- freestyling rhythm game???? I'm sold
Excuse the sudden cuts, I'm trying to learn PC video editing (who would've guessed it's harder than editing on mobile? genius!)
also this game is INCREDIBLE. i could praise it for hours on end.
The music.
The art.
The gameplay.
And the overall effort that was put into this project makes it the highlight of SAGE 2022 for me.

All in all, I think Melodii is just a simple representation of the player, so any pronouns work.
And as the comment above states, LJ said they use any pronouns, so we could even refer to them as a “he” and it’d still be correct.

The Nami freestyle sounded cool, but on the rest the songs it just sounded broken at any part where melodii talks. I think the devs will have to take some more looks at the scoring system before it's done.
I mean I'm pretty sure that's how the old Parappa the Rapper games were too. It's either streamline that and take away the the feeling of those games, or put up with some sketch audio to keep the goofy fun of the originals.
Suggestion I'd have is that if that scoring system still occurs to have it to where button inputs will make background noise while Melodii sings so it doesn't inherently interrupt her lines. The best example I know of in the game is where in Stir and Mix there's the sections where your read the instructions but you can use the inputs to remix it without detracting from the lines. Because I feel like that'd give more room for freestyling without making Melodii's lyrics completely untranslatable. That or maybe make it so that doing a spam like that makes a unique noise like humming/beatboxing or something not as harsh sounding. While it would interrupt the vocals for Melodii that wouldn't sound janky and let freestyling be a thing.
I LOVE this game, but the mixing isn't quite there yet in general. Some of the songs, especially the clown one (even though he's my favorite character), just don't feel well-composed. The Nami song is GOLDEN though, I have no complaints.

Personally I hope that they keep the lyric freestyle stuff, or add a setting to change it between that and the beatboxing thing.

I think a way they could fix the seizure that Melodii has during jamtimes song is by having a subtle cue to follow with her instead of freestyling. Like with Synthz Mcwave he could say something like," yo by the way don"t worry about following the recipe. Just make the burgers the way you want" and for Jamtime they could say," And remember when baking to follow the recipe!" I don't know how well that would work but it would be interesting. I just love how this game pays respect to one of the most beloved PlayStation 2 titles of all time Parappa the rapper. This game is not a Friday night Funkin not in the slightest. This is a game of its own. The amount of effort put into this is spectacular, and even watching the entire video by itself reminds me of the PlayStation 2 era and no game was able to do this apart from this one.
