Lol all these people have better ideas😂 yet they are too lazy to put ideas on RUclips 🥴 lol we didn’t care how it looked anyway, it was a test on an old step. I ordered new ones anyway. Who cares😂
Works with Coke as well. But 0000 Steel Wool is king for cleaning chrome. Not all chrome is created equal and the foil can leave fine scratches. Drip the wool in water, use a microfiber towel after and it’s perfectly detailed.
SOS works well but this works better and I was told that the chemical reaction between the vinegar and metals actaully etches the chrome to prevent rust from returning. And the foil does not leave scratches at all.
On chromed steel I use Brillo pads if it's a good quality chrome it doesn't scratch the finish and it takes the surface rust off fast I use it on my Harley
@@LambvinskisGarage they sure beat up on you on this one. I thought was interesting and sure there's a dozen different ways to go about it. But the algorithms have to love it when you get so many response because well it's the algorithms.
That works well on paint, but will scratch the chrome, I haven't had this method scratch any yet, this is also just to break the heavy stuff off. I hit it again later with some polish and it looks great.
I just did this thinking just maybe it’ll work it did pretty well,I will say for chrome but it will put scratches in paint I also put dawn soap on the aluminum foil.
It does work well! The morons who say it looks the same or puts more scratches in don't know what they're talking about. For paint I use 0000 Steel wool and go lightly, it works well too!
@@LambvinskisGarage the reason it works is the rust and iron oxide shreds little miniscule pieces of aluminum turning it into basically a slurry of very fine aluminum oxide and Iron oxide (the abrasive ingredients in sandpaper) thus making a fine abrasive polishing compound slurry which is harder than and in turn polishes the chrome... no acid needed
Very important is letting your rag fall down. If you don't let your rag fall down, you're gonna have a bad time. All jokes aside, I forgot about the apple cider vinegar with aluminum foil trick
You don’t need the cider. Any lubricant even soap and water or just water will work. I’ve done it so many times from my truck to a bicycle it works perfectly

Not everyone makes videos, but plenty of ways to skin a cat. His way works, others do too.
Shut up kid, its not we its "you"
I made an entire video on removing corrosion from chrome. I will be making further videos getting it even more polished without removing the chrome.
Anyone feel that in their teeth when he runs foil across the chrome?
Is aluminum not softer than that??
@@rtd6840 it’s just the sound it makes when you run the foil over the metal 😂

That scratched the shite out of it when I did that. Never again. Gotta find a different method
Still look like shit to me🤣

That works well, so does this and steel wool!
Finish with a petroleum jelly polish for a lasting finish ❤️👍🇦🇺my tip for the week
How about industrial chrome cleaner no foil or vinegar
That would probably work too! But this is cheap and easy haha.
@@LambvinskisGarage they sure beat up on you on this one. I thought was interesting and sure there's a dozen different ways to go about it. But the algorithms have to love it when you get so many response because well it's the algorithms.
Best thing to use is SOS pads warm water takes off surface rust won't scratch chrome

I remember using Naval Jelly when I was young
I don't care what you do to chrome , once it rusts through it's never the same !
Well duh, but we can still clean it up and make it look better than it did with the rust all over it.
Is it important to drop the rag?
Yes, it helps with the cleaning process
@@LambvinskisGarage Duly noted.
Thanks
@@padstowphantom hey anytime. Glad to help 🤣
Remember it's important to just let it float.
So that's what brand new looks like, I've always wondered
😂

This the guy that you don’t cheat on a test with 😂
If it works it works 🤷♂️
Old School trick, WORKS!
All you need is aluminum foil and water that’s it nothing else
Does it work for overspray paint is what i want to know
Steel wool
I use mystery marble oil.
scratch the crome
You can Just Use a Sand Paper x 1000
How can get rid of spray paint
I've used water and Scotch Brite pads to take spray paint off! It takes a ton of elbow grease though.
You dont need the vinegar...it does the same thing with just water and the acid doesn't eat the base metal....
Interesting! I'm just showing what the old guys taught me, It sure does shine up motorcycle wheels!
Mabe you should have wrapped it with thin foil 🤔
An SOS pad will do the same thing
Lol there is no chrome in that recess area it's just nickel.
It work very good.
How about a 0000 steel wool that doesn't scratch even glass and wd40. Works 1000000 better than that method that still leaves rust and no shine
Yea because brand new chrome, has pits all over, in it.
Boy some of you really don't get it do you 🤣
I just use fine steel wool and glass cleaner.
Glass cleaner works good too huh? I used 0000 steel wool and wd40, it works great.
@@LambvinskisGarage I will have to try that. Thanks
The stuff in the gold can
Blew me off
It looks the same as it did
Just buy an SOS pad
I just use chrome cleaner.
Yeah, it didn’t even work use steel wool or just re-chrome the part
And you wonder why your chrome is rusting
It was rusty before we got it, it's cleaned up now, what I did won't make it rust any worse than it already has 🤷♂️
Where is this brand new look????????????????????????????
Still looks rusty to me.
Maybe you should get your eyes checked then.
Omg you could of used ajax and a scrubber 🤣😂
I didnt have Ajax and a scrubber lol. But I did have what I had 🤣
I always use coke and tinfoil
I bet that works good too!
@@LambvinskisGarage it sure does.. to each man his own
Terrible....a microfiber cloth would of did same
Wrong.
Ummm
Fail
No difference 😭😢😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
And many scratches 😱🤮
Sos
WTF?
Steel whool dummy
Did I have steel wool for this short? No. Did I make another one using steel wood? Yes. Dummy.
Stop
No you.
No you.
Haaa It still looks like crap!!
Looks the same 😂😂😂
an old girlfriend knew just how to take the chrome off 🙃
Mmmm
😂😂😂....🤔....🤷
Old girlfriend?😮
You got her number?
Who's trying to take Chrome off? D-A
What happened to the brand new part 🤣
Ya gotta hit it with some polish too 🤣 but this gets the heavier stuff off first haha.
Rust off, scratches on!!
Lol polish it
Good as used.
Doesn’t look any better
Just looks wet😂
Looks pitted were the rust was.
"brand new"
😂
*Scratches has joined the chat*
Steel wool works good but if you want mirror finish even on regular metal trust me start with 320 wey sand up to 3000 it will be like new
You're absolutely right! This is just quick and easy, especially if it's not a terribly important part!
I've seen truck drivers use Turtle Wax and a buffing rag
Mother chrome polish 💅😊
Is the following rag falling important part of the process or can I skip that part.
Its a very important step, be sure to include it or you'll kick yourself later.
Yes it is imperative you follow the rag. Crucial in fact.
The obsession with apple cider vinegar is hilarious. It's this generation's version of snake oil.
That's not brand new, he sounds like a misleading salesman
Steel wool is better!!!!! 😂
It is! We covered that in another short 😏
I'm off grid I use Apple Cider Vinegar on my hands a New Mason jar was in the sink under my hands the Mason jar lid rusted real bad!!!
Supposed to be good for digestion
First time I've seen it
Pretty cool huh!
@@LambvinskisGarage mite try it on rusty steel an see what happens
0000 if you know, you know.
Yet I still see all the rust pitting
Aluminium foil doesn’t damage your chrome.
Shows all little scratches 🤦🏽♂️
It doesn't. The chrome was already scratched BEFORE I did this.
Well, I can say it's not brand new
You sure there’s no scratches made by aluminum foil because I’m pretty sure that’s like 600 grid sandpaper
I've used it a few times and haven't had it scratch. The scratches on this step are from someone else and not me.
0000 steel wool and soapy water
That works as well!
Try Coca-Cola and aluminum foil
Chrome polish does a better job
off to the platers now mr s wonder
Steel wool would be better and basically the same but without the scratches😵💫
There are not scratches with aluminum foil as long as you keep it wet.
Anything else what’s new
Right .spend 5 dollars and buy some fine steel wool and then you can clean your chrome ..
I already had this though, and it works so 🤷♂️
Sjit how about a clay bar and some dawn, holy fucking scracthes
The scratches were NOT from me, they were already one this step before he got the truck. Someone else did that.
0000 steel wool works too.
And steel wool pad done
Not satisfactory
Use wheel acid
Coke cola
Use coke
It s Aluminium. Not Aluminum.
@erikdikkers7931 if I was in Britain, you'd be right, but thankfully, I'm not.
Swindler
Really
Atf wiped on chrome let sit five minutes then wipe off
I haven't heard that one before.
Thanks
I feel like I just chewed on foil . Aahhh
Delicious isn't it?
#72 method to scratch up chrome
It doesn't, I use it a lot, but whatever ya wanna believe!
SOS pads. The Soapy kind.
I tried that in another short! It didn't work as good as the other methods mentioned.
It will be back the next day
Wrong. Still hasn't came back. Hit it with polish after this and it's been fine.
Crome polish looks better
Yes, but this breaks up the heavier stuff first, you need to polish it afterwards too.
Cheap chrome rusts
Lol you don't know what you're talking about
