    Love your videos. Always straight to the point and not lots of chat in-between only explanation as to what the exercise does and how it helps. Also you are such a likeable person. Thank so much! From another Kathleen 🥰

    Love this warm-up, Kathleen! You included some exercises I’ve never done, & the extensions into the higher range are quite helpful for me. Thank you so much!

    Thanks so much for all your warm ups! I can’t really afford lessons right now, so these have been such a gift!❤ I started with your 12 minute warm-up and it was a great simple warm-up since I hadn’t been singing for a while. My choir Director said I didn’t know what to do with my tongue and I thought that was really interesting, something that I needed to pay attention to-I felt he was right. So doing the short warm-up and listening to your direction gave me a chance to really tune into that and more. Now this is the third one of your warm-ups that I done after quite a while of doing the 12 minute warm-up. I love this one!! And I feel like my voice is growing to be able to do it. Thank you again! So happy to be singing again!! (and I appreciate your cats as I have a rescue and always appreciate cat lovers😊)

    Hello Kathleen! I think this is one of my favorites so far. The tips in-between I found quite helpful and I have realized that by doing your work outs daily I can reach my higher notes with much more ease. Thank you so much!!

    Hi, thanks for continuing this series. I am just recovered from Covid and, while I can hit the higher notes in your program, I cannot sustain them, and need extra breaths. Would you consider putting something for stamina in with a plan of warmups?

    • @VocalWarmupsWithKathleen
      @VocalWarmupsWithKathleen  2 года назад +1

      You bet. For issues like recovering from illness, I'd work more on full body things (movement, stretching, exercise)... you definitely don't want to over-tax the vocal mechanism. So, in addition to getting the full body back to where it needs to be, I'd put extra focus on technique and rehab exercises. Here are a couple I might recommend. Hope you're feeling better! Cathleen(?), I love all the videos you have here on RUclips. I use them daily and they have really helped my vocal health. I’m curious about what you do for vocal cool down? I don’t see any vocal cooldown videos from you but maybe you just use a warm up video for a cool down?
    Also, what’s this business about vocal fry? I’ve been singing all my life and never heard of it until just recently. Thanks for all you do! Molly in New Hampshire 🤗✌️

      Hmmmm vocal cool down: I think it's one of those things that if you like it, it can be helpful - mostly I look at it as releasing tension... but hopefully there won't be *too* much at the end of singing anyway. You can definitely use the same warmups as cool downs (the easy ones at the beginning). Here is a very small study on the topic: kariragan.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/The-Impact-of-Vocal-Cool-Down-JOV-2015-.pdf
      As far as vocal fry (as an exercise, not as a linguistic phenomenon) goes - I use it at times to encourage total relaxation and allow the vocal folds to vibrate in a very different pattern momentarily. Thanks for your questions!

    I'm a Sweet Adeline and have developed a wobble, wave, huge vibrato that I need to tighten up. This is kind of a new complication and is affecting my performance. What have you got that I can build on to keep me in my chorus.

    • @VocalWarmupsWithKathleen
      @VocalWarmupsWithKathleen  Год назад

      Understandable - this instability is quite common... my top suggestions are 1) do as much as you can for general physical health (exercise, food, hydration, etc) and 2) SO MANY SOVT exercises! I'd spend a lot of time on lip trills, singing through a straw, singing through a cup with a hole poked in the bottom of it, singing through a straw... ruclips.net/video/tm6wUbvtwQc/видео.html
      3) anything that works on efficiency/full vocal fold closure and breath coordination will be excellent for you ruclips.net/video/m99rpaCiSqs/видео.html
      Keep me posted!
