writing this comment now because I might forget later:
at around 40:30, you ask why the crew is so loyal despite ahab being so terrible. You have to remember, Ishmael is describing her from the perspective of someone who already hates her, and is speaking in metaphors. She didn't *litteraly* have a leash around the crew's throat, Ishmael was just reffering to how Ahab was so good at manipulating them that they didn't have time to think about any other goals except for her own. Like how pip was so scared of going into the deck because of the mermaid down below, but ahab manages to spin it into being a necessary act to kill the pallid whale, and all of their desires will be fulfilled. She was able to consistently convince people that their goals would all align with hers at every turn, and she showed herself to them that she was a reliable leader that always pulled through no matter what wave they had gone through.

and that's *exactly* why ahab was being honest when she said she didn't mind ishmael killing her. We just never found out why she's obsessed with the whale herself. That being said, pretty much everyone around the world has at least heard about the story of moby dick before, so it's not a hard sell to believe that there's something.

In the original's story, Ahab had his leg ripped out by the whale before being left for dead for 3 days and nights.
Considering that Limbus Ahab also has the wooden leg and that PM loves their religious symbolysm, it's not a hard sell tbh

I love how so many people, me included, immediately assumed we were supposed to kill OURSELVES during the final scene with Ahab. There were only two slots available when the text appeared and we were simply thinking too fast 😂
