nancegrl33 We appreciate the kind words for Otis. This was one we had in the queue for some time. We wanted to make sure we had Mr. Sindelar's permission; we were thrilled to finally get it.
Yes! This is one of the first and favorite creepypastas that I've heard. An epic hour reading indeed. There's something that I love about the long ones. Thank you again, Otis! Your are just incapable to disappoint!
I think I have about 500-something different stories in my playlist, many of them I'd consider to be good, but this? This is by far my favorite, and most of it I attribute to Mr. Jiry's spectacular reading.
This was a phenomenal story; well-written and spoken eloquently. I typically listen to this channel or CTFDN while I'm in bed getting ready to sleep. Today, I listened on my train ride home and was on the edge of my seat. I was listening so intently and I'm sure people were watching me wondering what on earth I was listening to. Thank you for bringing these stories to the public and putting your heart and soul into their narration. I am excited to commute with more of your stories in the future!
Thank you for sharing your talent with us Otis. I hope soon to be able to afford a subscription. In the meantime I'll keep sending stories to Chilling Tales for Dark Nights in the hopes you might read it on one of these.
David Cummings does a fantastic reading of this on the NoSleep Podcast but I’m a huge Otis Jiry fan and he absolutely nailed this narration! Perfect for spoopy season!
There's something you need to know my friend.... The Showers.. as well as the Odd Kids are without a doubt.. the best!!! stories you've Ever Narrated.... I listen to these stories over & over during different times & atitudes i'm going through. You need to find more stories like these to narrate.... Truly ICONIC!!!! to me... It won't be easy to find them... but you can do it.... Thanks.....
If you do NoEnd House I'd be extremely happy. Quite long and multiple parts but it be awesome to have my second favourite(this being my number one) creepypasta also be narrated by the best creepypasta voice actor/narrator on YT. Keep up the excellent work. Always nice to see your stuff pop-up on my feed.
Two men came upon the showers, cold and damp in morning hours One man said "inside we go!" the other man said "oh, no. no. no." So went one within the walls, to hear the echoes and the calls Then shouting, raving, he did call out, "By god man let me out!" All fell silent in the showers, cold and damp in morning hours And one man crouched a whistling, as he chewed on gristling Of the man who shouted out, "Please god let me out!" For when you go to secret showers, in the cold damp morning hours Go alone and not with friend, for friend shall fiend and then shall rend while whistling a silly tune, a military song, over body hewn For madness lies without not in, and trapped you'll be there within And witness you, your own demise, in your friends maddened eyes. In the showers cold and red, quiet now save for the dead.
Wow, I'm heartbroken that this is so short. What a gripping narrative, and the way it's constructed makes me genuinely question whether this might be a true story. Someone talk to someone and get me a part two ASAP!! I know I'm 4 years late to the game but damn
your voice is really relaxing except for when you're telling a story like this and i'm listening to it while working outside at 10 oclock at night and i keep on hearing strange noises around me
Otis Jiry's Creepypasta Crypt No problem Mr.Jiry. If only i spelt "nice" correctly. hehehe. I was wandering if i could make a request for a spooky new story maybe? I'm writing it as we speak but i might bring it out when i've finished all the essential corrections.
A question for curiosity's sake. Do you read these in one take or edit together different takes? I can at the very least see taking a break between parts 1 and 2 being more than understandable.
Generally speaking, production takes place in one sitting, but there are many pickups where mistakes take place. You can count on approximately, 7 hours work for each hour of finished product you get to hear. Pre read, narration, editing for mistakes, mastering, then video production and upload. A LOT more work involved than most people realize.
Unrelated to the video itself but since my only real source of internets is an iPhone I don't have much choice but to comment to ask this - is there any playlist where I can find only the videos you did for the Chilling Tales channel? The playlist they have under your name includes stuff from this channel, and while I love them it makes it harder for me to find stories I haven't heard yet.
***** CTFDN has an "Otis Jiry" playlist, but I couldn't say when the last time it was updated was. You could always do a search for me on their channel and make your own list. :)
Best to stick to the other channels then, because this is an audiobook style channel where there is NO music or sfx used. You should stick to CTFDN if that is you style. I do work for them also, but this channel is meant for a different audience who look for stories like audiobooks are done.
Otis is an astoundingly talented narrator, and can create an atmosphere for a story using only his voice. His narration of 'The Russian Sleep Experiment' is one of the very best horror voiceovers I have ever had the pleasure of hearing, and there is no music or SFX in that version.
Best read of this story I've ever heard Otis! You truly are a master storyteller!!! /bow

What a realistic, psychological horror story! Otis Jiry IS a master storyteller. Dylan Sindelar is a superb writer also!
+Yusef Endure Thank you kindly!
