Living the dream. Pit blind is a good idea for sure in that setting I think. Keep a few regular blinds around it and let birds get used to them over the years and switch it with the wind. Edit to add: from hunting a few buddies pit blinds at their camp and being used to skid blinds on the lake I do remember they had installed swiveling latches on top to keep water out as much as possible. Could probably put down something the length of the space between the top and the front that you could pick up and lay vertically behind the blind when you arent using it to mitigate water as much as possible to make it easier on the pump.
