This Ford Explorer is pretty nice, I love the sound of their V6 engines that they make. But I do find it weird how they decided a touchscreen very similar that is very similar to the Mustang Mach E in this vehicle.
The ergonomics of everything up front, from the steering wheel to instrument cluster and center stack are much better and feel better compared to the outgoing explorer, but the back seat experience hasn't changed much. I prefer the way the third row folds in the new one, instead of those seat acrobatics the old one does. The 10-speed and 6-speed are both really good but the 10-speed does a slightly better job at picking gears. Biggest complaint about the new gen is that I don't think build quality is as good as the outgoing gen.
Why can’t Ford just design the damn touchscreen inside the center stack. What an afterthought. Looks like a frikin iPad glued to the dashboard. Check out the new traverse where the screen can actually go up or down and a nice storage space behind it.
60k for this... ehh I'm a ford guy, but I just don't see this truly being worth that much money. Especially in 2-3 years time when it will be quickly outdated. I mean the second that car is driven off the lot, the value is instantly cut in half.
And thank you for stopping for the bicyclist at 4:06 I was hit by a car in March by some asshole who didn't even look both ways, or stop at their stop sign when I was riding my bicycle. Thankfully my helmet saved my life, even though I still suffered a traumatic brain injury. I could have been killed if not for the helmet.
Well used explorer STs are selling for about the same price as new, with around 10 thousand miles. Then again, most cars are expensive because of the shortage
@@Beefifty8 yes exactly. Supply and demand rules the market. Once production is back to normal, the prices of used vehicles will inevitably drop as there's more on the market.
Are you gonna talk about the reoccupation alert it’s not annoying it’s just telling you were there is somebody in the back saying you left them there just like that you never know so I wouldn’t say close it leave it on an ignore it
The dash looks like the design team found parts from the old Ford Escort and the controversial egg shaped Ford Taurus. Combined the design and said this will work. It is hideous.
Damn less than 10 minutes of drive time. That bad? It sounds like a coffee bean grinder not refined at all. For the money I would go for the Acura MDX same seating capacity and better looking and more reliable.
Ugliest dash/screen design I have ever seen. Makes me wonder how this company can operate with upper management people actually approving this design to go to production. I tried to watch it anyway despite the horrendous dash design but I couldn't finish the video. Lol.
The doors sound cheap when they close. That's deal breaker. Over all styling and interior look and feel. I give it 4.5 out 10 for the money there are better options.
Naw, nope! With Ford, I don't drive anything past 2011. This Explorer is lackluster.... That interior is HORRENDOUS! And it sounds so cheap as far as the doors and that cheap plasticky sound.
don't forget to take your iPad when leaving!
This is my dream first car right here
Who else loves that Ford Chime?
Me
Me Too
Not my dad 😂
I do

You can get it with a vertical screen
Not even close to mach e screen way worse but its not that bad this is coming for a satisfied explorer ST owner
New 2022 Ford Expedition Is Nice!!!
I enjoy the vertical touch screen. For me, it's easier and safer then glancing downward to look at a horizontal screen
Vertical touchscreens are not for me. Horizontal ones are just so much nicer
I agree, but I like this car a lot!
Pretty nice car I somehow got over the screen design now
10:26 It's the reason why go Durango but not a Ford.
Meh.
Os Carros da Ford é muito lindo . Gostei da tela de multimídia tá parecendo smartphone
Very nice video
Is it odd that despite this being a more "premium" platform with RWD, I actually find the last outgoing gen Explorer a better car overall?

That touchscreen screen design seems like it would be so distracting while driving. I suppose you could always turn it off?
0:03 start up 1:58 door open 3:37 drive 11:44 park
Are the engine sounds "piped in" or actual.
Way too noisy for my tastes but, a very nice vehicle all the same !
Nice can you do the rolls Royce cullinan

Ford doesn’t know how to make interiors unfortunately.
