satisfy others desire that she is the same old Nana who will stay alone in a apartment and sing in pubs for a living and meet up with them once a week, a month, maybe even a year? That's cruel! Nana O doeesn t deserve this. Why would she restart her life with people that failed her? She loves them and they love her but THEY have families, money to earn and priorities. Nana needs someone who will make her a priority. As you know in the manga and anime she was portrayed as a strong minded girl on the outside but inside she just wants someone who will only look at her. And she knows this isn't possible, but at least to put her as a priority. Nana needed Ren but now his gone. He was her everything, a safe place to be, someone who loved her dearly but everything vanished away. So that's why she needs to stay in London. To find her reason to live, to find somebody, someone, something that only belongs to her. Singing is at the current situation what keeps her going. Her biggest strength is her voice. What I think would happen if tha manga gets a continuation She will eventually go back when he finds the strings of her fate and faith within. What I want to happen: To tell a message to that private investigator, or even go back and say all her problems and what solution has come up with: to stay in London. I want a reunion that will put an end to all off the questions, ipothesis etc. Nana will tell Nobu Hachi Yasu and Shin that she loves them and hope they will continue a new life but she doesn't belong there anymore because there is nobody that could fill the hole in her heart. At contrary, that hole will only get deeper and deeper falling into the darkness. That's what I hope it will happen, to start a fresh new life making new memories while holding onto the old one as a life lesson.
I still think that Hachi is the only one who can still heal Nana. They still share letters with each other in the future and she is the only person that Nana kept contacting despite everything. This must means something,isn't? Hachi never failed Nana,in my opinion. They all were younger and reckless so that's why all that stuff with Takumi happened. I bet that future Hachi and future Nana would be the most wonderful and loyals best friends in the whole media fiction,that's for sure. Poor girls suffered enough,and they deserve to be together again as a second chance,because that's theirs ultimate fate!

non dans un interview ce septembre 2016 ai yazawa a déclaré qu'elle va faire de son mieux pour la terminer et elle a même remercier les fans pour leur patiente donc garde espoir 😊

Nobu no tenía la madurez para cuidar de Hachi, es un gran chico, no había manera. Además Nobu no quería la ayuda de Nana por que ella veía a Hachi como una propiedad, una mascota. En general así de desconsiderada era con todos (comprendo que era su manera de dar amor), pero esto lastimaba a todos, ya que cada uno tenía un pasado de culpas y desprecios.

Even though I knew something bad was about to happen to Nana and Ren, the author has dropped the hints since the beginning with Hachi’s narrative and through some scenes happening in the future; even then I wasn’t ready when Ren died. I knew he was gonna die at some point but it all happened so quickly, the emotions .... I couldn’t stop crying for days, every time I thought about his death. I think because the author has done such a wonderful job conveying the pain of every characters, I could feel the pain and despair they went through. Every so often I listen to Kuroi Namida and it makes me very emotional. The anime I keep going back and watch it again almost every year, it’s like a tradition. It’s hard to part with the story and characters and I feel like I know so much about. It’s almost like I know them irl, which is crazy. The first time I watched the anime was in 2009, but the manga I only read it in 2013. Since then I’ve been waiting for the ending of this story, I’ve heard the author is getting much better since 2015, I hope she will continue this manga and give us some closure 🙏

I wanted to express a bit my thoughts so this will be kinda long.
There is a moment in the manga when we can see NanaO with long hair in a future saying that she'll buy herself a present: a one way ticket to Tokyo, so she definitely will come back from wherever she is hiding, and most likely reunite with her friends in a very emotional scene I would totally love to read. I'm still unsure about the reasons she left in the first place, when we clearly see how she starts to get better as time passes by, and starts slowly being herself by the end of the manga. There must be some critical and decisive moment we haven't seen yet that make her feel worse again, and just wanting to isolate herself from everyone she knows or knows her. That's the only thing I can't discover of all the theories I made up in my mind about the continuation of this beautiful manga.
I also definitely want to see more of the little Ren. I suppose he's the first son that Nana was expecting still in the anime, and I really want to see the process of how she decides to name him "Ren". (Maybe it is somehow related to why NanaO left? Idk yet). It was a fact that Takumi and Hachi will divorce at some time in the future, I just didn't expect it to be shown that fast. (I'm glad tho).
I'm also interested in Nobu. Really, really interested. My forever ship of HachixNobu will never die, and that last scene of the anime made it clear for me. There is, and still will be something between those two, but right now I can't think of a way that may actually work out. It's complicated.
And lastly, I do hope Yazawa Ai manages to deal with the enormous pressure she must have on her shoulders right now and continue the manga. It's obvious that the longer you wait and hold it on pause, the more people will read it in that period of time and become obsessed with it (I mean, how could you not?). If I were Yazawa and I had that "artistic mind block" time, I would feel frightened, anxious and really pressured to write a continuation that stands up to the expectations of millions of readers around the whole world.
But still, no matter what, I believe that it's been such a long time that our wounded hearts just want an ending to all this pain and uncertainty we are carrying way too much years now. This is a manga that is worth the wait... No matter how many time passes... Ten years... Fifty years... I'll still be waiting. And it will be forever worth it.

Oui c'est bien vrai. Elle a dit dans un magazine qu'elle finirait bien Nana mais "un jour". Ça fait 8 ans et on ne sait pas combien de temps il faudra encore attendre. Pourtant ça fait un bout de temps qu'elle s'est remise à dessiner, des chapitres bonus et des illustrations paraissent régulièrement. Peut-être qu'elle veut terminer tout le manga d'un coup pour éviter une nouvelle coupure?

Andres Esther you can read English online in mangadex. For physical copies, you try check on ebay (can find used one), amazon, book depository (recommended if you wanna buy new one). The english publisher is a US based company so it’s not gonna be cheap sadly. While the used set in Japanese only cost around 10USD on zenmarket 😂

You know how fluid life can be, and so is my mind in how it goes on with Nana, always depending on mood and personal feelings.
Anyway, I'll alter the story around the anime's ending instead of the manga. The anime feels much more vivid to me than a plain drawing does.
You remember what Nana promised to Hachi in front of flashlights and cameras? That she will rock the show just for her? And as you know - she and BLAST made it. That's my point of entry.
The onstage performance of the BLACK STONES with Nana in front guaranteed the success, making sure of getting famous all over with an afterglow bright like nothing else. Hachi would see her in the gleaming spotlights, would see Nana’s reflection on cover pages and centerfolds of any tabloids. The radio stations would broadcast BLAST’s unique sound.
But for what, thinks Nana, sitting among her friends, a cigarette in her left hand and a cocktail with melting ice in her right. Totally sunken in her foggy thoughts she's drifting away, blending out the party ruckus surrounding her.
The more she's drifting away the clearer it becomes by realizing that something is missing. Something? No, not something but someone. And it's not the someone who's demanding her to sign a long-term contact with one of the most influential music labels.
Not bothering by simply leaving the party unexcused, she silently made her exit. Once out in the open she finally starts running, stumbling. While regaining balance Nana stops a cab. The traffic was light, no obstacles slowing her down. One block to go, one corner to bend. Just before the cab reaches the final stop and a wad of cash twice as much as the actual fare made its landing on the dashboard, Nana was already out on the front yard. Breathlessly of anticipation she’s flying up the stairs with the keys already in her hands. Shaking fingers insert the wrong one. Damn it! The wrong key! Where for god’s sake is the… oh, here we go. Soothing herself as best she could in a twisted situation like this, she pushes the door open and steps in nonchalant.
With a deep thump the door fells into its locks, and sudden silence is engulfing her. No noise, just the drumming of the heartbeat in her ears. Of course she could excuse this with all the running home. But is that so? Is that the answer?
Nana takes her usual place at the kitchen table. It’s the one offering the best view out the window. But with the late hour there is not much to see, just some distant city lights.
It takes her a couple of minutes to regain fully consciousness. Her gaze takes in every detail around her. Nothing’s changed. How could it with no one at home. Even the two jars with the strawberry design are on the table. One hers, one Hatchi’s.
As time goes by, it’s already an hour or two, Nana sits back and lights another cigarette. She knows that she has to quit that habit at some point. But not now. The deep inhaling of the smoke helps her to relax, like floating above all things. She enjoys the silence for some moments, but being alone here and now reveals the unmistakable feeling of loneliness.
The dim light coming in from the street illuminates a single teardrop, and, while rolling down her cheek, another one. Let them roll…
“Hey, Nana. Are you crying?” The voice more a whisper.
“Hey, Hatchi. You’re a little late”. The voice more a breath.
“Hey, Nana. Yasu asked where you are. I said we are at home. He’ll drop by with the others later.”
“Yes, we’re home.”

Hachi chose to have a family with Takumi and has children who has to take care of
Yasu has a family as well, he isn't a love interest anymore
Nobu has a hotel to take care of and potentially a wedding with Yuri
Shin isn't and can't be someone that will help her in that dam city
Why would she go back?
To meet with Hachi once a week when she gets free time?
To play sometimes for the good old days memories with the ex Blast?
To suffer, to be in pain just to satisfy others desire that she is the same old Nana who will stay alone in a apartment and sing in pubs for a living and meet up with them once a week, a month, maybe even a year? That's cruel! Nana O doeesn t deserve this.
Why would she restart her life with people that failed her?
She loves them and they love her but THEY have families, money to earn and priorities.
Nana needs someone who will make her a priority.
As you know in the manga and anime she was portrayed as a strong minded girl on the outside but inside she just wants someone who will only look at her. And she knows this isn't possible, but at least to put her as a priority. Nana needed Ren but now his gone. He was her everything, a safe place to be, someone who loved her dearly but everything vanished away.
So that's why she needs to stay in London. To find her reason to live, to find somebody, someone, something that only belongs to her.
Singing is at the current situation what keeps her going. Her biggest strength is her voice.
What I think would happen if tha manga gets a continuation
She will eventually go back when he finds the strings of her fate and faith within.
What I want to happen:
To tell a message to that private investigator, or even go back and say all her problems and what solution has come up with: to stay in London. I want a reunion that will put an end to all off the questions, ipothesis etc. Nana will tell Nobu Hachi Yasu and Shin that she loves them and hope they will continue a new life but she doesn't belong there anymore because there is nobody that could fill the hole in her heart. At contrary, that hole will only get deeper and deeper falling into the darkness.
That's what I hope it will happen, to start a fresh new life making new memories while holding onto the old one as a life lesson.

I still think that Hachi is the only one who can still heal Nana. They still share letters with each other in the future and she is the only person that Nana kept contacting despite everything. This must means something,isn't? Hachi never failed Nana,in my opinion. They all were younger and reckless so that's why all that stuff with Takumi happened. I bet that future Hachi and future Nana would be the most wonderful and loyals best friends in the whole media fiction,that's for sure. Poor girls suffered enough,and they deserve to be together again as a second chance,because that's theirs ultimate fate!

J'adore Nana perso c'est ce qui m'a fait découvrir le monde des manga, j'attend la suite depuis plus de 2 ans maintenant... et je ne pense pas que je l'a verrais un jour, l'auteur est malade et si cette maladie dure depuis tout ce temps sa n'augure rien de bon =/ je pense qu'il n'y aura pas de suite et que l'histoire va être inachevée malheureusement
non dans un interview ce septembre 2016 ai yazawa a déclaré qu'elle va faire de son mieux pour la terminer et elle a même remercier les fans pour leur patiente donc garde espoir 😊

Nobu no tenía la madurez para cuidar de Hachi, es un gran chico, no había manera. Además Nobu no quería la ayuda de Nana por que ella veía a Hachi como una propiedad, una mascota. En general así de desconsiderada era con todos (comprendo que era su manera de dar amor), pero esto lastimaba a todos, ya que cada uno tenía un pasado de culpas y desprecios.
