I have really enjoyed this concert. I love Joe Conzo (I read Mambo Diablo), and the gentleman who is with him. I also really enjoyed watching and listening to Ronnie Puente play.

Mtro. Madera is not off key. He’s got an ugly voice and his mike is always way up. In his defense, a planet without Maestro Madera would suck. He is our most important musician alive. Think of a Billy Strayhorn, a Count Basie, Juan Tizol, Chico O’Farrill, Tito Puente, René Hernández, all wrapped into one. Long live Mtro. Madera.

I agree. I am not an expert but some of these Puente recreations sound better than the originals to my ears.

Ronny Puentes no hizo mayor aporte. Muy simple en el timbal y el vibráfomo.
