Wow I was struggling with the action slide tube, now I know how to disassemble this shotgun now, thanks. My dad had bought this 550 from Montgomery wards back in the 70’s and he had given it to me about 10 years ago, I’ve Had disassembled this shot gun many times but could never get the slide tube off, wow I was just looking around on RUclips today and this video popped up! Life saver man!! Thanks again
There's a couple of other videos on this gun on my channel, one on bolt disassembly and one on a common trigger frame issue. Thanks for watching, happy to know it helped!
Excellent explained!!!!! Thank you. I'm doing a 20-gauge for a Friend. Never cleaned it which is sad!!!! I appreciate you went slowly so you can follow the procedure step by step! Thank you very much and stay safe!
I have a m550CD so while the stuff revolving around the pump and ammo barrel did pertain to me, the rest was extremely helpful and I was able to figure out the rest by myself with no issue, so thank you.
I have the m550ar and I am having trouble with the bolt- I have a small rod that I think is supposed to go into the bolt and strike the round but it keeps shooting out of the gun the trigger is pressed.
There's a pin that retains the firing pin, sounds like it might be missing. I also have a video on the bolt disassembly and assembly that shows all the parts, you might check that out at ruclips.net/video/08UR0_lPBgo/видео.html
I had an issue removing the slide out of the receiver. Slide will not come out of the receiver, moves all the way forewatd, but not out of the receiver. Any idea why?
So if you mean the forend and slide action, it won't come out of the receiver unless you unscrew the magazine tube. The reverse of the assembly procedure at 2:50 in the video. If you mean the bolt slide, then it comes out of the bottom of the receiver not the front, like the bolt. See the video at 1:25. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching
@@veggiezombie Most certainly that's what's limiting your capacity. Most are set up to only allow two (standard 2 3/4") shells in the magazine and the +1 in the chamber to meet most fish and game regulations for hunting.
I got a 20ga off my grandfather, took it apart to clean it and felt real dumb trying to put it back together. Thank you for for this video.
This you tube helped me reassemble my Western Field 12 GA after another one got it apart without proper detail and images to reassemnle!
Thanks!

@@ImminentThreatDefense thanks! I meant the forend and the slide, very strange that tube has to be unscrewed to remove it. Thanks again!
@@dene1196 yeah, caught me off guard too. It's not like that on similar models of Mossberg's
Do these magazine tubes come with a plug to reduce capacity?
You can buy them or make them, Brownells and MidwayUSA have them, but it's just a piece of wooden or plastic dowel cut to length
@@ImminentThreatDefense was just curious, mine was only holding 3 shells. I'm gonna take it apart and see if there's one restricting capacity

@@ImminentThreatDefense awesome thank you!
