Yes indeed sir, You have been an inspiration to me, here's the story (it is alot like yours) About 1 year ago I began staggering and if I was not careful I would fall down forward or/and backwards. I went to my VA hospital and received brain scans and blood draws, but they could not find the cause of my symptoms. I also went to Physical therapy sessions. My body has been healthy and dis-ease free since I was a boy and I figured it knew how to repair itself. About that time, I found your video's. You have such a clear way of describing your symptoms I bonded instantly and decided I would buy a bike and go pedaling on the American river bike trail every morning to strengthen my legs. I posted to my VET groups my plan of healing, and they gave me a lot of encouragement. My wife (TERRY.) was walking the trail often and was hot to get a bike and ride with me. I knew recumbent bikes were NOT cheap, but everybody agreed that if it helped my falling the expense was worth it, We decided a trike might be more helpful than a bike, So we invested in two catrike villiagers. MY ability improved 90% AFTER only three morning 7 mile peddles, of course I had to brag, even to strangers on the trail, next thing I knew, I lost about 50% of my newly won ability, Pride comes just before the fall) also I use a drug, a fungi (lyons mane) Its been about 10 days and I've gained back about 40% of my balance/ability but I learned to stop bragging and just go on with my therapy. I am looking forward to a complete recovery, but i guess its going to take a while. Bobcat Bob Ingram
They encountered a fierce storm mid-Atlantic that tore the fabric loose off of the rear stabilizer. Eckener's son, Knut, was among those that volunteered to try to fix it. They had to slow down to effect repairs. When they lost height & dropped down to less than 300 yards above the ocean, it was too late to tell the repair crew that it was suddenly going to get very, very windy as a result of picking up speed- endangering the repair crew. Including his own son. Luckily, it was managed & no harm came to anyone..... 🚬😎
This is absolutely incredible! Thank you. I am currently working on animations and trying to revive films like these. Is there someone I can contact about this? Your video archives are the best visual documentation we have on the actual past and I can't thank you enough for sharing this with rest of us. Take care and God bless you!
I was a video technician and worked on creating a database for Fox Movietone News. Also "British Pathe" documented much of the 20th century! I'm surprised you didn't get a response. have you tried contacting Periscope Films? I did do some restoration work of early NASA footage from the 60's and 70's that was recorded on videotape for a university TV station once.
What a great short! I've always been in aviation history. As a hot air balloon pilot, it's a rare opportunity to see anything in a lighter than aircraft from this vintage. Thank you!
@@PeriscopeFilm Are these available for purchase? Do you have a website? I was looking for footage of an airplane being loaded on the hindenburg in the Summer of 1936 at Lakehurst, NJ. Do you know if any footage exists? Any assistance would be greatly appreciate. Thank you.
About 25 years ago I was in my mother's front yard, on a sunny day, in Hurricane, West Virginia and a large shadow came over me. It scared the bejeebers out of me until I looked up and realized it was the Good Year blimp, so huge but quiet.
If you watch the footage closely, you’ll see their engines are shut down for most of their crossing. They were taking advantage of the jet stream winds which can be in excess of 150 knots.
@@nofxslc I thought the entire concept of the jet stream was unknown to Western meteorologists until B-29s were flying over Japan in 1945. How would and Zeppelin pilot have known what the jet stream was?
It's the size of the Mauretania and just as fast, but what do you really get for all that? What was the payload of the Graf Zeppelin? 16 1/2 tons. A 10-wheel truck can carry more. And it was so fragile, and far, far more dangerous than even an LNG carrier. A work of genius, a beautiful ship and a great idea, but so very far from practical.
Your 10-wheeler ain't crossing the Atlantic on its own. That beast went from one side of the Pond to t'other in only 4½ smooth days. Of COURSE we're far and away more advanced 100 years later. But at the time…
This collection of videos are really worth watching. Thank you.

Wow can you imagine been on board in a storm, they were lucky 🍀
God ,how i.love these films ....🌹💞
I read that shortly after WW2, Commander Rosendahl visited Friedrichshafen, and found Dr. Eckener sitting on a bench in the park feeding pigeons.

The poor guy at 13:04 is probably 60 feet high with no fall protection, but at least he's wearing a necktie.
I watched the entire ad for,
'Cocaine Bear'!! Coming to a theater near you, February 2023.

6:19 to 6:25- Is the small flying blob a bird closer to the camera (relatively speaking), or a small plane closer to the zeppelin?
I think it is a bird - its relative movement seems slower than the aircraft more clearly seen at other moments.
It's a bird, it's a plane... yeah, either a bird or a plane.
What a way to travel
Is there any recordings of the zepplin over Philadelphia?
8:16 Talk about a close call!

12:39 No safety harness or scaffolding? Yikes!
That seems an odd route, via the madeira islands, very far south for transatlantic crossing. London to Arizona runs close to Greenland these days
Maybe their route was planned and akin'd as a sailing boat, taking advantage of the trade winds.

@Dionysius 1 B “key stream” 🤔🤔
"It's a giant torpedo!"
Seems like they built the luxury cabins, then built just a Zeppelin that would hold it up and get it where they wanted to go. Lol
What has this film got to do with *"Terrytoon - WWII Cartoons (Gandy Goose)"* ??
The modern equal to the Viking fireboat.
A supurb short film
