Chinese being the worst in this. They eat endangered animals, dogs and cats as well. The Japanese is milder in this regard.

Those are Slipper lobsters, they are not true lobsters, but are more closely related to spiny lobsters and furry lobsters. I couldn't eat them, they look too cute.
Trust me when I say the broth/soup made with their fresh shells and head is absolutely divine. Deep umami flavour, sweet with a smell profile remeniscent of crabs and shrimp. The cooked meat is tough tho.

And theres a main artery connecting from the heart down through the tail. And thats right where the guy put the knife to separate. To me it seems if you got separated in hail with your main artities also severef, youd be dead. A lobsters tail is not the same as a mammals tail, its not simply just a tail. Its half the body, and if you got cut in half youd be dead
There are alot of people talking about how the lobster was killed and such.... but honestly... did you see how they respected that lobster.. when the only unused part of the food was some lost liquid during cutting... thats respecting the food.. sorry but just my .02

Tata Apare lobsters have one large central nervous system with small lesser functioning brains through it's body, so a cut to the head isn't more or less direct than one through the body. A cut through any main part of the lobster is essentially the same as decapitation in other animals.
