The Cruxshadows are awesome! They deliver a great performance on stage, and involve the audience, and to top it off they are down to earth. I have had the privilege of seeing them a few times and actually meeting them at Bar Sinister! I would see them again... and I love their music.
Someone shared their Birthday Video with me and glad they did... Grew up in an era when songs had meaning and glad to see some bands still adhere to that. I am digging them.
I meant the genre Manchester from about 1988-1993. This was when bands came out like Pop Will Eat Itself, House of Love, Kitchens of Distinction, Trash Can Sinatras, Stone Roses. I guess it was for Manchester what grunge was for Seattle. It was rock with a lot of similarities to music from the Mod genre of the late 60's. However, It gave way to Brit Pop which included Oasis and such. American brit-pop fans tend to confuse the two.
I love these guys. Great dancey industrial band. I tend to be more into the experimental and metal sides of industrial music,but these guys are sooooo good! First heard them on the Neil Gaiman tribute album and been really into them since
I concur...Rogue is a very attractive young man and very charming as well..I met him and Rachael a couple years ago and though brief, they both seemed to be very sweet and "extremely" talented people.

Hahaha...and again: I will go to the concert this month in Flensburg!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I really AM going to say it again on every video´s page I am watching this evening:D:D:D Who else is coming??^^ I freaking LOVE THEM
Crux = 1. A pivotal point, 2. A cross Shadow = 1. a dark figure or image cast on the ground or some surface by a body intercepting light. 2. a hint or faint, indistinct image or idea, 3. a mere semblance 4. a dominant or pervasive threat, influence, or atmosphere, esp. one causing gloom, fear, doubt, or the like Thus I think most likely: 1. An unavoidable change (laconic approximate) 2. A hint at the idea of the cross / change 3. An atmosphere of change (in example: Darkwave and style)
I actually was more interested in Modern Rock and New Wave growing up. I would go to clubs that would incorporate a little Front 242, Wumpscut, and Nitzerebb in their playlists, but up until a few years ago I was still more of a Not-so-modern-rock and New Wave fan. Slowly but surely as New Wave and Modern Rock died I replaced it with Industrial and EBM. If interested, look into my other playlists. I have ska in there too. Older 2-Tone label stuff.
they don't seem to spend a lot on their videos but I've always liked bands like that particularly when they have their owns ideas to play with when they do make videos
HAHAHA holy shit! nice! nice! WILC that classic! I think we should get some really hardcore rivet head a really heavy cyper goth mabey a raver for safe mesures and they just list evreything well the raver gives everyone the Extasy XD
Figures ... I'm into electronic music, and this dark touch I like also, Darkwave - electronified gothic rock you say, interesting for me. As for Rogue it's clear he was born to sing, seen some live videos and i liked it. he is not bad as a poet also. Too bad i didn't hear from them sooner, and wish they had more songs.
Iam An old school goth from the Sex Gang Children and Skeletal Family era.......Love the new sound that Crux shadows have created. Any chance of them playing in Scotland?
I guess im too young. I cant even buy my own liqure not that i would waste off time to me i could buy clothing and make up SR-201 *drooling* anyways i was never in or even paied close attetion to pop i guess i always paved my own road...
Yeah, it would make definitions so much easier if we had one guy(or girl) lay down the definitions and what they include. Like what the pope is to the catholic church! Or seperate committes for Industrial or Gothic. You would go to the store and find shit with a sticker that says "WILC" on it: This album is recognised and approved by the World Industrial Labeling Committee.
Mebay thats why they have band names try labeling deathstars. See how that works out for you but in all hosuntly your right i mean i think their abiut 8 to 16 different subs Synth pop/death synth/ambient/dark eletro/eletronica/ dark electro/death eletro dark techno/industrial/intustrial rock/death industrail......."Im looking for something along a techno beat with gothic overtons" which genre a fusion of techno and goth so your looking for eletronca death fusion???
they let everyone dance on stage during marilyn always. and to beat that the owner of their label lived with my good friend for years, so ive hung out with them personally on numerous occasions.
Maybe they should get a "Hardcore rivethead-gothic-freak", play a whole shitload of artists for him, and anything he likes, we'll slap the label "Industrial" on it! Or maybe we should just put it all under the umbrella of Industrial! Hey, we will even let NIN in there, fuck it!:p
As a fan from many years ago, I think that they have forgotten us.! Traveled many miles to see them! And turned on many friends to them. I am totally disalusiuned.
so would you call this band goth? I like them, I know they're mainly industrial, and I don't like labeling but if someone says they like goth could it be possible they like Cxs?
Sometimes it depends on the song. I prefer to call them Goth/Industrial, but really the question is not the definition of Cruxshadows, but the definition of Industrial or the definition of Gothic. There are as many different opinions as there are people in this world. For example, TempGuy believes Industrial only includes Wumpscut, Hocico, Psyclon 9, Amduscia and Wumpscut. However, I would be surprised to meet a Goth who doesn't like CxS, or a rivethead for that matter.
HAHAHA!!!! Hardcore rivet head gothic freaks are hard to come by why not a cyper goth that dindles in old stuff like myself hell just get a shit lot of cyper goths and rivet heads siting around anything rivet heads like industral anthing the cyper goths like label dark electro! =D
Going into The Retrosic I would agree Industrial, but I have heard it subclassified as TerrorCore. We must remember however that all genres change a bit with time. This includes changes in technology, social issues, etc. Bands like Wumpscut and Front 242, etc. were Industrial as applied to their time. If you measure Industrial simply by harsh vocals you may as well throw Nine Inch Nails in too.
Got turned on to this group in a book where the lead character listens to Winterborn while slaying zombies - you would not believe how hard it was to find the CD here in Dallas Texas but found it I did. I can not remember the name of the book or the author though
So many sub SUB genres it's overwhelming! Coldwave New Wave Dark Wave EMB Aggrotech Industrial Industrial ROCK Industrial METAL..Deathcore DeathROCK Gothic ....SHIT!!!! Why can't it just be Gothic and Industrial?
it's been 8 years since if been to shampoo or a drac's ball. I kinda got stuck in central florida and hate it here no goth scene at all not even goths of any kind. the only thing goth around here is the fact that a bunch of ppl are wateing to die.
Maybe they should just give everything it's own category or just call it fucking VAC. If you know VAC your probably in the right place damnit! Like some guy in the record store comes up going, "I'm looking for this song; I think it's called Lysergia, I'm not sure. It's kinda dark with a whole lot of dubbed in shit from like Matrix or something and drug oriented." And the guy at the store goes, "Hmmm, let's look in the Industrial/dark electro/electronic death section and see what we can find.
today Instagram suggested me to create a rells with the song "clocks" by cold play released in 2002. so I thought... I know this intro. kkkkkk IT'S CRUELTY from Cruxshadows! release in 1999! Did Coldplay plagiarize or influence? hahahaha
there's nothing wrong with being specific. goth is a very messy genre, since clothes are more important than music when it comes to the goth label (eg there's not much likeness between sex gang children and fields of the nephilim, although they are both "goth")
eh,whatever. Still a great fucking band. I doubt you're gonna deny that.I just call them industrial because 1.never heard any darkwave before,and 2.yeah,they're not industrial in the TG or Einsturzende sense,but they're not really goth either,so I didn't know what exactly to call them. To me if it's gothy but with heavier dance beats it's a more modern form of industrial. You can thank NIN and Skinny Puppy for that misconception.
another pearl in th e collection!~ I disagree thta you can call this Darkwave. These guys blur and cross too many lines to pin down, It would be just as accurate to call the Euro High enery dance or post punk gothic syth revival or a few other stupid labels. Best to try not to pigeonhole and simply FEEL THE GROOVE!!!
Brit pops better then american pop thats for sure at lest they have Oasis Canada has Sum 41.... lets not get into American popstars..... But yes im familair with the football/soccor team Manchester united but when people sing about towns and cities it makes them seem theyve been indoors to long....
Riiiight. If you want to look like a scenester wearing pajama pants with chains. I adore Tripp's Bondage pants, but theyre more like jingly pajamas. Everything else is band tees and scenestershit.
Industrial? Baking powder? These guys are as far from industrial as you can get. They're classified as gothic rock. Go listen to The Retrosic, or WUMPSCUT, and tell me this band is industrial.
No If you want true real industrial what it started as NIN started as an industrial but the industrial scene has some many supcatergories now its horrible like the other day I was looking a Velvet acid christ CDs and It was classified as industrial/dark electro/elctronic death honustly im lost in all these different subs its geting really bad my metal head friend was talking about some grid core heavy fusion Nazi band and i just sat their thinking what the hell is going on...
Religion hating? I myself am very spiritual, I appreciate organised religion, but at times it can piss me off and I have learned to appreciate the bible and other scriptures as more of lore and human study than anything else, but the church tends to impune too much on God. I do see a God, but I think he(or she) doesn't give a fuck about what we do.
I miss this sound.
The Cruxshadows are awesome! They deliver a great performance on stage, and involve the audience, and to top it off they are down to earth. I have had the privilege of seeing them a few times and actually meeting them at Bar Sinister! I would see them again... and I love their music.

exelente grupo y una d las mejores musicas aunk mi favorita es deception y tears XD

This is probably my favorite Cruxshadows song, good stuff.
Mierda, a los años con esta canción.

Cruxshadow & Rogue are the Goth Gold Standard! Cruelty has such an artistic symbolism in the video.
I love these guys. Great dancey industrial band. I tend to be more into the experimental and metal sides of industrial music,but these guys are sooooo good! First heard them on the Neil Gaiman tribute album and been really into them since
cruxshadows kicks ass!!!
n rogue is sooo hott!!

CRUELDAD
Madre de la emoción, los ojos no pueden capturar el tiempo;
Emoción caída, los ciegos ahora guían a los ciegos;
Cometemos indiscreciones y omitamos nuestros pecados de la vista,
En un mundo de intangibles, muchas cosas parecen correctas
No hay letra para describir la enfermedad de hundimiento que he visto;
No hay cara para juzgar hasta que hayas sido el monstruo que he sido;
Al hambre es noble donde la belleza es el sueño silencioso;
Mi hambre es noble pero mi dolor es profundo
Su crueldad y consecuencia no pueden eliminar esta relevancia;
Tu egoísmo, tu odio no pueden quitar mi inmanencia;
Su crueldad y consecuencia no pueden eliminar esta relevancia;
Tu egoísmo, tu odio no pueden quitarme mi inocencia

Rogue is so hot! I Love his voice!! >:D
When Rogue hits the payphone: **distorted guitar sounds**
Kinda beside the point, but Rogue looks really awesome with that black&white/negative effect.
HAHAHA holy shit! nice! nice! WILC that classic! I think we should get some really hardcore rivet head a really heavy cyper goth mabey a raver for safe mesures and they just list evreything well the raver gives everyone the Extasy XD
@Moonloved6 Yes we must! It is awesome.

Iam An old school goth from the Sex Gang Children and Skeletal Family era.......Love the new sound that Crux shadows have created. Any chance of them playing in Scotland?

they let everyone dance on stage during marilyn always. and to beat that the owner of their label lived with my good friend for years, so ive hung out with them personally on numerous occasions.

Yes, everyone gets ecstacy at a rave and anything that they dance to will be called Trance. They will of course be the WTLC
Good stuff! I can hear a bit of Coldplay's Clocks in there. They probably listen to Cruxshadows lol
They're from Florida.
id like to see what he'd look like with his hair down!

Hmmm, video "could" have been better agreed, the song was excellent! but step off from the hair buddy...rogue's hair rocks.

They call themselves goth.
Industrial? Baking powder? These guys are as far from industrial as you can get. They're classified as gothic rock. Go listen to The Retrosic, or WUMPSCUT, and tell me this band is industrial.
I never get their videos... partly because they are so terribly done. Good music tho.
