Dear Ustaad asalaamualaykum. First of all Eid mubarak Alhamdulillah. I have a concern and please if you can shade some light on it or if any way you can help to finish this problem. We live in Australia where MashAllah there are many masjids built around us and our communities contribute to these. My concern is that nearly all of them are with Pakistani origin, and they implement their on rulings when it comes to eid salah. Brother eid was celebrated yesterday in makah and all around the most of the world. People prayed, eid prayers and celebrated after the eid prayers. We have been deprived of this naimah because all mosques near us are doing the eid prayers today. Isn't this one islam and we are all following teachings of prophet Mohammed saw? I can understand eid fitir that after moon sightseeing we can pray but why with this eid. I am not trying to divide Muslims no please understand. But I am hurt my husband and my brothers are gone to do the eid prayer now. My husband was comforting me by saying it is ok we can pray eid prayers any of the 3 days, but my heart is not in ease. When all the Hujaaj has done the hajj and sacrifices are done. What is the meaning of this. I feel that they are stating that eid happens when in Pakistan it is celebrated, not when Allah swt decreed it. Please put my heart in ease we have to follow one islam. 😢 I am so sad right now. Is there anything we can do to fix this problem.
nadia, you have nothing to worry about. remember each month is determined by sighting if the new moon! not by Saudi nor Pakistan, I believe you are doing it on the correct day as the month of zul hajj in Australia started on Tuesday 20th june, wheres Saudi declared they apparently seen the moon on sun 18th june, thus making the previous month 29 days as opposed to 30. wats strange is that all observatories and learned ppl in astrology etc say its impossible to see the moon on sun 18th june yet apparently Saudi seen it. counting such as Morocco who are more in the west than Saudi did not see the moon yet saudi claim they did. please google wen Saudi made an error in ramadan few years ago and paid kaffara in the millions on behalf of the ummah. etc. yet many national still follow them blindly. (if ubare doing hajj etc you have no choice but to follow their timing and date. however this does not mean the rest of the world should. lastly Saudi have announce that their moon sighting is for thier local community and area and everyone shud follow thier own local moon sighting. and esp in countries like Australia, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, malaysia etc where the skies are clear one can easily see the new moon with naked eye. following true sunna, see look for the moon on 29th islamic date ofneach lunar calendar., if you see the moon, then begin next day with new month 1st. if you dont see the moon then complete 30 days of the current month. very simple ahadith. however Saudi loves to cut one day and have 29 days in many months esp the eid months.
