Seems pretty simple and practical. I guess one could make some kind of plate over the brackets so when you're not riding with bags it would look cleaner.
Seems crazy how limited the supply appears to be for accessories, I have had alot of comments on a video about saddlebags I put on as a temporary fix while I had already been waiting 6 months at that stage for my Yamaha order. They all seemed to think that I could just go to a shop and grab any parts and accessories I wanted..... I wish!
@@LindseyExplores I tried to source them as well in Canada and Europe. At least you can see the products and have an Add to Cart on Yamaha au. Here it's like 3 items from the previous generation generic items like bike cover, engine guards, and side tank pads. A lot of people here can't even find to buy the motorcycle. I got lucky finding one in 2 months search last summer. We are the lowest in the totem pole to be supplied anything motorcycle and OEM accessories. Oh and I just got back my Monster796 after 8 months in the shop for some light repair. They claim supply shortage. The XSR saved my mental health.
@@johnm1707 I'm in New Zealand, Yamaha Australia wont sell to me, regionally locking sales areas are such a pain. It seems like the UK and Europe are having better luck than the rest of us. There are only 8 of these bikes in NZ, and none of them got to the sales floor, all ordered sight unseen months in advance. An 8 month repair! thats nuts, anyone's sanity would be questioned after that long if they didnt have another bike to ride.
@@LindseyExplores My bad, I thought you were from Australia. Yeah I hope the supply gets better. This is just ridiculous playing the waiting game. Love the content. Keep it up!
Does the bag flap around much? I got my bike and put 450km on it this weekend. Very happy with it, great motor and gearbox. The rear shock is not the greatest but I might need to stiffen it up. I put an evotech radiator guard on too and it looks nice. Thanks for all your information saved me alot of time and research.
No worries, glad to help. The legend bag has a rigid back to it and the base is leather or a look alike and is also quite rigid keeping its form, you roll the top over itself and it has 3 hooks keeping it closed. It could move in string wind but if it's rolled to the size of its contents its pretty solid.
Is that Legend bag the larger of the two that SW-Motech makes? I just ordered the smaller version Legend in all black and their side carriers - the carriers were low stock but still available to order in the States.
Hi I have ordered a black 2023 model, cant wait. Can I ask if I get the left side carrier from Alliexpress, where can I get the SW Motech bobbins. I want to get a Sysbag 10 for riding to work. Thanks for your content it eeally helped me decide this was the bike for me after I test road a mt09.
Depends where you are in the world as SW motech seem to have region locked distribution, there are distributor lists on thier website. Not a problem, glad I could help with your decision, I only started making these videos as I couldn't find hardly any info.
@@LindseyExplores thanks, I ordered some, sorry to be a pain I'm thinking of getting a left side 10litre Legend bag. You mentioned they are not so suitable for this bike, are they good quality though? I Just want something that looks a bit retro to go to work on. You've been very helpful my black XSR arrives in a couple of weeks getting excited cheers Grant
This 3 mount points rack, is it applicable for universal side bag? I honestly could not find bag that use those 3 mounts except for Yamaha and SW Motech
I have been looking for quite a while at exhausts, I really like the under slung look so that limits my choices alot. I'm likely to wait a bit longer and see how many more options come to market before buying one though, I would get an ecu done at the same time as the exhaust.
I just got my ‘23 XSR 900 and I too very much like the underslung OEM exhaust location and actually like the relatively quiet tone and sound compared to the various available aftermarket exhaust choices. With that said, the factory tuning substantially limits the bike in order to meet EU-5 standards and even with the existing exhaust, quite noticeable performance improvements can be gained from a good ECU flash. I am expecting delivery today of my flashed ECU for FlashedbyVCycleNut. He has very detailed information on his website with testing and tuning of his flashes, both with stock configuration and several different aftermarket exhausts.
2024 here and I had no problems getting SW Motech brackets and hard legend bags for my '24 XSR900,.
Seems pretty simple and practical.

I picked these up with the swmotech bobbins. It fits and locks but it is a pita to get it to come back off. The lock in really tight.
I gave up as well and bought the aliexpress model with the sw-motech bobins. Yamaha OEM accessories are hard to source and/or ship to USA.

Nice find. Do you have a link to the brackets?
Yes, there's a link to each part I used in the description. Still happy as with them.
Links seem to be broken now

Yes, it's the larger legend bag, I'm on back order again with the urban abs bags I ordered, still atleast 3 months away.

Yes, probably should have made that clearer, these as far as I know only work with the sw motech bags or the Yamaha ones.
@@LindseyExplores that's a bummer, that means I'm stucked with only 2 options. They all are fairly expensive too 😥

Hello, could you kindly share the link to the carriers as I'm unable to locate them? Thank you in advance.
links are in the description, they should work, let me know if they don't.
