"Porpoise Song"/"As We Go Along" is one of the finest singles in music history this side of "Strawberry Fields Forever"/"Penny Lane." Gerry Goffin outdid himself on "Porpoise"'s production. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
After deconstructing it, even the individual instruments have that majestic, ethereal, otherworldly quality. Truly a special song. Thanks, as always, for each of these.❤
Beautiful! Thank you so very much for doing this for us. I for one, am thoroughly grateful for all your hard work, and effort in dissecting this classic.
Excellent deconstruction Septyl. And good move going with the single version with the extra minute of drums and drone, compared to the edit on the album. I think this was the only Monkees track Gerry Goffin actually produced. Psychedelia at it’s finest.
Thanks for this. I was really hoping you would use the 1991 mix on the “Listen To The Band” box set as your source. It’s a much better mix than the regular full length stereo mixes found on most compilations. For one thing, it’s in stereo, but it’s mixed to match the mono single mix, so we get more of those glorious bells that were dialed down in the final stereo mix.

Sorry you feel bad about this deconstruction but your work is exceptional. We all appreciate your work.
Thank you Septyl for your exceptional work- I sure hope you keep it going. I enjoy these so much!
This one blew my mind when it was released and so did the movie "head' Thank You!!
great job deconstructing it....
Also- it might be a fun experiment to deconstruct Swami Plus Strings.
Leon and Kootch? Had no idea! Love the isolated spacey keyboards! Groovy!
Oh hell yeah here we go!
I was waiting for this one! Thanks!
