Yes I can agree. I just got the Kss-400 cutoff saw and was very unhappy with the saw it'self. The plunge is awkward & dangerous with no spring. The depth lock is a simple cam... destined to loosen up over time, and maybe while cutting. Also, the splinter gaurd on the cutoff track is cut 1/16" short of the blade, so no zero clearance reference line. Mafell says most prefer it that way :( ??? Festool saw is wonderful. Tight precise controls. Easy safe locking plunge. But I'm going to stick with Mafell (exchange for Mt-55) over Festool. Why? Festool tracks suck. You've got to fuss & futz with a _separate straight edge_ to get them joined true. Then you better keep checking for true because they could move. Mafell tracks self align & there's no doubt they're true... even if you join 10 of them. So unless you don't need to join tracks often... better get Mafell/Bosch to avoid frustration. So I'm definitly going to miss that cutoff track. Which is why Mafell should COMBINE the Mt-55 with a cutoff track (like the one in this vid). Best of all worlds.
Not sure why you think the plunge system is dangerous on the K type saws. It isn't. I've been using it for years on mafell and Hilti saws (I've a suspicion Mafell used to build Hilti's saws. They were almost identical). They've improved it a little on the new K55/65/80 saws with the addition of a depth stop. This system allows the saw to be a true circular saws with plunge function. You can have zero clearance splinter guard on the KSS but have to buy a replacement strip to trim your own. I often wonder if some of you folks ever actually know what you're buying? Your complaints are just weird for an experienced user.
Ok, this just blew me away. The kerfing cutter for bending wood, wow.
its for drywall though, yea but its cool :)
Can you use the expanding groove cutter from the 26 on the 50
Hi, both the inner (flange) and outer diameter is too small for using it with the NFU 50.
What happened to the comments on this page? There was a whole discussion here before.
