On the Idea of In Season only. Sorare should have at least some interest in allowing classic cards playable year over year. Otherwise, from a psychological point, the exit for users is much easier. If classic cards have some value and can be mixed with in season, im much more inclined to buy new season cards. If they are just worthless, users might just leave the platform after a season. How big of a reason that is, others should decide.
Idea for Classic moving forward: What if you could only use classic cards from the last say 2/3 seasons in classic competitions. Anything older you cannot use in classic. As for the older cards, they could do one of two things if not both. The first idea is a trade in system - you can trade in a card that’s two years or older when you trade in you get a box for essence/in season cards. (Limited to 10 per week or something similar) Second idea is that they run say like a monthly special competition where you can only use cards that are two years or older. If you implemented both, this way managers who wish to cash in now for in season cards/ essence get that straightaway. Or those that wish to keep their collections can still use them every so often in the specials. There would in theory be less cards in circulation due to the trade in system and therefore should remain competitive.
@@soraredatashow yeah! It would give people an incentive for ‘burning’ cards. So they aren’t worth completely nothing. This would reduce the amount of cards in the pool, and also make collection bonuses more valuable. Essentially it gives the option to players. Do they want to continue with classic cards now there’s less cards available. Or do they want to focus on in season by burning old cards for essence/boxes
On the Van Dijk vs Romero conversation. I don't understand at all why Van Dijk would be cheaper or the less favoured choice here. Romero averages so high due to absolutely smashing for Argentina. Van Dijk is the better player for their clubs. He averaged about 5 points more over the last year for Liverpool than Romero did for Spurs. Van Dijk had more net decisives (same positives but Romero has 4 negative decisives). Van Dijk hits 90+ at a higher rate. Van Dijk hits 80+ at a higher rate. Romero is more likely to score super low too. Looking forward based on the first few games of the season, Liverpool look great and the defence has been very good, Spurs look very similar defensively, so Van Dijk is probably more likely to keep a clean sheet going forward. Last season in the Prem, Van Dijk had 0.12 expect goal involvements per 90 and Romero had 0.13 so they're almost identical on attacking threat too. I get that international utility should be part of the decision but probably a small part of it. Romero is definitely better internationally. We very rarely make decisions based on international utility, it's mostly done off club utility as that's most of the games they'll play. Van Dijk seems like the better card to me. FWIW, I have both. Go buy both. They're both great cards
The game right now is perfect they don't really have to change anything. They need to find a way to find value for classic cards 100% no one wants to throw money down the drain more underdog events would be good maybe threshold game for essence.
The content creator trying to prepare the minds as usual of what Sorare is preparing to do. Like that would work. If they go ahead and do this and will not give classic decent utility going forward the platform dies. Its that simple. I also think they will have problem with the regulators. It would look more and more like gambling on a platform you cant trust a word that comes out of their mouths. I wouldnt have bought one card from them if this was their sales pitch initially. The whole point of their strategy was own your cards through a player career. They got huge amount of money on this narrative. If they change this it is fraudulent and can probably expect legal action. Sounds like a rug pull
Let's see how enthusiastic these "influencers" remain when their views start dropping because nobody cares anymore. Nobody needs EA sports 0.1. Imagine them creating different types of essence which would even take longer to get enough from the same essence to get a card. Terrible idea again

100% agree. I remember Laird and his boss from Sorare Data bringing this up last year. It was a horrible idea then, and it still is now. I would be devastated if Sorare made this change. I would never trust them again and never put another dime into the platform. I really hope this isn't the direction Sorare is trying to go. The creators seem to be in their own bubble, I really wish the they would stop bringing this idea up like it's a reasonable option. It's a slap in the face to a ton of Sorare users.

Its very suspicious when these content creators are doing what they can to create a narrative that will make their own cards useless and worthless. Then pretend they are actually genuine and all they want is Sorares well being. "I dont care about my own money, all I care for is that Sorare is making money instead". Multiple times now Ive seen you cry about creators opinions on these pods/videos. If you think it insults your intelligence, then why listen to it over and over again? Just pointing fingers towards a certain group to cope with your gripes against sorare is really pathetic. Get on with it, come up with your own solutions then if you think you have what it takes to keep sorare profitable and see prices going up in classic and in-season. Always easy to just criticise what others are suggesting 👍

The jackpot idea for boxes is great because I love opening boxes but it does miss that excitement factor that you get with crafting.
One leads to the other though, no?
@soraredatashow can't argue with that 😂 I mean more so for the low tier boxes, knowing you can get 3 essence max, I guess takes out the excitement.
The perfect setup for a RTG would be u 3 all doing it and having a weekly hour pod bouncing ideas off each other
Great podcast guys
Thanks so much for watching!

I think a lot of people put value into the fact that Romero is much younger, and there were apparently Saudi rumours for VvD.
