I have to agree with you some that already throw NOS in them and just doing doughnuts in a parking lot is just a waste.
I’m so tired of seeing 1000hp+ cars on freeway “racing” for 5-10 secs. Talking about how good that “race “ was, even though this is a track day, this kind of high performance driving is closer to racing than any roll race could hope to be.

That Ferrari guy needs to learn the rules of letting faster cars go by. I assume that is why you went off the track so you could push the car more, rather than wait on that Ferrari guy.

Absolutely pathetic. When a car continues to stay on your rear end, that means he's faster than you....let him by. This isn't a race, it's a track day. Sad thing is, he likely never heard a word about it from any of the organizers. They are so reticent to talk to people about that kind of stuff unless it's blatantly obvious or they have an armful of complaints.
The guy in the Ferrari had terrible lines and was blocking like he was racing for money of course the Ferrari is gonna hold its own on the straight but he was getting eaten up on braking and cornering sure speed could have forced the issue but the way that guy in the Ferrari was driving he did the right thing and pulled off to disconnect from that moron. Some people can’t let their bias go and just appreciate a good car on the track no matter the brand sad but that’s life.

J. Wesley Stevenson a lot of them are just testing their cars or getting in some practice laps because of inexperience. A well season track driver won’t let the corvette get close to it.

No where near the full potential. Needs to work on throttle application, entering and exiting corners, I see lots of braking in the apexes, etc. I assume this was just a fun day and was an amateur driver.
I would rather see people on the track staying safe and out of the way instead of driving above their abilities and spraying the track with debri making it unsafe. Also not everyone has the same amount of experience or skillset. At least they're on a track not wiping out a crowd at a car show.
I liked the guy in the Beamer with his arm dangling outside the window like it was a Sunday in the park with George.

The C8 has such a high-performance limit, it felt like he wasn't even pushing that hard and seemed to easily gain on the Ferrari. Well done Chevrolet!
I drove the C8 at Laguna and its really great for the price but there's some suspension and chassis issues. This is what sets it apart from the higher up cars. Could easily take off a ton of time without even adding to the engine. But as of right now its lacking in a lot of departments (but still good for a $80k car).
@@Gongolongo Yeah GM did great with a platform that's really out of their comfort zone. Hopefully they get some feedback and really put together what has the potential to be a landmark generation.

It will be worth the wait. I have a C7 Z06, and have driven the C8 on track, I’m waiting. I track often, and the base C8 will not come close to my current car. Let them fix all the nitty stuff, get a better engine in it, and you’ll have something very special compared to the base model.
@@user-my8nn4hh1k That C7 Z06 he passed was pushing hard and not up to the C8 in the corners. You can see him locking the brakes entering one corner and sliding in another. It could have just been the drivers lack of experience though.
@@mustang43058 I agree, that C7's rear end was getting loose on those corners. As his previous video with the GT, the C8 is balanced well for the corners and once the Z06 comes out with more horses for the straights.......whoa momma.

@@MoeTheBuilder Driving is about balancing a chassis through a series of points at 2-4% of slip at the tire, AKA "the limit". He drives quite well.
He isn't bad, but for him to put a dual-clutch transmission into complete auto made, and not even use the paddles, shows me he definitely lacks a lot of skill still.
Well, I now have a new favorite car, new favorite driver, and a new favorite RUclips channel. I could watch this stuff all day! Go Get'em.

You know what I love about your videos? 95% of the camera is on the car or the driving. With modern day "reviewers" or "vloggers" they can't show you the wheels of the car without squatting in front of them. It is all about them and not the car or what ever is the hook to get the click. Anyway keep doing what your doing! Great content. Oh and anyone that down votes your videos has a empty soul. Just saying.

I agree, it's nice to see someone out there really driving it hard. I would assume we will see more of this kinda content with C8 owners.
A Ferrari, Lamborghini, or pretty much any exotic car is very expensive to service or repair and driving them hard drastically increases those costs and hassles. If you don't live in a major city, then you can add on the hassle and expense of shipping said exotic car to a dealer for a $20,000 repair. Not to mention, most people with a Ferrari or Lamborghini don't want to put to many miles on them or have to many repairs in the service history.
Of course there are exceptions but most exotic owners rarely go out and do what their car was designed to do. How often do you see a Ferrari with 100,000 miles on it? I find that amusing and sad at the same time.
The C8 is going to be reliable, easy to service and affordable enough for people to take them out and really drive them. That's a beautiful thing.

@@MM_45 That was a different 600lt and not the 720s. The 720s has internal nonvisible side air intake vents and unmistakable headlights.

I believe somewhere I read that GM bought a Ferrari 458 to use it as a base to design the C8 Corvette

Enjoyed every minute of it. Seems like the curves were bottlenecks in as much as the other cars could not quite equal your speed through them.
Great observation. The reason is driver skill not the car capability. The vette driver was much more experienced than pretty much everyone on the track in this video and corners are where skill shows.
Most people do not understand how to drive thru an Apex. Always accelerate through the turn.
@@BlueDuck211 I've always been curious about this. What do you mean by "always accelerate through the turn"? I would have thought the quickest way through a corner would be to brake as late as possible until juuuuussst before the apex, then hit the accelerator as you're coming through the apex and stay pedal to the metal on the exit. Is that basically the same as what you mean by acceleratiung through the turn, or am I missing some of the finer details?

Great track day. Seeing Porsche's and Ferrari's give way to a C8 shows how much respect it has gained, IMO.
It just means slower drivers need to get the hell out of the way. That McLaren, especially, is a much faster car than the C8.

Your "Racing Line" is much better than the others! Tell me though, this car must actually inspire confidence with its handling and braking? In any event, I think you just keep getting better. If you ever decide to do Mosport in Ontario Canada, I'd be happy to meet up with you. Mosport is one of North Americas' toughest tracks ( its in the Top 10 ). As a guy who has a race prepared Boss 302 ( and former Ford exec ), once said in a review of it, "You better put on your Big Boy Pants for this course!". Elevation changes as well as off camber corners, and with Moss Corner and Mario Andretti starightaway this course is sure to please!! Keep up the great track videos!! Luv them!!
