- Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer reacts to the chancellor's budget, saying the government continues to "give with one hand and take even more with the other".
Comparing Jeremy Hunt and Rishi Sunak to the Chuckle Brothers, Sir Keir Starmer said the pair have told people that "everything's on track" but the country is in a recession.

"The chuckle brothers of decline" 🤣
He cooked for sure!
Oh dear oh dear
To me
General election now 😡 bunch of clowns 🤡
Bang out of order, what have the chuckle brother done to deserve this insult against their good names.
Ille get Dan the van to have a word.
The Tories are actually sitting there laughing as their comical failures are read out to them in public. Ghastly government. Get them out!!
Here, here!!
Good bye
I don't get any worse than a government that's happy to party whilst we bury our loved ones who died from Covid19. Then, on top of that, destabilise our NHS that we pay for from our taxes. They are disgusting 🫣 😒
Muslims will run UK if labour comes in power
Where is the money from this tax burden going, There needs to be a serious investigation into government fraud.
£83Billion going on Debt interest payments, a sizable chunk partly due to lavish spending during the Pandemic!
😂😂😂
No government fraud to see here. Move on sheeple
It's going on paying off our debts, caused by Labour and COVID. People need to get real and accept the conservatives are the best we have got. Let Starmer in at your peril.
@@peterhughes506 And who benefitted the most from that borrowing?
@@peterhughes506 They've borrowed around 1.8 trillion since 2010 so the bulk of it is nothing t do with the pandemic, it was 130 billion last year alone
Watching this it is obvious Rishi Sunak is incapable of listening.
@glasshouses1416 He is merely a voice on a stick.
Trusting jeremy hunt to look after the majority of people is like trusting a shark with your arm. Absolute wage thief in more ways than one.
Hes never stole my wages....unlike labour who ruined the economy under Blair ..as history shows....so no doubt starmer will repeat...his rudderless road
Their, spelling He's name wrong , it's not H,,
The last Labour government got public services & NHS sorted.
Tories will leave this country skint and with nothing to show for it.
NHS is in tatters while Sunak is squandering £ millions our taxes on his Rwanda vanity project.

How can they be sat on their phones? Why is that allowed?
Must be looking at "tractors".

call a general election now and let the British people vote.
The tory government should be removed immediately...
Sunak your private airplane is ready to take off.
As long as he pays for it!
It doesn’t matter what Labour think any more about the opposition as someone quoted in 2024 “They’re both cheeks from the same backside” ‼️👀
It is so nice seeing Darren Jones on the front bench. Been watching him for ages running comittees and he is one of the best MP's in that house.
Most of the British People living below the poverty line, 1 in 5 British People are below the starvation line and visiting foodbanks, property unattainable for the young no matter what age they work until, older people taxed on the pensions which they have already been taxed on! The cost of food has increased by 25% in two years, rents have increased by 10% in two years, the government plans to raise council taxes in some areas by as much as 21% a year and the government thinks that deducting 2p from someone's national insurance contribution is going to make a difference? It's a wonder that the British People have not had a revolution yet.
@@jimmagspanton669According to official statistics over 14 million Brits are in poverty. Another 10 million just above the poverty line.
Keep a close eye on Penny and her associates, particularly on 15 March. Caesar Sunak may finally get the point.

Brilliant speech. Can't believe the attitude of the Governments front benches, shocking. And as for the Prime Minister texting whilst the Leader of the Opposition is speaking, smacks of not giving a dawn about democracy. Good night and good riddance to Conservative rule
Time to ban mobile phones in parliament me thinks.
Little Rishi Sunak has prescribed a broken back for this country.
WE WANT ELECTION
The Chuckle Brothers were actually good though.....
After the next GE, I can't see the Conservatives getting in power for a very, very long time and it's deserved. Though does show the state of UK politics, Labour aren't much better and are devoid of ideas themselves. I think a tough time is coming up.
When one party has sunk your country to the point where only the chimneys are visable, it's going to be virtually impossible for any govt to save us or it will be a long long slow grind back to the surface.
Non-dom scheme being scrapped, but not retrospectively. Meaning Rishi’s wife is being let off with the £20mil in tax she’d have paid.
She is leaving the country. They are moving back to Santa Monica. 😂

Well said Starmer.
Stammer keeps on pressing 🎉.
starmer spitting like eminem
Starmer on fire -wonderful stuff. Absolutely brilliant.
Let's get the tories out
no change to the inheritance tax threshold. Disgraceful! day light robbery taxing money that has already been taxed
its 1 million for a couple and SIPPS are excluded if to a relative
Its been calculated that 40% of your house value on average is down to government policies including Right to buy and other government interventions.
The Tories have made it far worse in the last 14 years as well with house prices rising on average by 66% and real wages falling by -7%
Only 6%of population affected by inheritance tax. It is not a priority for anyone with any sense.
get these out of power!!!! tory fools who dont care!!!
16:00 minutes in and Rishi Sunak is just sat there typing on his phone????? What the ........?
God how I hate my income being taxed to bits: Hunt had *one* job: get me more of my money back!
The centre is so broad that a Conservative budget gave as *little* as possible to those who *most* need it to make ends meet.
I am not biased towards one party or the other, but I wonder what the Labour Party would have come up with if the tables had been turned. I know that Jeremy Hunt couldn't come up with the panacea for all the problems that beset the UK, but at least he is not acting irresponsibly.
Trouble is the tories caused 90%of the mess we are in so he gets no praise from me.
What a rude lack of respect and arrogance from Sunack and his partner in charge of the economic deception that while Starmer spoke they talked to each other and laughing as if they were in the conservative circus that they themselves created.
@user-ph1fu2us5g a thabhairt ar an réabhlóid!!!
Disgusting
Rayner got laughed at for her dodgy house situation
The fact that so many are now willing to give labour a chance is like watching a victim skip between abusers...
I hate the Tories, but I am not enthusiastic about the Labour alternative.
The chuckle brother's,, priceless,,,
Neither side can be trusted, the working class are gunna be screwed from either side
I felt that. Did he just serve The Tory’s their posteriors? 😮
Cutting taxes means cutting public services. Cutting public services help rich people to flourish their business. I don't know why people don't understand this much simple formula. Cutting taxes is Tories main policy and we stupid people vote them and give them power to do this, put the country in crisis.
Cutting taxes is Labours only policy, they're also increasing council tax in their districts and simultaneously cutting services to cover billions pounds worth of Labour mismanagement and loss.
There not cutting taxes though, Fiscal drag means the 20% rate should be 15000 not 12250 its frozen till 2028 and there cutting government funding from councils while allowing council tax to rise year on year for the next 5 years.
Big loosers are pensioners most on low incomes with 2 million in poverty currently its estimated 4 out of every 10 people retiring will add to that number
@@SlowhandGreg Welcome to Britain, don't bother shutting the door on the way out.
Yep. Tories out for the rich and themselves. They need to go before the UK collapses under their feet. Monsters 😡
STARMER!
STARMER!
STARMER!
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚀🚀🚀🚀
Why does Starmer believe these insults and dishonest disinformation make him credible?
Check the polls and labour have won 12 out of the last 14 by elections.
It’s all theatre, pathetic
They are the same Labour havent been for working people for a very long time both halves of the same coin
If inflation has been 10% and TAX allowances only rise by 5% then that is another TAX rise!
fiscal drag on frozen rates of 12250 they should now be 15000 and its frozen till 2028 so your 550 down from that NI is at the same rate then another 220 for NI making 670
So your 4% NI cut needs to be big enough to wipe out the fiscal drag
True, but the personal allowance will still be higher in real terms than it was in 2010, due to the doubling in the last decade.
@@user-hu1yi8ox9z The reason the Threshold went up was due to the Lib-Dems it was part of the deal Clegg negotiated. The Tories have been eating into it since their second term it should be 15000
@SlowhandGreg That's not entirely true, It went up from £10500 To £12570 From 2015 and the Libdems were not in Government. Sunak also raised the N.I threshold from £8100 to £12570 in 1 go.
Rearranging the deckchairs on the the Brexit Titanic, everyone knows the country is sinking.
Paying more and more for less was he talking about a mars bar
Would prefer to see more emphasis on repairing services and less on tax cuts. More criticism
of corporate socialism and deregulation.
Why are these people , on all sides, acting like the UKs budget is a comedy roast? Behaviour during these sessions is utterly revolting.

Where is Starmer's plan?
He wanted furlough, business rates holiday, energy price guarantee etc etc etc. How does he think that is going to be paid for?
We don't need government.. we're all free men and women
I loathe Starmer (man has thrown his gender critical colleagues under the bus), but the Tories are handing him victory on a plate.
All i see is two differnet sides of privately educated tossers point scorint sbour the state of the working families lives.
Not a single hint of any if it is hunerous enough to laugh about when workint fsmilies are in fuel and food poverty.
How did we end up that this is our choice of leaders. Politics needs a new party desperately.
I cant listen to Starmer he is a big joke to me 😅😅😅
Yes. Nobody can deny that Sir Keir is good at talking the talk and making funny jokes: "Chuckle brothers, Willy Wonka etc", but can Labour do any better than this lot? What is the long term economic plan that Labour has to offer? Cameron and Osbourne, had a long term economic plan that worked while they were in office. It all happened during the coalition government with the support of the Liberals and capable hands of people like Vince Cable. Those were the best five years the UK had, while we were in the EU and had a firm set of hands at the steering wheels. Like it or not, it's the truth.
Please, get real. Cameron had no plan except cut cut cut, austerity damaged uks growth, in his tenure the NHS has its lowest ever funding in real terms. Poverty rose dramatically. He pitted worker against worker then to finish us off had a senseless referendum on leaving the EU. The referendum was simply to shut up his euro sceptics in his party. What a mess. Get your rose tinted glasses off.
Cameron had one plan..... Austerity, it caused chaos and led to brexit. Useless is being kind to him.
'can Labour do any better than this lot?' - I'm no Labour supporter, but just by being competent and honest with the public they will be streets ahead of the Tories. The problem is that the Tories have raised personal taxes and public debt to record levels. This leaves Labour in a real bind. They can either borrow money to fund expenditure, cut spending or increase taxes. Their only real option is number one although I'd like to see them also raise corporate taxes and taxes on assets. Sadly the mainstream media will have collective amnesia and forget how the Tories recklessly borrowed without any investment whatsover in the countries economy or infrastruture. At least Labour will borrow with a plan in mind, and not waste the money on useless PPE, a non functioning track and trace system or covid loans made to shell companies.
HS2 was never meant to reach past B'ham. It's a cash cow for Tory donors.
VAT threshold going up is good. but there should be an allowance, so only money is charged above the threshold.
