As a Buckeye fan, I can tell you you're getting a good player in this kid. There just wasn't enough room for him at Ohio State. He would never be a starter at Ohio State. So I don't blame him for moving on to a better situation for him
Sounds like he'll probably be more than just camp fodder, at least. Five years of total American football experience, the past three of which were under legendary DL coach Larry Johnson, Sr., means he probably hasn't hit his ceiling, however high or low it might be.
He's not coming here to be a starter either.
If your assessment is correct, then he will be a good depth piece for us, which is what we need. Or if he breaks out, ohio state didnt know what they were doing with him.

I've been thinking about Europe as a possibility for the big men. There are tons of these guys in Europe.

At one time there was a lot of DOD (department of defense) high schools in Europe, mostly Germany. Not sure if Hero comes from that system.
Dude has been All German selectin, i.e. national youth team, player before going to California.

We need DL, but I'm not getting that excited as he had 4 tackles in 15 games. Not very productive, but he's good depth.
It depends on how often he played. If he barely saw the field but has a lot of potential those low numbers may not mean much especially as a rotational piece where all you are really for is someone who isn't going to be a huge drop off from the starters.
@@OdemGee Hopefully, we can develop him and he has 2 years left. He had limited playing as a high schooler from Germany, but he was highly rated by the services and has potential.
Counting games played does not paint an accurate picture. Snap count is more representative.

I’m guessing his parents and him originate from Nigeria. Kanu is a common last name there, it’s like Smith or Jackson in America. My last name is also Kanu.
His mother is German, father from Nigeria. Born in Germany, German citizen.
