- 🚀 SpaceX just dropped a surprising new deal on one of their Starlink dish, slashing prices and rolling out a budget-friendly service plan-but there’s a catch. With limited data caps, possible no pause option, and a bundle that’s not available to everyone, this offer is creating buzz for all the right-and wrong-reasons. Is this the future of portable satellite internet? Could this signal a major shift in Starlink’s pricing strategy?

The $30/mo Roam add-on package is for existing residential customers. The web site doesn't show that offer because it (the web site) is for new customers.
I hear price drop but atm I pay 30 dollars for internet and get 300mb per second that's 10 mb per dollar
what happened to the price drop to 90.00 for places where there was lots of availability for areas where there was no waiting list from the 120.00 dollar that i am now paying in Missouri? There is now no waiting list in my area but i am still paying 120.00 a month and as i understand it there are many areas of the USA that are paying 90.00 a month. @jcristina
That GIF………😂
I never knew I made so little before cell phones, computers, satellite service, cars, living, and other tech. Way too expensive for us retirees.
it's crazy and it's still way to much crazy and over prices to little data
you old tech's bought IBM's PC's that cost 20,000$ for it lol
@@AndyOO6 Well its kind of simple why ppl pay it. With out star link your ISP would be dail up if your lucky which I had for a very long time. 1kb downloads baby!. Than WISP got 2Mb's I was in heaven! now star link sometimes 200 lol but mostly 100. Mb

Price has not dropped for me yet but I don’t care. My town was hit head on by Hurricane Helene in September. The town was without power and all traditional internet providers were out of service for 9 days. 3 hours after the hurricane, I checked the roof and my Starlink satellite dish was still there. I connected my generator and had internet immediately. Elon Musk is my hero😀
I have the mini and paying $165 I used it for Overlanding, I really love it because it’s powered by 12v and the service is really great, so having connectivity in the wild or in the middle of nowhere is an added security aside from the steel that you carry.
Mine was 99.00 then 110 then now 120.00. Be glad once it does go back down😊
Same for me still wating for it to go back down
Just purchased the residential unit and service here in Arizona . $249 for dish (limited time purchase) and $120 a month for service. Would really like to see a price drop in service for Veterans and Retired people.
🛰 🚀 🇺🇸🛰 🚀 🇺🇸🛰 🚀 🇺🇸🛰 🚀 🇺🇸 WOW!!!!!!
I bought the Mini and it’s affixed to the inside roof of my CyberTruck via 3D printed mount and suction cups. I cannot tell you how incredibly useful this is for me. I own a tech company and I’m constantly driving from Florida to other states and needless to say Internet is spotty at best. This is a lifesaver as my business is 60% virtual paperwork for contracts and research. Now I can take longer trips to remote locations and just enjoy the natural beauty of this country.
I am in San Diego and bought the Roam Standard for $249 in October and the Mini for $449 (November). Stoked to get them both on sale. I bought the Standard directly from Starlink but got the Mini from Best Buy. Anyone trying to buy direct from Starlink in SoCal currently is getting waitlisted due to max capacity (like you were saying). Thankful to have added this to my emergency preparations. It wasn't cheap but I look at it as an investment. It'll double as a comms solution for camping/overlanding as well. New sub, thank you for the great content!
I’m a full-time traveler who recently switched from years of using a Verizon MiFi device. Two months ago, I took possession of my Star Link 3rd generation (roaming), and it works as advertised at $165.00.
This product will force the Verizon & ATT companies to offer discounts for their MiFi devices to become an internet price war in 2025
We have both mini and residential. Mini for camping/RV'ing and residential for home. And yea, we have to turn on service off and activate the other...not a big deal but a single plan where you can toggle between residential and mini would be very cool. We use the unlimited roaming plan for the mini since I work while on the road.
🛰 🚀 🇺🇸
FYI Starlink in Australia has reduced its pricing for both Starlink and plans Starlink Mini only $299 AUD ($191.21 USD) and $80 AUD ($51 USD) per month for the 50 GB plan
Thanks!
🛰 🚀 🇺🇸 Thank you so much for your kindness and support!! 🛰 🚀 🇺🇸🛰 🚀 🇺🇸🛰 🚀 🇺🇸🛰 🚀 🇺🇸
I would love to get Starlink In central Florida but the Residential plan is still $120 a month ? It’s still to much for a Senior on a budget ! I believe Seniors should get a discount that some companies provide
I'm a senior too, I always wonder why seniors think they are entitled to discounts?
I setup a starlink mini for my dad that the owners of where he works gave him.
I was super excited to test it and get it working well. Little did I know it was on the 50GB plan, and I ended up using up the ENTIRE FIFTY GIGS IN TWO HOURS!! Because I was doing so many speed tests and uploading pictures and videos from the trip, hahaha
You have done a great job on all you do .thanks alot
Thanks so much!!! Blessings!
Starlink Mini hardware now US$186, and Roam 50 GB plan is US$50 monthly here in Asunción Paraguay, South America. Greetings. PD: I'm a new subscriber since today.
This is perfect for people who travel on the road. Too bad monthly price doesn’t come down for majority of subscribers. Thanks for sharing the video.
Agree.
This is Terrible for people who travel, it's literally useless. Streaming a 4k movie uses roughly 10 gigabytes per hour...
I know the goal of Starlink is to bring Internet to people who can't get broadband, but it's people like me who travel constantly and NEED unlimited data who would make up the majority of Starlink customers... Assuming it fit our needs.
I go through 250 gigs of phone data per month and I'm not even considered a heavy user. My sister uses over 3 terabytes of data for her job.
@@tr-lj2vx I use 13Gb per month, wife uses less than 5 on our phones.
Guess we have other things to do
@@tr-lj2vx - while I agree and understand what you’re saying, unless you’re lugging around a 32”+ screen with you, there’s absolutely no reason to be streaming 4k imo to phones, tablets, laptops, etc. it’s a total waste of bandwidth if you’re being metered.
@@mr2ti41 I'm one of those van life people, I work online, stream TV and play games. I need unlimited data ! Right now I use my phone data, in a way that is highly frowned upon by the phone carriers. But myself and countless people would throw their money at Elon and Starlink or a truly portable and unlimited Internet connection... Far more than all the rural customers combined.
Live in the PNW. Got Starlink 1 1/2 years ago. Offered the mini dish for $30/mo and decided to get it for my RV. I was surprised by this offer, hearing there is a waiting list in this area.
Great information video thank you
Just ordered the mini in Canada! Just happy it’s available now.
I have the mini. I use it for work and run it off of an Anker Solix C200. Absolutely love this thing! Worth every penny!
Having two dishes and only one account would not work for me because I have cameras and sensors that keep working when I’m away.
I have been using the mini in Subaru for $30/mth with my home plan version 2 from the start. Use it while driving in US and Canada often. Works great in both countries.
I have a Gen2 we used for camping and now a Mini. I'm torn because I love the Gen2 but the Mini is incredible. I leave it in my backpack all the time.
Oh My God. finally i travelled to get my own stralink kit. after long following your videos and watching many having this kit. now i have it too. thanks to your channel
Do any of the starlink parts you receive for service have any cameras, listening devices, or other invasive features?
Nope
That's amazon and google
I purchased the mini bundled last week and activated it yesterday. needing to replace a cell phone, trying to find out pricing for the T-Mobile DTC plan. I use it mainly for wifi calling as cell reception is extremely poor where I live.
If you have the bundled and paying $30 a month, if you pause it, when you reactivate it, it will go to $50 (or the current pricing for normal subscription). That is the risk you pay. You can pause, but you lose the lower monthly rate.
It was drawing only 36-37 watts. However, the minimum supply required is 100w. I think that is to ensure a constant power source for the mini, and especially if you need to heat the dish. I had it plugged into my car's 12V system.
You will need to buy the cable that allows you to plug into a USB-C connection. It was a little shy of $35 from StarLink.
I received an offer of AU$299 For the kit & $50 per month. (Australia)
CANADA 🇨🇦 just got the mini’s Tuesday! Scooped one up 399$cdn waiting for the bundle package with residential before I fully light it up
So awesome. Congrats. Great unit.
Love your videos.
NW Washington State.
Our monthly residential costs have been $120/month since May 2023.
Next payment for December 2024 is the same.
Todays speed test: downloads:169Mbps, uploads:23, latency:23
Location: Montana. Local phone company charged $0.30 / GB for internet resulting in some of our monthly bills being over $450/month - ouch! So we switched to Starlink and paid $90/month - that saved the $600 the Starlink equipment cost in just a few months. Plus, I wrote to my local phone company and told them why. 2 years later (how responsive of them) the phone company capped their maximum Internet cost to $80. So Starlink is having an positive benefit even for those not using it.
N/E Idaho and it was a game changer..6mps to avg 190.. Its been great for 2years...
great video! Ive been considering purchasing a Starlink
Hi I live in South Australia and Starlink offered me 50gig roaming deal for $50 per month and the Mini dish for $299 Australian $
I have taken them up for the deal and should see the mini in the mail on Monday.
I’m already a Starlink customer for the past 2yrs or so. Paying $140/ month soon $190/ month with both services.
I definitely injoy informative channel.
Cheers Neil.
Living in mountains, internet access has always been a problem. Recently cell tower access has improved and cellular home internet is now available for only $35 a month. Starlink is looking more and more attractive.
Great Idea!
🛰 🚀 🇺🇸
I am in BC Canada just bought yesterday, mini is $399CA.. &$50.
Consider the value of the Canadian dollar.
I love my mini and I use an USB-C to the dc in to bypass the use of the AC plug, I’ve noticed this setup is much more efficient.
Thanks !!!! And I’m praying you’re right about it getting better. The high speed has been excellent but not the increase in price! Appreciate your podcast! Mickey
where do you find how many gigs you are using?
You can pause the mini plan o can share screen shots as I have my mini bundle paused also since the mini came out alot of people were all rdy only paying 30 a month
Do you need the Starlink mini to use the unlimited Roam service or can you use the standard?
No.. You can use one of of of the other dish but the mini gives you the added functionality of battery power (MADE EASY)
Thanks @@jcristina
Not dropping the price for residential service with a regular size dish are they... Oh well. Best service I can get in the middle of nowhere.
🛰 🚀 🇺🇸 I hope they do soon 🛰 🚀 🇺🇸
It'll probably start dropping once Starship is launching the new satelites.
They'll be serving more customers with cheaper launches.
I had the v2 since August of 22 on my house and worked great, then when they lowered the v3 price I purchased that and installed the v3 on the house and moved the v2 to a roam plan @$150m to my rv and that was a great addition to the rv experience no more internet issues and it is paused when not in use.
I had thought about changing the v2 on the rv to a mini but the v2 works just fine and hard to justify the cost of the hardware at lower speeds imho.
The mini is a nice option if you want the battery feature.
The reason the flip service would not work for most users it that all cameras/ring service/other smart home functionality would cease to work in your home while you were out roaming.
mini kit is ideal for campers and pensioners love their campers. In Europe i noticed today that there was 25 euros monthly and the mini dish is 322 euros. They call it the starlink mini studio
Just bought the standard kit. Paid $358 for the kit and $50 for the monthly service. Initial speed test shows between 180-250Mbps. Located in the southern part of Norway.
gen 3 res 120.00 a mth 399.00 for hardware looking forward to 55.00 a mth for res plan
I've got a Gen 3 dish, which I modified a mount to replace the TV antenna on my RV (yes, you can raise, lower, and rotate it from inside the RV - when lowered and locked for travel it works in motion)... Plus, when parked next to the house I've got a range extender to cover the house... We expect to cancel our cable Internet soon, since Starlink actually has lower latency (for phone calls) and reliability (even in snow storms!).
Darn! The residential monthly price didn’t come down. If it ever does come down to where I can afford it I’ll get. Great channel, JC.
🛰 🚀 🇺🇸 Sadly.. Thanks for being here!
I need that mini for trips with the kids and to be safe.
Great idea on the mini switch to roaming.
Price drop is great and the floods here in NC shows just how useful it is. I’m in a city though and for ME the speeds are the problem.
I was in the early Mini offer back in July for $599, but my monthly service has always been $28.95 for the Mini (added to my Starlink account with my regular starlink dish).
I bought the mini for our RV travels. Works so good we cut the cord and use our mini for home and travel.
That's a great idea!
Info starts at 3:05
Awesome Plan, Mini on my Jeep Gladiator!
Two dishes on one roaming plan would be perfect. We leave our starlink in a remote location and need roaming as we sometimes use it on a boat. It's probably only used for 90 days a year, so it would be great to be able to use a second mini dish at other times.
I have the GEN 2 the GEN 3 and I ordered the mini last week. I’ll let you know how it fares compared to the others. I work in construction areas with no cell service or internet that’s why I got it
3 ... WOW!!! 🛰 🚀 🇺🇸
@ update the plane includes on water and in motion tried it out while driving through the smoky mountains bad coverage still getting around 50 down 20 MS and 11 upload on average with a bunch of trees in the way while moving
I am receiving my Gen 3 today . I paid $249 for the standard 3. I plan on using it in the Roam mode in my motorhome.
I gave them the feedback when I got the Mini a long time ago when invited with the similar plan of what is being offered right now... the Mini 50GB plan for $30 is attached. It makes your Residential Plan $150 a month. The issue I have is the 50GB getting used up. I suggested that the Residential & the Mini Roam plan SHARE the capped overall data priority cap. So, if BOTH go over, the residential will loose priority & the Mini will be restricted. Otherwise, the Mini will be regular roam and the Residential will be regular... if that makes sense. I may go weeks without using my Mini then heavily use it a week or so at a time.
Northeast Indiana residential 299.00 and 120.00 per month since September no problem at all.
What are your upload and download speeds with Star Link?
\
190-250 down and 15-25 upload with 25-30ms latency
Hey JCristina, Question. Do you think Starlink just start restricting Residential service to only those who dont have a better option? I know several people who have gotten Starlink because they are just tiered of dealing with other providers and are not concerned with getting 1gb service.
Doubtful.. I will be watching and reporting back of course!!!
I am using a starlink mini dish as my daily driver.
I have been using it for 3 months and have no problems.
Sweet!
In WY. 90.00 per month gen 3 residential 300-440 Mbps on average. Really happy so far. 349.00. For the price of these i think they should allow the customer to add 1 of whatever mount meets their needs instead of the ridiculous kick stand
sweet
I get a kick out of how it would be cheaper to get 3 of these new plan bundles to cover my monthly data needs versus just giving me an unlimited plan at like $75/mo on one dish.
i 🚀 preparing for a year on the road in my Model Y. nice timing.
I'd get residential, but if we are forced to evacuate it won't work. I'd like to see the Residential have an option, when the network sees the dish is relocated, you would automatically switch to ROAM. You would pay the $50 for the entire month. $170 is not a big deal during an emergency.
🛰 🚀 🇺🇸 $165 is high but not it's international wish is interesting.. You can take it anywhere on the planet that the government allows.
I had this idea about 2 dishes on one account a couple months ago and contacted Starlink about this. They told me each dish has to have its own account. So now I have a standard dish and a mini. Doesn't make sense, but here we are. I have use for both but def didn't want to pay for 2 accounts. So now I will pause my standard when not in use.
If they Go Public I plan to invest in Starlink
Since I'm a content creator on RUclips living out in the country near no one, Starlink is the only way I can upload 3 videos a week and livestream once a week. I purchased their business plan which is $250 a month but gives me priority connection during congested peak hours. I love it. It's very fast and never goes out.
Are there really any congestion times?
I live remotely and I camp a lot and I don’t want to pay for 2 Starlinks so the mini unlimited is the answer. Easy to understand. I have both a gen three and a mini. trying to determine best approach for subscriptions
I've been looking forward to getting starlink but when I came down to get it it was $580 bucks to buy the hardware and 140 a month.. so using my phone for a hotspot and I got an additional hotspot on my cell service and it works out to be way less than a hundred bucks a month.. and no purchase of any hardware
Well dang it, I didn’t get that particular email. Ah, but I’m on the grandfathered residential with roam already. 😊 I just want a cheaper Mini period, but I’m reluctant to pay more for less dish.😢
I live in a built rig - I use my v3 and mini for work every single day… I’d have to argue there is a use case outside of the live in a box or building in the same spot everyday like everyone else
Personally, I wish they would implement a per GB plan for residential use so I could use Starlink as a backup to my primary ISP.
In Australia starlink just dropped the price of the Mini dish from the already discounted to $599 to $299 AUD
I wouldn’t want to switch my service to the mini dish while away as I need to stay connected at ‘base camp’ to access my systems. I have relatives out in the sticks so this will be great to stay connected. 50GB allowance is ample for a week away it’s not like I’d be doing a 12GB MacOS update while away or watching loads of 4K movies that would be a bit anti-social :-)
That makes sense for sure... Two plans would work for your needs! 🛰 🚀 🇺🇸
Cave Spring, GA
As of Dec 2024, our Starlink monthly usage bill is $120
Penrose Colorado 165 a month love it, just pricey

I had no idea they capped the data to 50 GB. I use 30 GB or more per day. T-Mobile offers cell internet for $50 per month with unlimited data with no caps.
i like the mini - i use it on the road one -two time per month- i dont use all the 50gig. i also have the residential - i pay 120 for that and 30 for the mini for a total of 150 for both dishes

is there a price drop for Europe ?
🛰 🚀 I believe the prices are getting closer oversea before here in the US
This reminds me of the early days of cell service where because we’re ridiculously high they charge $.10 per minute or whatever was a monthly fee to have your phone and now you can get unlimited everything for $50 a month so let’s hope sterling prices keep dropping
I just saw Starlink equipment for sale at Walmart last night.
have you logged into on ONSAT Canada is getting into it?
Standard dish-satisfied customer.
I would love your plan, to be able to have two dishes and switch the residential service between them, even with a 50GB limit on mobile.
I WOULD get the mini with the new pricing IF you could pause the mobile service.
But I am REALLY getting a bit peeved that slowly over time my regular roaming plan JUST KEEPS GOING UP AND UP!!! $95 to $110 to $120 to $135... now it's all the way up to $165!
I can't even imagine what this will look like with SpaceX popping out 100 V3's ATA TIME one a reusable rocket system!! With multiple towers they can literally launch them into space faster than they can make them!
I've had my mini on the 50gig plan for 1.5 months and I've always had the option to pause. Never used it though.
I got a travel case for my star link standard and I love it. It’s nylon waterproof. I still think I’m gonna get the hard shell from SpaceX so at some point for traveling I want to airplane before right now. I think we’re good.
Great idea!
I have a mini and a one and a two, haven't hooked up the mini yet, waiting to go camping.
Off grid in Arizona in the winter. Northern British Columbia in the summer
i own the business dish now i have brought the mini to go climb some mountains on dish $329 Aussie dollars and the unlimited plan
Thanks for the heads up. I did find I was invited and decided to add the mini to my plan. Did not even see this e-mail.
$249 for residential standard hardware. However, there’s a waitlist for subscription due to saturation
